Malaysians have more worries than before - they can't wear anything yellow in public - shirts, shoes, pants, tie and even underwear.

If you do, you can be arrested and detained under sections 3(1) and 4(1) of the Emergency (Public Order and Prevention of Crime) Ordinance 1969.

Section 3(1) provides for the arrest and detention of any person without warrant or trial under grounds contained in 4(1) that the person is acting in a manner prejudicial to public order, to suppress violence, or prevent other crimes for any period not exceeding two years.

The nationwide Royal Malaysian police force had associated wearing the yellow T-shirts or shoes with sedition, provocation and prejudice, or acting in a manner prejudicial to public order. Inspector General of Police Ismail Omar said anything which could be construed by the police as seditious or has elements of threats would face the repercussions. (Reference: Malaysiakini Report)

Even those who wear t-shirts for a gotong-royong event in Taman Pelangi, Johor, were arrested. (Reference: Reported by Malaysiakini)

"Negara Bersih, Rakyat bertuah" -'A clean nation, a fortunate people'. Oh, sorry, it's yellow!!! The gotong royong group should have use black or red, not yellow.

Last week the police had called national laureate A Samad Said to give a statement over his poem recital during a Bersih 2.0 event. He is being investigated under Section 4(1)(b) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 27(5) of the Police Act 1967 which is related to unlawful assembly.

If you are arrested for yellow shirts or shoes, you may even be charged for waging war on the Yang diPertuan Agong.

30 Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) members, including Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jeyakumar were investigated for “waging war against the Yang DiPertuan Agong.” Deputy Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said remand orders would be applied to detain the 30 activists under Section 122 of the Penal Code.

The group of 30 people were detained, including 14 women and aged between 16 and 64, while traveling in a bus from Sungai Petani towards Penang to attend a function. Out of the 30 the police detained six Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) members and they will be charged under the Emergency Ordinance for waging war against the King.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar said the six, including Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj, have been found to be involved with foreign and subversive elements. (The Star Reported & also reported at The Malaysian Insider)

Under Section 122 of the Penal Code, “Whoever collects or attempts to collect men, arms or ammunition, or otherwise prepares to wage war with the intention of either waging or being prepared to wage war against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or any of the Rulers or the Yang di-Pertua Negeri or abets the waging or the preparation of such war, shall be punished with imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a term not exceeding twenty years, and shall also be liable to fine.”

Section 122 was used to prosecute militant terrorist group Al Ma’unah who were involved in an audacious arms heist at an army camp in 2000 and a tense stand-off in the jungles of Perak in 2000. Now it will be used more freely.

Anything can be seditious now. It's such sensitive to the Barisan Nasional government ... anything, albeit with exceptions; such as Ibrahim Ali's rhetorical call for crusade against Christians, and a group of silat experts who warn those July 9 participants that they should expect violence. Malay daily Utusan Malaysia carried a report saying that more than 50,000 Silat exponents are prepared to “wage war” with Bersih activists.

It was also reported that Mahaguru (grandmaster) of the Pertubuhan Seni Silat Lincah Malaysia (PSSLM) Omardin Mauju threatened to “wage war” against Bersih activists and he will be meeting with 180 silat lincah masters from across the country (Reported at: freemalaysiatoday.com and Reported at Malaysia-Today)

BTW, Prime Minister Najib Razak said: "Practitioners and members of the silat martial arts can be regarded as the third line of defence prepared to safeguard the nation's sovereignty from enemies" (Reference: Silat 'warriors' third line of nation's defence: Najib) I'm sure the reference of "Enemy" is not Singapore, or America or China. Your guess is as good as mine.

It can be observed that government of Najib is getting paranoid and distressed, with the police suffering from nostalgia and defective vision and insane delusion - they captivated illusory enemies. Even those lawyers who had represented plaintiff or defendants on legal issues related to religion 0r the constitutional rights of individuals can be classified as an enemy of Islam or anti-Islam. Datuk S. Ambiga may lose her Malaysian Citizenship because she is Bersih 2.0 Chairperson. Malacca Chief Minister Ali Rustam has called on the federal government to strip S Ambiga of her citizenship for being the chairperson of Bersih 2.0 (Reference: Reported at Malaysiakini and at youtube)

I think Ambiga will not lose her citizenship; she will only be required to stay at the new Kamunting detention centre which was only renovated lately. I told Ambiga that the newly renovated place is quite nice and she would likely be the first guest of honor soon; she agreed.

Some people, boss? Siapa? Ali Rustam? Ibrahim Ali? Mahathir? We Malaysians should be worried over these "some people".

Umno supports MACC & Police in whatsoever

About 60 members of the Ampang Umno division today gathered in the KL city centre in support of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the police.

The protest was led by division chief Ismail Kijo.

Also present were members from the Umno divisions in Pandan and Gombak.

Ismail said the MACC and the police should be allowed to continue to investigate Pakatan Rakyat leaders for corruption.

He also warned the people not to politicise the death of Teoh Beng Hock at the MACC building.

"Don't exploit his death and don't evoke racial sentiments," he warned.

