Story: Are you God's Wife?

An eye witness account from New York City , on a cold day in December, some years ago:

A little boy, about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said, 'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes,'was the boy's reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No doubt, you will be more comfortable now.'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her, 'Are you God's wife?'

Today's Thought to Ponder

Are we aware that if anyone of us died tomorrow,
the company that we are working for could easily replace us
in a matter of days;
But our family and loving friends we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives?

And come to think of it, we would pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family and close friends,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?

***

"Do you feel proud hurting the person who loves you?"

***
When you are angry, you have every reason to be mad,
but you have no reason to be cruel.

***

There are some 6.9 billion people in this world.
Only a very very small percentage of them loves us.
These people who love us thus become very rare and precious.

***

Every year we go back Sibu for Ching Ming.
We pay respect to the dead and we hurriedly come back to Kuching.
I realized that, in our rush, we often neglected visiting our 90+ year-old grandpa.
We respect the dead but forget the living!

Story: Why Women Lie

One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, 'My dear child, why are you crying?' The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family. The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set with sapphires.

'Is this your thimble?' the Lord asked The seamstress replied, 'No.'

The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a golden thimble studded with rubies.

'Is this your thimble?' the Lord asked. Again, the seamstress replied, 'No.'

The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble.

'Is this your thimble ?' the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, 'Yes' The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.

Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, 'Why are you crying?' 'Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!'

The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney. 'Is this your husband?' the Lord asked.

'Yes,' cried the seamstress. The Lord was furious. 'You lied! That is an untruth!'

The seamstress replied, 'Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to George Clooney, you would have come up with Brad Pitt. Then if I said 'no' to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord, I'm not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, so THAT'S why I said 'yes' to George Clooney.

And so the Lord let her keep him.

The moral of this story is:

Whenever a woman tell lies, it's for a good reason and she believed it to be an honorable reason, and in the best interest of others.

A Story from a Woman

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.

I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?'

'No, I had to stop drinking years ago', the homeless woman told me.

'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked.

'No, I don't waste time shopping', the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.'

'Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked.

'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!'

'Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for a nice dinner with my husband and me tonight.'

The homeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'

I said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.'

A trip to Dhaka

If we think the traffic jam is horrific in Kuala Lumpur, then you have to visit Dhaka to appreciate KL. It took us nearly 5 hours to get to a destination which is only 5km away from the Pan Pacific Hotel in Dhaka.

See the traffic ahead of our car.

If the traffic is bad enough, you have to experience the driving skills of the Bangladeshi.
Michael Schumacher would be terrified by the driving manners.

It was an honour to meet up with our Malaysian Ambassador to Bangladesh,
H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh

and we met up with the Minister of Housing & Public Works (PWD),
Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan

Journeying along the streets of Dhaka, we will learn to appreciate our own streets:

Along the journey we also learn what it means to be poor.

What is a home? See below:

I will be making another trip to Dhaka next month.

Look at how many people are queuing at Louis Vuitton shop?

Oh my dear, even at a simple fast food Chinese restaurant!!!

Businesses are having good times!!!

I will be in Dhaka next week. Hope things are as good over there. After Dhaka I may have to go to Fiji. I'm not holidaying ... it's work assignment and hell of tiring and my legs are giving me problems.

Men thinks with their head and women with their heart

This was written by a guy...called Stanley from CatLand

Once upon a time, a man told his story:

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE:

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, 'I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me.'

I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!'

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear...

'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.'

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?'

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep..

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.'

We went on to the jewelery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... She was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis.

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, 'That's fine, honey.' She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, 'I think this is all Dear, let's go to the cashier.'

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.'

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?'

I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.'

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?'

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either... but at least the bitch knows I'm smarter than she thought.

All right Ladies, If you agree, say, "AI"; Hell even if you disagree!!!

Tell Stanley what you think ....

A Tale of Malaysia Boleh

Once upon a time, 20 years ago,

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Brit's, in the weeks that followed, an American archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story was published in the New York Times:

"American archaeologists had found traces of 250-year-old copper wire. They concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the British".

One week later, the Dept of Minerals and Energy in Malaysia, reported the following:

"After digging as deep as 30 feet in North Central Kedah region, Mahathir Mohammed, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Mahathir therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Malaysia had already gone wireless."

Lessons for Today

There's an old sea story about a ship's Captain who inspected his sailors, and afterward told the first mate that his men smelled bad.

The Captain suggested perhaps it would help if the sailors would change their underwear occasionally.

The first mate responded, "Aye, aye sir, I'll see to it immediately!"

The first mate went straight to the sailors berth deck and announced, "The Captain thinks you guys smell bad and wants you to change your underwear."

He continued, “Leo you change with Jerry. Tony you change with Bert and Bob you change with Ed."

THE MORAL OF THE STORY:

1. Someone may come along and promise "Change", but don't count on things smelling any better.

2. Most often than not, the message delivered may not be what you had intended it to be.

Story for today

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem.

While they were there, the wife passed away.

The undertaker told the husband, “You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her, in the Holy Land, for $150.”

The man thought about it and said he preferred to have her shipped home.

