I got a shock today!

I slapped myself twice and use eye-MO to clean my eyes.

It's unbelievable and cannot come from one man and from an institution.

Khairy's new philosophical doctrine:

"Fulfilling the vision for our community's advancement would require the confidence to accept competition based on our own on merit and abilities. This is the meaning of 'civilisational confidence' – we fear not our own shadow."

That's damn profound! This must what was taught at Oxford and Cambridge. How did it took him so many years to deliver this theme?

He was absolutely right: the new doctrine of - "civilisational confidence" vs the old doctrine of "delusional supremacy".

There is so much intellectuality and wisdom in his speech today at the Umno Youth General assembly.

According to Khairy's new profound philosophy, "the Malays must get rid of their “siege mentality” and take on the mantle of true leadership, one which includes all the races of Malaysia while not neglecting the plight of the Malays."

Khairy asked the Malays to make the leap to a political struggle based on “civilisational confidence” and help the Prime Minister achieve his 1Malaysia vision.

Definition of Civilisational Confidence

In Khairy's own dictionary, he explained that: “Civilisational Confidence" means as Malays, we are confident of our own ability to move forward, setting out a vision for success without being afraid of our own shadow. This is our generation’s challenge.

In Khairy's own words, "for too long, Malays and Umno have been caught in a mindset that is negative and overly defensive. We feel as though we are constantly under siege, and all our efforts appear to be channeled towards protecting the Malay special position.

“I urge Malays, beginning with the youth, to get out of this siege mentality,” he said.

Khairy noted that Article 153 of the Federal Constitution guarantees the special position of Malays and bumiputras, and stripping it would require the approval of two-thirds of Parliament as well consent from the Council of Rulers.

“But consider this: Article 153 in itself does not guarantee progress and development for the Malays. Constitutional provisions do not make us ‘special’ or extraordinary, it is the performance and achievements of Malays that will determine if we are,” he said.

“Umno and the Malays as a whole must move away from a defensive setting, where we assume that our rights are under threat, to a people equipped with our own civilisational confidence – carving a vision of progress for the future.

“This is the new Malay dilemma, the generational question of our time which must be addressed: Are we going to defend symbols for their sake, or are we bold and courageous enough to accept the reality that there needs to be a change in both vision and mechanisms to see Malays forge ahead? I believe the answer lies in the latter,” he said.

“Guided by the spirit of 1Malaysia, Umno Youth has to abide by a new mission that will be the foundation of our contemporary struggle.

“This is our new mission: To win the support of all Malaysians, and not just the Malays. In our words, agenda and strategy, Umno Youth must operate based on this new mission – giving hope to all Malaysian regardless of race, religion and background,” he said.

“We are now at a crossroads of our cause, where we can choose to remain on the same path with the same style and methods. We can continue with the chest-thumping rhetoric, warning other races never to challenge this or that.

“This option is easy, and may promise a measure of popularity within the party, but we must ask ourselves, is this what Malaysians – Malays included – really want from Umno?

“For the 21st century Umno Youth, the courageous choice is to position ourselves as the pioneers of national unity through the spirit of 1Malaysia,” he said.

“Umno and Umno Youth will always fight for the Malays – protecting the status of Islam, the Malay rulers and the Malay language. These are the core elements of Umno’s struggle that will never dissipate from our agenda.

‘However, we must pursue these things based on two principles: Justice and compassion, especially when dealing with other races. This compass will underline our national agenda that is grounded not in the narrow concept of Malay dominance, but on the concept of Malay leadership – magnanimous as well as both just and compassionate,” he said.

He said that Islam has always guided Umno, and that there should be nothing strange in Malays also fighting for Malaysians as a whole.

“In fact, when we respect the beliefs of others, they too will better respect ours. Allah SWT commands in Surah Al An’am, verse 108: And insult not those who worship besides Allah, lest they insult Allah wrongfully without knowledge,” he said.

“Some may wonder if we should fight for other communities if they question our position as Malays.

“It is here that out leadership credentials will be tested. As the group of people given the responsibility and privilege to lead, Malays cannot simply follow the common beat – that would not be leadership.