I am under no illusions that Umno is bound for destruction on its present course. Neither do I hold unrealistic expectations about the possibility of reform when the rot has gone so deep.

I am the last person to entertain illusions about the ease of reforming Umno. The party that I joined half a century ago as an idealistic young man has indeed lost its soul. It has become corrupt, this corruption has weakened it, and as it grows weaker it is tempted more and more to fan racial feeling and abuse public institutions to maintain power. This is a death spiral.

The Malay cause was not premised on an eternal zero sum game between the native and the immigrant. We meant to build a nation united by a prosperous, confident and enlightened Malay community, not a permanent state of divide and rule by political lowlife. We meant to foster Malay leadership worthy of national leadership, and we looked to our common future as Malaysia rather than to our past as people accidentally brought together by colonial history.

Our major public institutions and our political system have degenerated to the point that the public no longer trusts them. A democratic system of government cannot function below a certain threshhold of public confidence. The suspicious death of Teoh Beng Hock under the custody of a watchdog body reporting directly to a prime minister who has his own public confidence issues may have pushed us below that threshhold.

What we must do now goes beyond political parties. We need the rakyat to rise up to claim their institutions, and demand that our public institutions are answerable to them. We must wake up to our sovereignty as citizens, reclaim the constitution which constitutes us as a nation and guarantees our rights, and demand a comprehensively reformed government to restore public confidence. We must do this before it is too late.

BN rules Perak now

Congratulations to Barisan Nasional government for taking over the state government of Perak.

The BN state assemblymen and women with the help and guidance of the police managed to grab the State Assembly Speaker and drag him to a changing room to emasculate him and forcibly take over control of the state legislature.

Thereafter, they pronounced the taking over of the state legislature by appointing a new speaker and will now rule the state with the police force.

It wasn't easy for BN to win; it was a hard fought battle. But what counts is: a win is still a win.

The episode clearly illustrate a democratic form of government and a peaceful ending for the Pakatan Rakyat government. In fact, the Regent of Perak was there to grace the occasion.

What is much more applauding is the enormous tasks of the police force and the riot police who manned the stateassembly building, ensuring that only those authorised and acceptable to them were allowed to enter the legislating forum. More importantly is that those who wear black are screen thoroughly and any terroristic elements were culled and incarcerated.

The Pakatan government had proven that they are not able to rule as civil servants would not cooperate with them and the police have always being suspicious of them, whether it is cow or cars, or chinadolls.

From today's lessons we have learnt that the legislature and the law-makers are under the peace-keeping control of the police and as long as they are obedient and remain a good citizens in their book the legislative body would be allowed to function.

The event proved that the police would do what they believed is right, to them, and are empowered to remove any elected representatives and speaker of the legislature, in accordance to the specific type of rules and policies which is now considered having overriding power and privilege over and above the law-making body of representatives.

As such, the federal government legislative body must also learn to behave.

The speaker of the parliament must also behave as he should be reminded of the way he can be removed and dragged out.

We are now a civil obedient country; aman, damai dan makmur.

Obama must learn from us.

Zambry stressed that Pakatan reps should understand that the majority rules the state assembly.

"We cannot allow the tyranny of the minority. The minority cannot rule," he said.

Zambry also expressed regret that the opposition acted rudely and impolitely and failed to respect the royal institution by making the Perak Regent wait for six hours.

"They acted using laws of the jungle and did not respect the rules," he said.

False police report lodged against Malaysiakini

A movement calling itself Gagasan Melayu Perak (GMP) has lodged a police report against Malaysiakini over a news report which the website had not published.

In the police report, GMP president Mohd Hilmi Ismail claimed that Malaysiakini had published an article insulting the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, and Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah.

The said article, headlined ‘Raja Nazrin defends monarchy against ridicule’, was allegedly published by Malaysiakini on Tuesday.

GMP hoped that the Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture would take action against the website for abusing information technology without considering the implication on national security.

But a check revealed that no such report was published by the online news daily.

Malaysiakini contacted GMP this morning to seek clarification over the police report and was told by Mohd Hilmi that he was not aware if Malaysiakini had carried such a report before going to the police.

“I didn’t know about the said article. I was informed by my staff and I lodged a report,” he said.

When asked if he realised that he could have tarnished Malaysiakini reputation with his police report, Mohd Hilmi asked: “Isn’t Malaysiakini the same as Malaysian Today or some other blogs?”

About an hour after contacting Mohd Hilmi, GMP's legal advisor Nor Ali Nordin called Malaysiakini to apologise for their error.

"My president (Mohd Hilmi) just spoke to me and we would like to apologise to Malaysiakini for our mistake," he said.

GMP also blamed Utusan Malaysia for confusing the issue and naming Malaysiakini in its report.

"We have informed Utusan Malaysia to make the necessary corrections," said the unsigned statement from the movement's legal advisor.

But Malaysia Today is already dead! RPK had pronounced the death of Malaysia Today long time ago. The son of Malaysia Today is mt.m2day.org. How could a president of an organization not know this? How could he not know the difference between Malaysiakini and Malaysia Today? Did he know mothers are women, and wife are women too? Did he not know 1Malaysia or Negara Ku? Didn't we have Tanjung Rambutan and Tampoi? Didn't they have proper security for the people? Didn't .... ah, never mind lah!

