$700mil Broga Compensation? Not Really!

Aborted Broga project would not cost the government $700mil compensation for breach of contract.

This is what Najib had to comment on the rumours: “No, that is off the mark. I can’t give the real figure but the number given is not accurate.”

"Big Bird" (Jeff called his source 'little bird'; so I called mine a grown-up ones, hehehehe)) said it should end up something around RM300mil, along the trend of compensation such as that of Crooked Bridge-Gerbang Perdana.

So, I asked Big Bird, why does he thinks so. He said, the assessor had been cultured to think small and the smallest tradition is 300. However, since Broga is in Selangor, the assessor may have to consider the toyo-premium. It's along the line of bolehism and megarism.

Let's celebrate!

Perhaps Big Bird could also shed some light on the progress of the 2nd Penang Bridge and why the need of the China loan. :)

Projects like this normally get paid on a "progressive payment" basis. Given no physical work has been done at the site, the liability should be no more than 10% or 20% by normal commercial terms. For a RM 1.5 B project, this would put it in the RM 150 M or 300 M ball-park range.
Ah, I forgot we have to factor in the toyo-premium or perhaps KJ-premium.
