Sedition against Sultan Terengganu - No action?

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz admitted that Datuk Rosol and the 22 assemblymen had acted unlawfully and their actions tantamount to sedition against the Sultan of Terengganu who is also our King.

Nazri said swift action must also be taken against Terengganu Umno secretary Datuk Rosol Wahid and 22 assemblymen as they had behaved in a way which may be interpreted as seditious against the Sultan of Terengganu. Rosol and the assemblymen had protested against the appointment of the menteri besar in March.

"I believe police reports have been made against Rosol and action must be taken. "I do not care whether the person is an elected representative from the Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Rakyat.

"The law is the law. If you do something which is against the law, then action must be taken."

"No Umno member would be spared if he or she had committed a seditious act."

Nazri was commenting on alleged "double standards" which had "spared" the Terengganu Umno state assemblymen who had challenged the state's Regency Advisory Council's candidate for the post of menteri besar, while urging investigation into Karpal Singh, the DAP chairman, for questioning the powers of Perak Ruler Sultan Azlan Shah, be expedited.

The BN assemblymen's conduct was seen by many as tantamount to a seditious act against Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu.

"There are no double standards... I do not want to see any double standards employed in (sedition) cases," Nazri said at a religious function in Kampung Cheh Hulu in Kati here.

for once, nazri, i am with you on this. thats what the country needs; rule of law with no double standards.

there should be no double standards yes. And the assemblymen's actions of that banner which says "NATANG" being directed to the Sultan right? No way jose, let's sue these buggers too.

And about the Karpal issue in this case, he has all the right to be guilty because he touched on the Perak Sultan's religious powers. Of course you're gonna get into trouble for that, like duh!. Not so smart.

That Bodoh-Saya-Pantang-DiCabar-PM defended his choice of former MB Datuk Idris Jusoh for the post, saying “the appointment of anyone other than Idris is unconstitutional and invalid.”

Lets see whether this moron have the balls to throw the sedition act at bodowi face.

What an arrogant & chauvinist party.

Edi,

Nazri said it right and fair; we have to give due recognition.

Artchan,

I'm not sure though I am skeptical too. However, I accept his statement had been made rightly.

BTW he is no taxi minister now; he was.

Sandyow,

I think the poster with the word 'Natang' was truly seditious and contemptuous.

I do not agree that Karpal had touch on religious power. Karpal was referring to that man who is a civil servant and in his employment letter he is to report to the MB and the MB as the state chief minister had the authority to decide his employees posting. It is incidentally that that man is also a civil servant posted to act in a religious position.

Religion comes under the prerogatives of the Sultan; but Karpal was not interfering with the religion or religious activities or the interpretation of Islamic rules or the quran.

Put it in another way, as a Malaysian and if you reach the age of 18 you are considered to have reach the age of majority and can apply passport, open bank account, sign contract, etc; but you only can register as a voter by the age of 21. Therefore, we have various entities and the rights and privileges are not the same.

Ling Ling Chatt,

When he said things that is right and legally correct, whether it is done or not is another matter. We can only comment if no actions were taken. In the meantime, lets be fair to his statement.

Sandyow,

I had stated my stand - fair comment. Opinions must be accepted even if we do not agree or seems ridiculous.