Islam supports ISA?

32 Muslims Organization and Malay Organizations have got together under the Related Bodies Cooperation Network (Pewaris) marched to the Jalan Tun Razak Police Station in a demonstration to support the use of the Internal Security Act (ISA) against those rakyat, who were in their opinions, are elements threatening the country's harmony and who they think are elements who stirred racial sentiments.

Pewaris is also preparing a memorandum to be submitted to the Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

At the Jalan Tun Razak Police Station they made reports directed at those who spoke out against the ISA and the Fatwa against Tomboys. The report were also directed at Hindraf and those who question Malay Rights or rights which they believed belongs to the Malays.

At the same time, the police today moved in to disperse a group of people who had gathered at a field in Ampang Jaya since 8pm for the launch of an anti-ISA campaign.

In the process, it is learnt that about seven people have been arrested for failing to disperse.

Police light strike force unit started dispersing the crowd - numbering less than 100 - at about 9.26pm just as PAS vice-president Mohammad Sabu started to address the crowd.

The campaign was organised by the Abolish ISA Movement (GMI). It was to be launched by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

GMI chairperson Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh was also present at the venue since early evening.

GMI secretary E Nalini said that among those arrested were three PAS leaders from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Deputy IGP Ismail Omar warn everyone, including bloggers, not to disturb police investigations by disseminating material or information that is inaccurate or false.

Health Ministry Director-General Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said the Health Ministry prefer to stand by the findings of the medical examination conducted on Mohd Saiful by doctors at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur and not concerned with those from Dr Mohamed Osman from Hospital Pusrawi.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said the Government will not direct the police to drop its investigations into the Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sodomy case just because a medical report said the complainant had not been sodomised. Syed Hamid said the medical report from Hospital Pusrawi was “just one piece of evidence in a whole chain of evidences” at which the police were looking.

Syed Hamid also said it was unethical for the medical report to be leaked, as this constituted a breach of trust between the doctor and patient, and urged the medical fraternity to look into this.

Sodominologist's dissertation

The police would not accept a doctor's examination from the govt. funded hospital? Funny? It seems they preferred something else; we don't know. A medical report is a piece of legal tender which would be used in the court to determine the allegations against a person accused of the said crime and such evidence is enough to derail the burden of proof. Criminal law requires that the burden of proof must be beyond reasonable doubt; this piece of evidence cut-through this essence of actus reas and create doubts unless that Dr Mohamed Osman produced another Statutory Declaration to declare his own fraudulent act or would stand in the court to denounced his own findings or claimed that the document is fraudulent.

The justice system cannot pick and choose evidences; they cannot be seen to have preferences over a bulk of evidences. Saiful was at the Pusrawi hospital at 2pm and the medical examination report said there was no evidence of foreign object that had trespassed his anus. Saiful was at the KL Hospital at 6pm and even if the doctors's findings did show that his arsie had been trespassed by a dick, then the court would have to consider whether Saiful had got himself raped during the 4 hour lapse or the prosecution must proved causation and that the chain was not broken during that lapse time or there was sufficient evidence to show that Anwar was the person who did it between 2pm-6pm on that day.

What is puzzling is that Home Minister Syed Albar, himself a lawyer, and competent in law, could beyond legal comprehension states that “just one piece of evidence in a whole chain of evidences” at which the police were looking. In Criminal Law, just one piece of evidence is sufficient to create an element of doubt which derails the burden of proof beyond reasonable doubt. That statement implied some thoughts and motives that belied the intention of the pursuer. It sounds like: "we will nail him at all cost." Maybe, Parliament can consider to amend the penal code and the strict burden of proof and make it easier to prosecute and indict; but that would itself made the country's justice system an international clown.

We hope that the law makers and the executives would have common sense and the intellect to discern. The world is watching Malaysia and we may be grouped alongside Zimbabwe and the 4th World Pariah Nations.

There is no evidence that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was sodomised, according to the doctor who examined him four hours before he lodged a police report alleging he was sexually assaulted by PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim.

It is believed that Saiful went to two different hospitals on June 28 - the day he lodged the police report claiming that he was sodomised by his ex-boss.

He first went to Hospital Pusrawi (Pusat Rawatan Islam) in Jalan Tun Razak - a government-linked Islamic medical institution - at about 2pm.

According to a copy of the medical report obtained by malaysiakini yesterday, Saiful went to the hospital complaining of 'tenesmus' - a medical term for difficulty and pain in passing motion.

He was examined by Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid, the medical officer on duty.

The doctor said that the patient had alleged he was assaulted by the intrusion of a piece of "plastic" in the anus.

Mohamed Osman, according to his medical report which was recorded at 2.14pm, found "zero active bleeding", "zero ulcer or pus", "zero tear and scar" in Saiful's anus.

He also stated that Saiful appeared "alert", "comfortable", "not pale" and did not show any fever symptoms.

A senior Pusrawi official told malaysiakini this morning that the hospital had launched an internal investigation on how Saiful's medical report was leaked.

