Khairy: One last push to enable Malays to catch up

Umno Youth’s proposal for a New National Agenda which will incorporate elements of the New Economic Policy is a “last push” to enable the Malays to catch up with the other races before 2020, its deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin said.

Khairy said everyone had to move away from being obsessed with race if Bangsa Malaysia was to be achieved and that they should have an equal playing field to compete.

“This is the one last chance to push for the Malay economy, but we must always remember to strengthen our centre – the Barisan Nasional. I want Malaysia to be a great nation, but I don’t want it to be a great nation with sections of society still not developed,” Khairy, one of the guest speakers at the Anak Malaysia Convention, said.

Khairy acknowledged that the different races in Malaysia tended to solve their problems through their own race-based political parties.

Asked if the bumiputras would be satisfied upon reaching the 30% equity, he said:

“Of course they will be happy if they reach 30%. We will be satisfied, but after that we will have more targets to reach as Malaysians.”

“Malaysia seems like a nice country to live in, but it actually has one of the worst income distribution in the region,” he said.

COMMENTS:

Khairy mistakenly leak out his ambition.

In the words of Khairy, he will be happy if he reaches 30% BUT of couse he will have more targets if that 30% had been reached.

The pertinent issue is: "Even if the 30% target is reached, will it be 30% equally or somewhat equally distributed to the whole spectrum of Malays or centralized within the realms of the Oligarchy and their acolytes? You can make predictions and you can conclude yourselves.

"This is the last chance to push for Malay economy?" That's a desecration. It sound like he could be signing checks that his body would not be able to pay. Objectively, it seemed he is making himself bigger than his real life. The statement does imply that the past leaders had failed in their duty to help the Malays, and now it is left to this narcissistic intellect to right the wrongs.

It amuse me. When it was said as the last chance, what does it imply then?