“Instead, as leaders, Malays must rise above and go the extra mile. Only then will we have the ability to lead and be acknowledged as leaders who have wider recognition. This is another example of Malay leadership that I spoke of – a leadership that is just and compassionate, and accepted by all,” he said.

Was it a profound discovery or was it his philosophical dictates? Or, was it dictated by 1Malaysia man?

Whatever it is, it was a scary speech. This new doctrine posed a new problematical political journey to a new unknown destination and much will be clearer in the year ahead as time will tell - the truth

How long can this new political philosophy last? We are so used to the discrimination, the suppression and threats; for over the decades we have developed the body and spirit to withstand the onslaught and survived the mental torture and kept our sanity. But now, we would have to breakdown our mental barriers and defenses in order to embrace this newly propounded "love and compassion", more so, as it now comes from one that we shivered to think of.

We now "received" love and compassion - we need to cry out loud; we need to go to churches and temples to offer our thanksgiving for the new extraordinary blessings and extraordinary love and compassion. It's so "cruelly kind" and "cruelly compassionate". We all must cry out loud and shout "hallelujah" .... thank you so much Mr. Khairy, for the love and compassion. Could you and would you remain steadfast to this principles which you had emphatically espoused today? It's hard to believe, but we will try to believe it is true and truthful.

Political writer Yahaya Ismail told Malaysiakini today he merely 'negotiated' with Khairy regarding the copyright of his book 'Tuah dan Sial Khairy Jamaluddin'.

He stressed that the meeting with Pak Lah's son-in-law was "strictly business".

'I told him that he can have the copyright (for the book) if he pays me RM100,000 and Khairy said 'I will tell you tomorrow'.

"When his people sent me back, they asked, 'Can't there be more negotiations (on the price)?'.

"I told them that the price was already low. The next day, his people returned the copy of the book and said 'Khairy has no money, so he is not buying'."

What if he was writing about all the good things and singing praises of the son-in-law? RM100,000? That would have been cheap!

The best gift for Non-Malays from Umno Youth

Deputy Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin officially announced he is going for the top Umno Youth post based on “friendship and unity” as his platform to win delegates’ support.

Khairy said he would be contesting the Umno Youth chief post "not only as a Malay but as a MALAYSIAN" who wished to have the voice of the MULTI-RACIAL YOUTH heard and acted upon.

Khairy made the announcement at his service centre near here at about 4.20pm before a packed press conference.

Khairy said he also hoped to reach out more to young people, in particular, the non-Malays, and find new ways to explain issues deemed sensitive such as Malay rights and the social contract.

“I not only hope to make Umno Youth more vibrant but want to get all youth wings in the component parties to speak in one voice.

“We need a new way of articulating ourselves. I am not contesting as a leader of a Malay youth movement alone but a youth leader for all Malaysians,” Khairy said, adding that "the Barisan youth movement should not be exclusive but “inclusive”.

Khairy said although Umno Youth formed the backbone of the Barisan Nasional youth movement, it would continue to engage the component parties in decision-making.

My God, thank you very much! This is certainly a rare surprise for non-Malays. We had over the years, hardly hear such words from an aspiring Umno Youth Chief.

Over the decades, those aspiring to be Umno Youth Chief uses the race rhetorics to clamour to win support within the party. They often would incite and uses harsh words and often threatening words to show their communal commitment and to display ferocity.

This time we have one man who espoused that his ideological platform is to be the voice of a multi-racial Malaysian, and not just as a Malay leader.

Khairy emphasized that the Umno Youth movement under his leadership will be inclusive and not exclusive. That is certainly applaudable of a man, whom I have rated as a racist, who now have expounded with clarity his current political ideology and philosophy.

I salute him. I hope he is not Cakap Tak Serupa Bikin. Will he? Let's give him the benefit of doubt until we observed otherwise.

KJ to Petronas: I want more details of A/C

Umno Youth deputy chief and son-in-law to the prime minister Khairy Jamaluddin said he wants Petronas to publish a more detailed financial statement and then table it in Parliament so that there is greater transparency.

“The call that I made for Petronas to disclose its financial statement goes above and beyond the annual report that is published on its website.

"The annual report only highlights a summary of Petronas’ financial position without going into any detail.

"I think it is also fair to say that Petronas is not an ordinary corporation," he said.