The undertaker asked, “Why would you spend $5,000 to shipped when it would be wonderful to be buried here on the Holy Land?”

The man replied, “Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and 3 days later he rose from the dead. I just can’t take that chance.”

Parable of a Seagull

In the mountains of the Northwest, a man was sitting beside a campfire while he roasted some kind of bird over the fire with eager anticipation. About this time, a forest ranger came upon the camp and asked the camper what he was preparing for dinner. The camper replied that it was a seagull. A frown came over the ranger’s face as he informed this fellow that it was against the law to kill that particular bird, and that he would have to give him a citation.

The camper responded by telling the ranger how he had lost his way and had consumed all of his food. In desperation, he had managed to kill this seagull to maintain his strength. After listening sympathetically, the forest ranger told the fellow he would let him go this time with just a warning, and the camper thanked the ranger profusely.

Just as the ranger was about to leave, he asked the camper, "Just out of curiosity, what does seagull taste like?"

Thinking for a moment, the camper responded, "Well, I would place it somewhere between a spotted owl and a bald eagle."

World Trade Centre

A guy with an office on 103rd floor of the World Trade Centre spent the morning at his girlfriend's apartment with his phone turned off. He wasn't watching TV either.

When he turned the phone back on about 11am, it rang immediately. It was his hysterical wife, "Are you OK? Where are you?"

He said, "What do you mean? I'm in my office of course."

His marriage ended. He lost his job. He is single again.

Today's Thought

I could not, at my age, be content to take my place by the wayside and simply look on.

Life was meant to be lived and to contribute beneficially to the society - to those who needs our assistance.

One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life and on those who are in despair.

I have journeyed this life for many decades, in search of my dream and in search of a destination that I had envisioned. The course of the journey was complex, tough, often painful and extremely tiring. I had reach the point, a point of contention, where I am now able to contribute my time and energy, and efforts, for others, the poor and destitute - they are those who deserve it. I had to serve my time back, for humanity, and hopefully, be able to help the needy and poor.

Parable of a Father's dilemma (Part2)

An Indian man said to the friend, 'You know my parents are forcing me to get married to his so called homely girl from a village whom I haven't even met once.' We call this arranged marriage. I don't want to marry a woman whom I don't love... I told them that openly and now have a hell lot of family problems.'

His friend said, "I'll tell you my story."

I married a widow whom I deeply loved and dated for 3 years. 'After a couple of years, my father fell in love with my step-daughter and married her, so my father became my son-in-law and I became my father's father-in-law.

Legally now my step-daughter is my mother and my wife my grandmother.

More problems occurred when I had a son. My son is my father's brother-in-law and at the same time he is also my uncle .

Situations turned worse when my father had a son. Now my father's son, my brother is my grandson. Ultimately, I have become my own grand father and I am my own grandson.

And you say you have family problems...

Bloggers' Stories

An old man who lived in a small side street in the city of Mumbai had to put up with the nuisance of having boys play cricket outside his house, at night.

One evening when the boys were particularly noisy, he went out to talk to them.

He explained that he was a pensioner who was happiest when he could see or hear boys playing his favorite game, cricket. He said he would give them 25 rupees each week to play in the street at night.

The boys were thrilled.

They were being paid to do something they enjoyed.

At the end of the first week they knocked at the old man's house and asked to be paid.

He did so.

The second week when they asked for payment he said he had run out of money and sent them away with only 15 rupees.

The third week the man said he had not yet received his pension and gave them only 10 rupees.

The boys were very disappointed but there was not much they could do about it.

The fourth week the man said he could not afford to pay them 25 rupees as he had promised, but would give them 5 rupees each week without fail.

This was too much for the boys.

"You expect us to play seven days a week for a measly 5 rupees!" they yelled. "Go to blazes."

They stormed away and never played on the street again.

A monkey-trainer in the state of Song was fond of monkeys and kept several of them in his house. He understood their language and they understood his.

Once when the province was stricken by drought and food was scarce he decided to reduce their daily ration of chestnuts.

He said to them: "From tomorrow, I'll give you three chestnuts in the morning and four in the evening. You will have to be satisfied with that."

The monkeys were very angry and created an uproar with their chattering.

"All right, all right," said the master, after a while.

"No need to get so upset. I'll give you four chestnuts in the morning and three in the evening."

The monkeys were satisfied and immediately quietened down.

When Niloy was born, his father had a dream in which Bidhata, the god who writes the destinies of men, appeared to him.

"Your son," said the god "will never be able to fully satisfy his hunger. Train him to be satisfied with a minimum of food."

His father tried but Niloy never succeeded in overcoming his love for food, and when he couldn't get enough of it, it made him miserable. The years passed. Niloy married and raised a family, but poverty dogged his footsteps, and there was not a day when he could say he had had enough to eat. He always went to bed half hungry. One day he was invited to the wedding of a rich man's daughter. It made him feel that perhaps his luck had changed.

"There will certainly be a lot of food at the wedding," he thought. "I'll eat to my heart's content."