When malaysiakini showed him a copy of the report, he refused to return it saying, "It's our document."

Mohamed Osman, in his report's concluding remarks, advised Saiful to go to a government hospital so as "to rule out" assault and sodomy.

At 6pm on that day, Saiful went to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for his second medical examination. He subsequently lodged a report against Anwar at the police beat at the hospital.

According to an expert who has dealt with rape and sodomy cases, the victim must provide a second medical examination in a government hospital.

She said the court will only accept evidence from a government hospital but the first medical examination must collaborate with the second report, otherwise this could be challenged during the trial.

"From the report, the doctor had failed to find any evidence to support the patient's complaint. That was why he asked the patient to go to a government hospital to conclusively rule out assault or sodomy," said the expert who requested anonymity.

The doctor was said to be under tremendous stress as a result of the police interrogation and was advised by the hospital to take leave.

A check at the emergency unit where Mohamed Osman is attached revealed that he has taken leave since last week.

Apparently, it was reported at Malaysia-Today's blog that the medical doctor was lockup for 3 days by the police for "interrogation purpose".

Raja Petra's Malaysia-Today alleged that the doctor was directed to re-write his medical report to affirm that there were something that can relate the anus trespassing but the doctor refused to write a new daVinci Code.

Analytical Dissertation

Maybe, this is the reason that the police need some new DNA samples which the old samples cannot do. However, Prime Minister Pak Lah said the old DNA samples from Anwar had expired and thus a new sample is needed to collaborate and demystify.

Some people said this new scientific findings was discovered when our scientist conducted various tests at the International Space Station of which the results of the tests indicate that there is a high probability that DNA samples can expire over time if not properly utilized and stored.

However, the American and Russian scientists have yet to concur with the research findings and thus they could not confirm this hypothesis neither could they dispute the validity.

It is sad to note that American and Russian scientists have slackened and are far behind our Malaysian scientists in their medical research. We hope that the Americans will work hard to catch up with our progress; otherwise, they will face a drop in their International Rating and may rank below us.

BMC: "No violence used," says FRU.

How did 23-year-old mechanic Chang Jiun Haur suffered grievous bodily harm with broken nose, broken teeth and concussion?

FRU says they never used violence at all; they politely asked Chang to get down from his car.

Lance corporal Fariz Abdul Samad, who was supervising a FRU squad at the scene, told this to the Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) today.

"There was no reason for us to hit or bang the car. We only wanted them (the driver and the passengers) to come out," Fariz said when he was grilled by Suhakam.

According to Fariz, it appeared that Chang’s foot was still on the accelerator pedal.

Fariz also denied that the FRU personnel together with plainclothes policemen had assaulted Chang. "I did not see it (the assault) and I believe there was no violence," he said, maintaining this stand throughout the entire inquiry session. He also explained that there was no order given to charge towards the car.

The inquiry panel members also asked Fariz if he had witnessed any FRU personnel being injured in the incident. The lance corporal replied that he was not aware of any injuries at that moment but had later accompanied the two personnel to file a police report and seek medical treatment at the Kajang Hospital.

The duo were identified as constable Mohd Azniey Ahmad Supian, who sustained injuries to his right thumb, and constable Muhammad Firdaus Abdul Rasid who was injured in the knee.

At this juncture, head of the Suhakam panel commissioner Zaiton Othman instructed to replay the 30-minute video clip evidence on the incident. She then asked Fariz to identify himself and to prove that the FRU personnel were hit by the car.

However, Fariz was unable to pinpoint his position but asserted that he was close enough to see his officers being knocked by the car. Following this, Suhakam commissioner Dr Chiam Heng Keng asked if he had rushed to the aid of the injured personnel, to which Fariz replied: "I did not, I was focussed on what was happening around me. I had to prevent my troops from more harm.“

Chang must have intentionally beaten up himself so badly in order to gain sympathy! It is not impossible because he will get some mileage if he showed he was abused by police.

I remembered many years ago Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has suggested in the court hearing that Anwar Ibrahim's black-eye injury was self-inflicted.

Dr Mahathir told reporters that Mr Anwar might have hurt himself to gain public sympathy. "It's not impossible because he will get plenty of mileage if he showed he was abused by police," Dr Mahathir was quoted as saying by the national news agency Bernama. (Read the news here).

Anwar sent to Hospital for DNA test?

The police have taken PKR de facto Anwar Ibrahim to Hospital Kuala Lumpur. It is believed that the opposition leader will undergo DNA tests.

Anwar arrived at the hospital's emergency unit at about 8.50pm. Some 40 police personnel have been deployed in the area.

The politician was later taken to the hospital's royal ward.

Meanwhile, PKR supreme council member and Selangor exco Dr Xavier Jeyakumar confirmed that Anwar and his lawyer R Sivarasa have gone to the hospital.

Anwar is expected to be brought back to the police headquarters in about an hour.

At the afternoon parliamentary debate today, it is observed that both Khairy Jamaluddin and Mukhriz Mahathir already had the police report made by Saiful and also had read the medical reports of Saiful; on the contrary, Anwar and his family had not been given a copy of these reports. That's funny and puzzling!!!

Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (PKR-Permatang Pauh) asked Khairy how he had come to know the police was in need of her husband's DNA sample.

“How does Rembau know the content of the police report when we, the affected party, have not gotten hold of the police report?” she asked.

Khairy shot back by pointing out that the police investigation against Anwar was related to a sodomy charge, and thus DNA would be required as part of the probe.

“Sodomy allegations indicate that there is anal intercourse, that there was penetration. So you need DNA to prove (that the act took place),” he said.

Mukhriz rubbed insult to injury when he said he believed the truth in the “despicable” crime allegedly committed by Anwar.

Muhkriz: “I believe that Anwar did it! He did that despicable thing! That’s why I challenge, as Rembau did just now - give the DNA!”

He also slammed Pakatan Rakyat Muslims MPs for insisting on more stringent standards of evidence as contained in Islamic laws for accusations of sexual violations.

Mukhriz: “There are leaders over there who are demanding for four witnesses (to the alleged act of sodomy). How can there be four witnesses? They would have sinned if they saw the commission of the act but did not do anything to stop it!”

Traffic Summonses: Discount starts today

Traffic summonses will be given a discount of between 30-50% from today, said Federal Traffic chief Datuk Hamza Taib.

30% remission for unpaid summonses issued previously; 50% discount for those given out from today.

All discounts are for compoundable offenses only.

No discounts will be given for summonses issued during Ops Sikap, beating traffic lights, causing road accidents and summonses with warrants of arrest.

No discounts for sodomy offenses too.

Licence to kill: A new paradigm

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad was half right when he said doctors were given the "licence to heal" as well as the "licence to kill" and there's no need to apologize as well as he would not apologize.

This is the new age where mob rules. We have seen that in Batu Buruk and various other incidences.

Yesterday, a group of thugs sat on the concrete blocks erected by Grand Saga Sdn Bhd, the concessionaire for the Cheras-Kajang Highway. They are stationed there to prevent the residents from removing the barricades and they threatened to attack anyone who have the guts to go near the barricade. They were armed with sticks and helmets.

However, the residents believed that this country is a democratic country and not a police state. We have laws and we have police to protect the people. The residents tried to approach the barricade to remove the concrete blocks. To their surprise the thugs attacked them and several residents have to be taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained. Four of the residents were arrested; the thugs left.

Several policemen present during the incident had failed to intervene.

Kajang police chief Shakaruddin Che Mood, however, said they were only traffic policemen whom he had sent to the area for traffic control.

“They were too busy controlling traffic and could not do anything,” he told reporters.

This is the new age of professional thug services. Organizations are now engaging this professional service to perform critical tasks. The point must be noted that the residents are arrested because they engage the professional thugs in a fight. I'm not sure, but it is observed that the thugs are "certified", "accredited" and most likely granted special privilege "licence".

Many organizations are now employing ex-police senior officers to be their executive directors as well as safety and health directors. It works and ex-servicemen are great performers. They had good connections and loyal friends who would assist them to protect the people whom are privileged.

Those who need employment and those unemployed graduates who are interested to be employed as mobbers or thuggers can consider joining this new profession. The government may need to consider whether to regulate this professionals and register them with the Malaysian Quality Agency (MQA).

A curiosity-seeker who wanted to know what was going on at the site of the disputed barricade near Bandar Mahkota Cheras was beaten up by the police.

Chang, 21, his sister and two friends were driving away from the site of the barricade about 11.30pm, when their car was surrounded by police personnel who had earlier dealt with a fracas involving BMC residents.

A high-ranking police officer at the scene claimed that Chang had run over a FRU personnel with his car.

“He asked for it. He ran over a policeman and he got what he deserved,” the officer told Malaysiakini a few minutes after the incident.

Asked to identify the person who was hit by the car, the officer had initial difficulty in persuading the individual to come forward.

When he did so, the man - who appeared unscathed - claimed: “He tried to run me over...

However, a police officer who took Chang to the Kajang Hospital said none of the personnel had been hit by the car.

Chang Jiun Haur was soaked in his own blood after being repeatedly beaten by 20 riot squad (FRU) personnel armed with batons and kicked with boots.

It is learnt that Chang was placed in the intensive care unit. The other occupants of his car were arrested last night.

We must be law abiding citizens as well as abiding the law enforcers' power and authority as they can act in accordance to any law, or in accordance to any law they could infer. 7 demonstrators arrested in Penang

Seven persons were detained, including a blogger and a woman activist, during a 45-minute anti-Internal Security Act demonstration in George Town, Penang this morning.

Among those were social activist BK Ong and blogger K Satish Kumar, who were arrested after they took part in the demonstration held at Gurney Drive at about 11.10am.

Meanwhile, rights group Suaram activists Lau Shu Shi and Teh Chun Hong were detained after they lodged police reports at the city police headquarters in Jalan Patani, Georgetown at 2.45pm.

Bloggers News: Jeff Ooi & Raja Petra

Federal traffic chief SACII Datuk Hamza said Jeff Ooi's car had to be towed because it was to facilitate the arrival of the Yang di Pertuan Agong.