He was responding to Petronas president and CEO Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican as saying that the corporation’s account had been published and made public for the past 18 years.

Khairy said Petronas had been tasked with safeguarding the nation’s most important natural resource on behalf of the people and, therefore, should be held to a higher level of scrutiny.

He said the financial figures found in Petronas’s annual report did not meet this higher level of scrutiny.

"I would suggest that Petronas commits itself to greater transparency and accountability by agreeing to give a special briefing to all MPs on the company’s corporate activities and financial position, and open the briefing to questions from the floor.

Nor Mohamed Yakcop respond to Khairy's request efficiently

REmbau MP and the son-in-law of the prime minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Petronas should reveal in detail its accounts as the people have a right to know where the national oil company gets its revenue from.

Khairy said petroleum in the country "belongs to the people" and that Petronas was merely the custodian of the resource.

"I do not know why it (Petronas) is not revealing its accounts in detail. I believe the people have a right to know as petrol found in the country belongs to the people.

"Petronas is one of the best-run companies and I am sure there is nothing that can't be defended in their accounts.

"If detailed information on its accounts are not revealed to the public, the people will continue to be suspicious. I hope the government will consider revealing the detailed accounts of Petronas publicly," he said.

Penang SMS is Wrong

Penang Government and the people were lucky. A piece of prime land at Rifle Range that was rumoured to have been transferred to someone by the name of Khairy was found to be untrue. The said land is 163,053 sq ft plot belonging to the Penang Island Municipal Council and at a market price of RM100 per sq ft it is worth some RM16.5 million.

5 former State Gerakan Exco members went to the district land office for a fact-finding mission but they failed to locate the land title. Suddenly someone informed State Local Government, Traffic Management and Environment Committee Chairman Chow Kon Yeow that the land title was found in the office of the State Land and Mines Department. Chow immediately went there and found it was there and in fact the ownership records still show that the land is still fully held by the Penang Municipal Council and not being transferred to anyone yet. Mr. Chow breathed a sigh of relief.

Immediately Mr. Chow issued a statement of clarification so as to help Gerakan Koh Tsu Koon clear his name and also the clear the name of the man named Khairy.

Mr. Chow said that since the land had been leased by the state, the documents were in the care of the Land and Mines Department rather than the district office.

Everyone is much relieved and the State can have that piece of land back. Thank God and many thanks to the kind civil servant for ensuring that the document is put back in a safe and rightful place. Thanks also to the person who provide the timely information of the right location of the document. Many many thanks. God bless all of you.

Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin said most Malaysians were unaware that the term was not used in Indonesia and that Indonesians were offended by its usage here.

Speaking at the Malaysian-Indonesian (Malindo) Dialogue 2008, he urged "Malay-sians" to be more sensitive to the feelings of Indonesians.

"The Malaysian media should lead the way by doing away with the term, to avoid causing ill feelings."

Khairy said words and terms which caused anger or hurt a person's feelings should be avoided as they could be used by irresponsible parties to fan discontentment.

Indonesian delegate Hamkam Noor said the term "Indonesian" denoted the identity of the country's people and the truncated word was belittling to them.

Rafidah Aziz said Malay privileges 'will still be championed'

The championing of Malay privileges should not end because the economic environment is always changing, Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz said.

Speaking to a gathering of Gagasan Badan Ekonomi Melayu (Gabem) members, she said the issue of Malay rights had to continue as Malaysia's economy grew and adapted to changes and external forces.

"Some people ask why the Malays are forever asking for their economic rights. This is because the economic structure changes over time.

"In the 1970s, Malays debated among themselves on how to get contracts to build schools or mosques. There was nothing else because the economy was that way. It was dependent on government contracts.

"Now, we have a new generation of Malays who are not debating about winning government contracts, but about how to enter new fields, like information technology.

"They are also looking at winning contracts abroad, taking their business overseas.

"It is a different economic context. So, that is why the debate should continue," Rafidah said.

So, what is Rafidah saying? Is she telling us that the Malays are not only looking for privileges in domestic projects but that the privilege is extended to international projects? But how? Does she mean that the government will be providing the projects abroad or that the government will be seeking the other countries to grant special privileges and rights to the Malays? Would the international companies abroad be willing to succumb to the pressures exerted by the Malaysian government? Would European countries and Americans grant 30% privileges to our Malays to participate in their economy? Is this a demand? Or, is this a request to the international entities?

