CCTVs in KLIA for decorative purpose

The closed-circuit television cameras outside the Kuala Lumpur International Airport departure hall were not switched on during the shoot-out.

Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin said checks showed the CCTVs were switched on again after the five-minute shoot-out.

"It has hampered police investigations. We were hoping that the footages from the CCTVs could have provided us with information about the gunmen," Bakri said.



"What's the point of having CCTVs if they are not switched on? It is not for decorative purposes."

Malaysia Airports Berhad senior general manager (operations) Datuk Azmi Murad refused to comment on the CCTVs.

"This is a police case. Let the police comment on this," he said.

When pressed further, he said the CCTVs were operated by it.

Two CCTVs are visible at the driveway outside the departure hall.

AirAsia finds ways to increase ticket price

AirAsia to charge luggage check-in fee

AirAsia passengers will have to pay for each checked in baggage from April 21.

It will cost them RM5 to check in the baggage at the airport but just RM3 if the arrangement is made online.

“The fee will help to defray up to 10% of the fuel cost,” said its group chief executive officer Datuk Tony Fernandes in a press statement.

“Lighter baggage on board means burning less fuel, hence, less pollution and a better environment. Fewer checked-in baggage improves airport efficiency and will eventually lead to shorter check-in queues,” he added.

Anything over 15kg will be charged as excess baggage in addition to checked-in baggage fee.

According to Fernandes, charging the fee for check-in baggage made more sense than charging everyone an additional fuel surcharge, which was what other airlines were doing.

“It is not much, but it adds up with all the other things we are doing such as priority boarding, selling merchandise and food on the flights,” he said.

Now election is over and Tony who lobbied for Shahrizat had also lost. It's time to increase the prices to defray costs.

Is roti canai that expensive nowadays?

It is said that the price of a roti canai is equal to the price of an airplane ticket to Singapore.

AirAsia group chief executive officer Datuk Tony Fernandes, who flew on the inaugural flight into the island republic, likened the cost of travel between the two countries now to the "price of a roti canai". AirAsia will be plying the route with two flights daily.

All what is needed is that a claimant had believed in the statement, which is a promise, and had taken it as a true statement, acted upon it by offering to pay for the ticket at the price of a roti canai, which constitute a detriment, and of which it will become unconscionable for the promisor to renege from his promise.