Jeff's car was obstructing the traffic flow outside parliament. In fact the police only towed Jeff's car to the parking bay inside the Parliament compound and no summon was issued.

Did the police do anything wrong? Or wasn't they carrying out their duty?

Was it unkind to tow the car inside the compound?

We had to call a spade a spade. In all fairness it was just a trivial issue and it need not be a headline news.

Meanwhile, Raja Petra Kamarudin was released by the police without his statement recorded.

The police wanted to record his statement purportedly pertaining to an article he wrote about Altantunya and Najib at Malaysia-Today. He was suppose to be charged with sedition and also under S.233 CMA 1998, based on a report lodged against him. The report was lodged by a police officer whom the police refuse to reveal.

Raja Petra refused to give his statement and gave the police two options: either let him walk out of the police department without his statement being taken or to arrest him. The police chose the first option.

The uneasy thing about this issue is the fact that the person who lodged a police report is himself a police officer. What is his locus standi, and would it not cause uneasiness to the pubic in general that any police officer can make any kinds of reports against anybody and that somebody will be charged for a crime which the police officer who in his personal opinion believed it was seditious and therefore would himself make a police report so that the police department would investigate and call on the accused for interrogation and possibly be charged for a crime which the police officer is convinced in his personal opinion to be seditious and the whole police contingent giving its approval.

I hope we have not become a police state; it is scary! Where is the IPCMC? It is clear now that without IPCMC the rakyat is at the mercy of a few who had personal beliefs and convictions over certain misdirected ideology and belief system.

The parliament had reconvene. Could the parliamentarians do something essential and necessary to provide adequate confidence that the public and the citizens are safe under the new government? 20 opposition MPs could do nothing; 82 MPs also can do nothing? Something is truly wrong.

Police firm, fair and integrid

The police this morning rejected an invitation by the Pakatan Rakyat and Selangor MB to go to the Selangor menteri besar’s office in Shah Alam to take the required statements.

Instead the police are asking the PKR leaders - including party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim and party vice-president Azmin Ali - to go to the Selangor police headquarters, also in Shah Alam.

The police wants MB to know who is the boss; if Khir Toyo, they may go, but not Khalid. The police have wide discretions to decide whether to go or to insist you come. They can also detain anyone as long as they say they suspect something that is criminal in nature.

Don't forget that they have informed you clearly of their slogan: Tegas, Adil dan Berhemas -

They are firm - Tegas - if they said you go to the police station, you go.

They are fair - Adil - the law gave them the discretions to direct the recording of statements in a place they are empowered to decide.

They have integrity - Berhemas - they do not bow low to MB or ministers; they will not negotiate or compromise the way they do things unless their boss says so or at least the PM said so. The integrity of the police cannot be challenged.

Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan today announced that the police motto of Mesra, Cepat dan Betul (Friendly, Efficient and Accurate) has been replaced with Tegas, Adil dan Berhemah (Firm, Fair and with Integrity).

Musa said the change is designed to satisfy current circumstances and public expectations.

“The police need to be tegas (firm) in their duties in order to be efficient and respected. Tegas does not mean use of force, but firm commitment in fulfilling our duties and responsibilities,” he explained.

In 1994, the police force adopted the Cepat dan Betul motto. This was updated to Mesra, Cepat dan Betul motto in 1999.

Musa added that, from today, the police would replace their Saya Anti-Rasuah (I am against corruption) badge with one that reads Integrity Amalan Kita (We practice integrity).

Roses are sinister, at times

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi condemned those Indians who wanted to sent roses to him. He said they are illegals and are holding a Hindraf rally.

So far, we had observed, the prime minister had accepted flowers and roses from Puteri UMNO and some other women.

We don't know why the prime minister had conjured the present intention of the Indians as something sinister. Is it the Indian thing?

No, it's not the Indian thing. The reason is, it spoilt his mood.

Inspirasi dah sampai, NST exclaims. This gathering to present the PM the red and yellow roses must have spoilt his mood and hurt his inspiration. He may never had another inspiration again, just like those emotional stress encountered by dysfunction sexual partners.

Those Indians should have sent the flowers through Samy Vellu or Michelle Yeoh or Puteri UMNO. I'm sure the PM would have accepted it.

But the Indians chose to sent it themselves. They even applied for a police permit to gather as a group to meet the prime minister. But the police would not grant the permit because they have sinister feelings, just like the PM's feelings. As such, the gathering becomes illegal, not because it is illegal, but because it was made illegal.

Why did the PM and police thinks the flower presentation is bad?

Because the PM thinks these Indians are bad for polls; that it was a mockery to the democratic process.

But democratic process means the people have rights of expression and rights to assemble peacefully?

The PM don't think so. To him, democratic process means citizens must agree with whatever the government and the ruling party do and act. It include agreeing to what the PM thinks, and what he desires, which he thinks is good. For example, he thinks his MPs are clean, therefore we must accept his MPs as clean; he thinks the police and ACA are efficient and clean, we must also agree. He thinks Lingham is drunk and mad, we also will agree. He thinks there's no corruption and his children did not benefit enough as yet, we also will agree. He thinks and that's why he sleeps at meetings and conferences, and we must understand that he is not sleeping but thinking in his sleep which is still thinking, and not sleeping. So, please don't think he sleeps; he's thinking in his sleep, and that's thinking, not sleeping.