Indians & Hindraf Conundrum

UMNO Youth chief Hishamuddin who is also the Education Minister call on everyone: "Don't Blame the Indians community for the illegal gathering organised by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) last Sunday. He said Hindraf did not represent many Indians.

“Our enemies are not the Indians, so everyone must remain rational,” Hisham said. The majority of Indians love the country and want stability, he added. He urged Hindraf not to play with fire.

“Who in their right mind would accuse us of demolishing a temple every three weeks or say there is ethnic cleansing.”

NST report: Malays have been advised not to get emotional over the accusations made by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf).

Hisham added that whatever grievances the Indian community had, they were not the only ones sounding out a "cry of desperation".

"We hear this cry from all races too. Our policies address all races and such issues have been and will continue to be addressed. But we can't satisfy everyone overnight."

Meanwhile, MIC President and Works Minister Samy Vellu said Prime Minister Pak Lah is sympathetic and open to proposals forwarded to him by the MIC leadership concerning socio-economic ills affecting the Indian community.

Samy Vellu said PM had directed his deputy, Najib Razak, to study the proposals and work with the MIC leadership to conduct periodic reviews to address the plight of the Indian community.

"The periodic review is to ensure that the proposals agreed to are carried out effectively,"Sam said. Samy added that the proposals included budget allocations under the Ninth Malaysia Plan to ensure that the Indian community would not be marginalised when the country achieved its "Vision 2020" aspirations.

At the same time, Samy said the MIC will set up a hotline as soon as possible to handle all problems faced by the Indian community. Samy also said PM had also asked MIC to set up a special committee to analyse and address socio-economic problems faced by the Indian community.

Anyway, whatever Samy said Pak Lah said, the PM had yet to confirm it. I'm not sure he remembers what he said as we only hear Samy said. It's like Lingham talking on the phone to someone whom we guess is Ahmad Fairuz, but it's a guess (though the later additional 8 seconds seems to indicate it at such; but there's no additional 8 seconds from PM to indicate it is what it is).

In a separate article, NST reported that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said any effort to bridge the gap between the West and the Islamic world must give priority to the resolution of the Palestinian problem.

"Ignoring the hard facts in the Palestine issue will be clearly denying the truth and bring with it the failure in finding a solution to the clash of civilisations facing us," he said in his message in conjunction with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People which was delivered by Deputy Foreign Minister Joseph Salang at the event organised by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations.

However, this is the social and political reality... there is no law that can protect them against harm, oppression, subordination and discrimination. Justice is illusory and elective.

The justice system is manhandled by those with political power and the prime minister and his de facto law minister decides what is justice based on their desire. The political masters can appoint and remove any faultless judge without fear or favour. Salleh Abas was declared by the former prime minister as suffering from insanity and insane delusion when Mahathir removed him. The judicial tribunal could not find any evidence to fault him but was also incapacitated to restore his dignity and integrity too. The other Federal Court judges also suffered the same fate during the constitutional crisis back then.

MCA and Gerakan are Chinese parties who prided themselves as the protector of the Chinese and Malaysians. But Wee Meng Chee's case proved that MCA can do nothing and have no ability to defend a boy who is only 24 and had not killed anyone nor hurt anybody. He just sang a rap song and if the lyrics hurt the Malays, he had apologised.

Khairy had also hurt the Chinese but he wouldn't apologize.

Khairy had then said:

"It has never crossed my mind to apologize to those who are hurt by what I said ... For me, if we truly fight for our race, one should not apologize."



Raja Petra, the social reality is not about balls. It's about the presence of a justice system which could protect the people, the citizen. But if the justice system is exercised by the political masters who have the power and authority to arbitrarily exert their whims and fancies and exercise wide discretionary authority which taint justice with injustice, then, the citizens are at the full mercy of the bigots.

We can cry injustice and discrimination, but our voices will be drowned by the UMNO general assembly. We can cry pain and grievous hurts, but no one will come to our aid and give us shelter and protection. We have MCA and Gerakan and MIC who betrayed the trusts of the people who voted them into power. These leaders shared the common values as UMNO, that is, to plunder as much as possible and then migrate elsewhere with all their family members.

