Carly Fiorina, Corporate America’s highest ranking female CEO of HP was the first casualty of the Rooster year. She was forced out by the board of directors because of her failure to execute a planned strategy of cost cutting and revenue improvement.
Fiorina tried to transform HP into a broad-based technology gaint by championing the acquisition of Compaq Computer Corp in 2002 but the much anticipated strategic benefits had not materialized.