More Pain & More Anguish!

Sharlinie was kidnapped and not found. It's more than 2 weeks now and yet the ongoing police search leads to nothing; no signs, no symptom, no clues.

But police said they were fruitful. The police justified this by proving that they had conducted several search operations in search of Sharlinie's abductors and had netted a total of 185 illegal immigrants and illegal workers.

So, it was a great effort and fruitful scoop.

However ACP Arjunaidi Mohammed was quick to emphasise that the operations were conducted to locate Sharlinie and not aimed at ferreting out illegal immigrants. The police are looking for Sharlinie and not illegal immigrants.

So, the illegal immigrants and workers now sigh a great relief. They can feel safe and comfortable with the assurance from the District Police Chief.

In the search for Sharlinie, the police conducted their searches at various construction work sites. Why do they think Sharlinie could possibly be placed at work sites, I am puzzled. Maybe, it's not to leave any stone unturn; maybe, construction sites are playgrounds for illegals and criminals; Maybe Sharlinie was abducted and had to perform hard labor at construction works. Maybe, and so many maybe.

Despite the best efforts by the police and forensic units, no trace of Sharlinie, who went missing on Jan 9, was detected.

The police force seems unable to do much about Sharlinie. They couldn't do much about Nurin. They couldn't do much about so many other crime cases - rape cases, robbery cases, Mat Rempit cases.

But one thing they are effective and highly capable.


The police arrested 56 people who took part in an illegal assembly to protest rising prices.

The NST reported that, about 200 people took part in a demonstration near Suria KLCC shopping center. The protest was organized by PROTES (the Coalition Against Inflation).

The police went as far as possible to get the courts to grant an injunction to bar the gathering and to get the court to empower them to arrest those who participated in the gathering.

The police were at full force to act. About 1,300 policemen were on duty to carry out the arrest. Federal Reserve Units (FRU) were later called in to handle those who resists arrest.

No wonder the criminals are a damn happy lots. In fact the aspiring criminals were extremely delighted as they see themselves as successful entrepreneurs of the future. They know there aren't enough police personnels to deal with their plan and targets. They can now plan their targets when there is demonstrations or gatherings or vigils because the whole police contingent would be deployed to arrest protesters and leave them safe to conduct their businesses.

Yesterday, I was driving around KL areas and did not go to KLCC and the golden triangle areas. The drive was free flow. In fact the cars were at high speed and almost every car overtook me, including proton hatchback, Wira, Waja, Kancils and Kenaris. I was wondering what's the reason there weren't roadblocks and speed-traps at various certified and specified locations around KL. The journey yesterday confirmed there was none. I thought the police had rested yesterday; but now I know they were not resting; they were hard at work at KLCC.

The people are not allowed to protest against rising prices. They were not allowed to submit memorandum to the King. They were not allowed to submit memo to the British High Commission. They were not allowed to celebrate Human Rights Day. They were not allowed Freedom Walk. They were not allowed to carry out a vigil. No, the police is against these events.

It's now the primary duties of police to stop demonstrations; it's now a secondary role of the police to catch criminals, because they are hard to catch and they made the police job difficult but the protesters made the police job easy as they gather together as a group, within a confined area, and have proper identifications such as printings on T-shirts, caps, banners, flags, etc.

The criminals are not so cooperative. They do not gather in groups at specific areas and do not apply for permits to conduct their operations. They do not shout slogans to identify their intentions. They just go quietly doing their jobs and leaving no traces of their crimes. Why can't the criminals conduct themselves like those protesters so that the police can sent a contingent of personnels and FRUs to arrest them? Why can't the criminals cooperate with the police and make the life of our police easier? Afterall, they too are Malaysian citizens, just like PROTES members, BERSIH members, and HINDRAF members.

Has the police being made the new enemies of the people? Had the police made themselves much hated by the people?

Had the police being made the new buddies of the criminals? Had the police made themselves much loved by the criminals?

Maybe, Merdeka Centre for Opinion Research should conduct two more surveys or polls, one from the ordinary people and another from those criminals and those aspiring criminals, to understand the people better.

Najib's Moral Code

Najib: Let scandal be a warning

Deputy Prime Minister Najib warned all Barisan Nasional leaders and members to learn a lesson from the resignation of health minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

They have also been told to behave themselves so as not to embarrass the party.

Najib said party members must exercise discipline and abide by the code of conduct of the party. Najib reminded party members to behave appropriately.

Malaysians may not have forgotten the sexual research expedition that took place at Port Dickson some years back. Maybe, Najib may want to consider that incident before he talks about the moral code.

Let's not talk about Altantunya, lest it's construed subjudice.

Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said:"He (Dr Chua) made the right decision. He said Dr Chua would remain a friend, "although what is wrong is still wrong, a friend is still a friend".

Hindrafs release: Johari suggests it was govt's decision

The decision to drop the attempted murder charge against 31 people arrested at an illegal assembly in Batu Caves does not mean the authorities will go soft on rule violators, and neither does it reflect any future decision made against the group.

Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Johari Baharom said as far as the Government was concerned, it would not tolerate any group that threatened the country’s peace and security.

“Whatever decision made (on the 31 people) does not mean that we will go soft. Stern action will be taken against those who are a threat to the country’s security.

“We will continue to be strict on this matter. We will not compromise anything that involves national security,” he said yesterday, at the ministry’s quality and integrity day.

Dear Johari, are you saying that it was the government's decision on the 31 Hindraf's release and not the Attorney-General's decision? You are a minister and AG is a government servant who is employed to dispense the job of a legal advocate and Barrister. Are you suggesting that it was the Prime Minister's directive to the AG to drop the charges? If that's the case, you would have implied that the prime minister can direct the AG to drop any cases such as those of corruption and abuses of power, and it brings us to the hypothesis, that is, was the PM involved in the investigation and dropping of cases involving you, the IGP and the former ACA chief who were all investigated for corruption and abuses. There is also the Zakaria case, the Close-One-Eye case, and also Nazri's case with the taxi permits.

Dear Johari, whatever you had said in this article about the need to uphold national security is correct, correct, correct. But what about the video of koret, koret, koret? And what about Rahim Tamby Chik's threat to parang... have you forgotten and are the police and AG also waiting for the PM's instruction?

The Duke University had discovered that monkeys performed about as well as parliamentarians at mental addition. Jessica Cantlon, a cognitive neuroscience researcher at Duke University research study shows that monkeys performed about as well as college students at mental addition.

The research follows the findings by Japanese researchers earlier that young chimpanzees performed better than human adults at a memory game.


“It shows when you take language away from a human, they end up looking just like monkeys in terms of their performance,” said Jessica Cantlon whose work appeared in the Public Library of Science Journal PLoS Biology (www.plosbiology.org )

Mediators to help resolve racial woes

Taking the maxim "prevention is better than cure" to heart, the government is setting up a mechanism to nip racial problems in the bud.

Communal Mediation Committees will be set up throughout the country from early next year.

These committees will work with the police to help diffuse racial tension.

(Well, the pilot committee has a trial run recently at Batu Cave, and it work quite well;

they managed to diffuse the racialist movement without violence, except a brick accidentally hit a police;

other than that there was no untoward incident;

the people had a good shower in that early morning though it was cold but humid.

After shower, they were treated with sauna and turkish steams. All of them stayed within that compound to enjoy the steam and turkish bath and they said they had fun as can be seen in their eyes; there were tears, they must be so moved by that goodwill gestures...)

Dear Prof, You have forwarded a great point. But you seems to miss so many points. We are also unique in another aspect: We have the Police investigating the ACA chief, and the ACA chief investigating the Deputy Internal Security Minister and the IGP, and the Internal Security Ministry assigning the Police Commercial Crime Department to arrest an alleged gangster instead of the Narcotics Department. We also have the Commercial Crime Chief being indicted for misusing a helicopter after they couldn't find sufficient evidence to trace his $27 million.

Isn't it unique? Isn't it something you can't find anywhere else?

Owing to widespread complaints and calls for more consultation, the cabinet decided to defer the Special Complaints Commission Bill 2007 to the next Dewan Rakyat sitting slated for March.

Minister without portfolio and hiding in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said the move was to give MPs more time to study the bill's details.

Hello Datuk Seri Nazri, your MPs are going for Christmas holidays and some are going to Perth. Patrick also going to Perth. However, Nasi Kandar in Perth sudah tutup kedai, so you have to eat maggie mee.

BTW, DS Nazri, do you think you MPs will take the trouble to study the details? After all their job is just to say YES to you, NO to anyone from Soyuz or Moon. And even if they should try to study, many of them lack the intelligentia to do so. This is not a Bill about women's clothes, leaking, masuk sikit, and AirAsia slit-dresses, areas of knowledge that they are competent in. If you do observe, DS Nazri, your MPs are far more awake and active when the subject matters are about women... they had so much passion about women; they love women irrespective of age; they want to give their love... But SCC, they don't understand the philosophy and doctrine; they can't digest. And for some who could, they felt useless as they are ordered to say YES all the time; this is called Barisan Whip.

Nevermind. So is it Christmas gifts? or is it a precursor?

The heart is willing, but the spirit can't. What they do today or tomorrow is rhetorics. After election, we have UMNO election and general assembly. Many young UMNO turks are aspiring for positions. The veterans are also determined to stay on. There are also veterans who were yesteryears leaders who are also eyeing for some positions. So, the battle begins and all the participants needs issues even if there is none. Where else can they find it except with religion and race, and the claim of being discriminated by the other races, uneven playing fields after the fields have being leveled tilted-over, and if no others, find something else, like, crosses at missionary schools, AirAsia dresses, tudong, holding hands or kissings, but one aspects they do not realise within is ...it is observed that there is now a new potential force within the movement; the Indian within. They have now become a potent force. They are Malays and are Muslims. They have the capacity and influence to tilt the power and votes. So whoever aspires to any political position, you will need to align with them. That's the king-maker of UMNO politics.
