UMNO GENERAL ASSEMBLY : “Datuk Hisham has unsheathed his keris, waved his keris, kissed his keris. We want to ask Datuk Hisham when is he going to use it” -Hashim Suboh
"But everybody (at the assembly) has spoken very frankly on what they feel about certain things. And I think that's healthy, that's good." -Ahmad Badawi
Najib made that statement when he was young and immature and was the UMNO Youth leader. He is now the deputy Prime Minister and fully understands the implication of his past statement. I firmly believed he had regretted what he said and would have changed his ideology, understanding the social-political reality of a plural society.
Let's leave history behind and move forward; and observed the current ideological stand which is relevant. We may not forget; but let's forgive a man who is contrite; I believed Najib had regretted it.
There are imminent issues and potential future threats from those rising political stars and mavericks who couldn't care for the destruction of the social fabric as long as they gain power and position. These are our main concern.
Najib is no threat to the other communities; the young turks are; of course this is my opinion only from empirical observation of happening. I hope I am wrong on my paranoia.
