Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad again charged that the development of Iskandar Malaysia in south Johor bordering Singapore, would not only turn the 2,217sq km area into ’Singapore North’ but could also cause Malays in Johor to be sidelined.
“The residents there will be quite rich and they will be from Singapore. In the end, there will no be more Malays there because they will not be able to buy land (due to high prices) and when the outsiders are too many, they will start asking for this and that right,” Dr Mahathir said in a dialogue session here yesterday.
In that regard, he reminded Malays in the development corridor to not easily sell their land when offered very high prices by certain quarters.

If what Mahathir said is true, the Johor Malays should not sell their land as there will be no more Malays there; UEM, the Umno-controlled agency should also not sell their land to any outsiders or foreigners as it would sideline the Malays and reduce the Malays to slaves working for the Singaporeans and foreigners.

So Dr M's solution is to bring in 5 million mamaks from India and give 'em ICs to settle down there as citizens
The old man is senile. Nobody points a gun at UEM or the Malays to sell their lands. It is sold at market price. If you want the money and investment this is the situation. Really desperate old man...
he has gone a full circle. he is visiting his ultras to gather support. in another time, he was propelled to the executive office. today, many have realized his time is over. his ideas served only him and his cronies.
it did not work. it failed.
Is he still relevant? However I read his blog from time to time.. quite interesting except all those `crooning commentors'... what a laugh.. same as Toyo's Blog.
Moo,
What you say is true; and it is this simple reason he is appealing to Johor Malays.
Jefus,
I don't think he has anymore cronies except matthias.
Gukita,
You must be a great fan; He writes with good reasons; he is persuasive; he is not senile; and most of all, he is still ambitious and desirous.
Mahathir bugger trying to use race and nationalistic cards to topple Abdullah as
all the shits created by him start to surface now.
Trying to divert attention too.
Desperate man needs desperate measure.
Mave,
Come to think of it; what drove a man to retire at the peak when all his enemies have been crushed and he had the Nation in his hand? Then, came back again, with no holds-barred and without the body armour he built for himself against his appointed successor? Another shot at relevancy?
What a bunch of idiotic comments from a bunch of stupid people. C'mon la, you so called educated & mature M'sians.... grow up, get up and smell the coffee....
Fair,
You could have observed rightly.
Gukita,
He retired because he was tired and exhausted. He expects that his appointed successor will be loyal and work for him; but he discovered otherwise; so he was bend to crush his "betrayer".