There was certainly a lot of food at the wedding, but when he had eaten just a little, a heavy decorative piece under which he was sitting, fell on him, rendering him unconscious. When he had recovered, all the food was over.He always went to bed half hungry. His host, wanting to make up for the distress caused to him, invited him to lunch the next day. When he presented himself at the house the next afternoon, his host instructed his servants to take good care of him and to see that he was well fed and he went out of his half hungry condition.

Bidhata, god of destinies, was alarmed when he saw the servants piling food on the banana leaf from which Niloy was eating. He quickly took the form of a tiny frog and hopped onto the leaf, hoping that Niloy would be so filled with disgust that he would lose his appetite. What the god did not know was that his victim was extremely short-sighted. Niloy scooped up the frog along with a ball of rice and swallowed it. The god was trapped. His only consolation was that Niloy had begun to feel uneasy after swallowing him and had stopped eating.

Bidhata called out to Niloy while he was returning home and explained his predicament.

"Spit me out," he entreated.

"Spit you out!" exclaimed the man when he had got over the shock of hearing a voice from his stomach and that too of a god. “You have troubled me all my life. Do you think I will let you go so easily?"

"My duty is to write the destinies of men," said the god. “I derive no pleasure from their tribulations."

"Be that as it may," said Niloy. "I will not let you go until you promise to end my state of perpetual hunger."

"I cannot alter anyone's destiny," said Bidhata, "but if you become my devotee and worship me in an appropriate manner you will have my blessings."

"One can achieve great things with divine blessings," thought Niloy. He forced himself to bring up the food he had eaten, and the frog came out in the process. As Bidhata assumed his true form, Niloy said to him: "Now tell me, what is the appropriate way to worship you?"

"In your case," replied Bidhata, "the only way you can worship me is by never fully satisfying your hunger. Remain hungry all the time."

Once there lived a dog. He was very greedy. There were many times that he had to pay for his greed. Each time the dog promised himself, “I have learnt my lesson. Now I will never be greedy again.” But he soon forgot his promises and was as greedy as ever.

One afternoon, the dog was terribly hungry. He decided to go look for something to eat. Just outside his house, there was a bridge. “I will go and look for food on the other side of the bridge. The food there is definitely better,” he thought to himself.

He walked across the wooden bridge and started sniffing around for food. Suddenly, he spotted a bone lying at a distance. “Ah, I am in luck. This looks a delicious bone,” he said.

Without wasting any time, the hungry dog picked up the bone and was just about to eat it, when he thought, “Somebody might see here with this bone and then I will have to share it with them. So, I had better go home and eat it.” Holding the bone in his mouth, he ran towards his house.

While crossing the wooden bridge, the dog looked down into the river. There he saw his own reflection. The foolish dog mistook it for another dog. “There is another dog in the water with bone in its mouth,” he thought. Greedy, as he was, he thought, “How nice it would be to snatch that piece of bone as well. Then, I will have two bones.”

So, the greedy dog looked at his reflection and growled. The reflection growled back, too. This made the dog angry. He looked down at his reflection and barked, “Woof! Woof!” As he opened his mouth, the bone in his mouth fell into the river. It was only when the water splashed that the greedy dog realized that what he had seen was nothing but his own reflections and not another dog. But it was too late. He had lost the piece of bone because of his greed. Now he had to go hungry.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

The Parables of 3 Beggars

There was a good-natured millionaire in the town.

Three beggars thought of approaching him for help.

The first man went to the millionaire and said: "O Lord! I want five rupees. Please give me."

The millionaire was taken aback at this man's impudence. "What! You demand five rupees from me as though I owe you the money! How dare you? How can I afford to give five rupees to a single beggar? Here, take these two rupees and get away," he said.

The man went away with the two rupees.

The next beggar went to the millionaire and said: "Oh Lord! I have not taken a square meal for the past ten days. Please help me."

"How much do you want?" asked the millionaire.

"Whatever you give me, Maharaj," replied the beggar.

"Here, take this ten rupee note. You can have nice food for at least three days." The beggar walked away with the ten rupee note.

The third beggar came. "Oh Lord, I have heard about your noble qualities. Therefore, I have come to see you. Men of such charitable disposition are verily the manifestations of God on earth," he said.

"Please sit down," said the millionaire. "You appear to be tired. Please take this food," he said, and offered food to the beggar.

"Now please tell me what I can do for you."

"Oh Lord," replied the beggar; "I merely came to meet such a noble personage that you are. You have given me this rich food already. What more need I get from you? You have already shown extraordinary kindness towards me. May God bless you!"

But the millionaire, struck by the beggar's spirit, begged of the beggar to remain with him, built a decent house for him in his own compound, and looked after him for the rest of his life.

Humanity have three are three classes of beggars, with three different desires. There is the greedy man full of vanity, full of arrogance, full of desires. He demands the objects of enjoyment.

The first is the greedy man full of vanity, full of arrogance, full of desires. He demands the objects of enjoyment. He was granted the desired object but would soon have to beg again.

The second class asked for relief from the sufferings. To him he was granted much more relief.

The third type merely prays to the Lord. The Lord is highly pleased with his spirit of renunciation, of his lack of desire. Therefore, he was granted over and above the others.