Did we have a choice? Ya, we do! But the choice is to vote PAS who protects the people and abide by the teaching in the Quran. However, PAS has stated unequivocally that they would make the nation an Islamic State. It is not that we fear Islam but we feared those who had the power to put us under subordination by using and abusing Islam through their own set of interpretations. We had observed much of those muftis who interpreted Islam based on their own perceptions and ideology. They emphasized much on clothings, purdah, and entertainment issues as the key issues of Islamic behaviors. But they talk little and have little to proof that they are more serious with issues such as corruption, discrimination, poverty, rising crimes such as murder, rape or parliamentary robbery and human equality. These issues are as if they do not form part of Islamic teaching.

Are Chinese pengecut? Ya. We better be because the govt are giving citizenships to Indonesians and Filipinos in order to increase UMNO's majority to 75% so that they can make law or amend the constitution without the need of others.

The MCA could predict that they would be trashed and dumped in the coming general election.

They knew they had little hope. They had to show something, something that could rekindle any hope of getting elected.

The general public is fed up of their representation. They could do nothing to stop the rots in the government and the public services. They couldn't help Wee Meng Chee even after they had persuaded Wee to apologise. The Cabinet said the law could not forgive Wee. The law could forgive Zakaria Daros and the few executive councillors who knowingly acted in violation of the law made by them, the law-makers. The law could forgive Mohd Yusof Said in the Close-One-Eye affairs. The law could forgive the hundreds who disrupted the legally organized Forum on Article 11. The law forgive and forget about the corruptors who were named in Raja Petra's websites. The law can do nothing when Khairy brought along 500 members of UMNO Youth to threatened to burn down Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall. The law... oh, the law; it was made by men, by the same parliamentarian, by UMNO, for others, but not themselves. The law, would not be used to protect the weak and the minority. The law, will and had been used to punish bloggers who expose the corrupt and exploitations. The law... is about in-law!!!

Big News from Khairy for Unemployable Graduates

Prime Minister (sil) Khairy Jamaluddin called on graduates from Malaysian public universities to be prepared to work in fields unrelated to their professional qualification.

According to Khairy, graduates should not be fussy and choosy when picking their first and second job. Khairy felt that the unemployment problems of graduates is due largely to mismatch of qualification and skills required by employers.

Khairy is right. It is observed that 80% of the engineering graduates can't do engineering design works. I have personally interviewed many graduate civil and mechanical engineers and so far, none has shown confidence that they understand and are able to apply structural engineering design basics, even a simply-supported reinforced concrete beam. To add to the woes, they don't even have a copy of the design criteria and standards such as the BS code. I am not sure what the university lecturers had done for these graduates but I am certain they lack knowledge in engineering design and the application of the engineering design code. In fact many are working as site clerk (SC) and clerk-of-works (COW). We may also find many of these engineering graduates working as salesmen for multi-level marketing products and insurance clerks. The only fortunate thing is that a large portion of those graduates who got employed are absorbed into the civil service and GLCs. The government had help to reduce the number of unemployed and unemployable graduates. According to Khairy, UMNO Youth Education Bureau would be offering more than 8,000 jobs soon. That's good news but the only stale factor is, the news was the same as announced a year ago and I hope it won't be the same news in another years time.

Not UMNO's duty to explain

Khairy Jamaluddin said it is the responsibility of MCA or Gerakan to go and explain to the Chinese on outstanding issues that caused discord among the public, especially those involving the Chinese Community.

"We have to ensure that all races fully understand the concept of "give-and-take" and how the other communities shall help the Malays," Khairy said after opening the Beruas UMNO Youth divisional meeting.

Does anybody understand what Khairy was trying to tell us?

Is he saying, UMNO will not take any responsibility to explain though UMNO is the cause of the discord and it is up to MCA and Gerakan to go to their own community and try to explain it in such a way as to tell them that this is "Give-and-Take" - you give, they take???? It looks like UMNO, in the ideological aspect of Khairy, is all about "Take" and the component parties are held responsible to explain in their best of their ability to convince the others that UMNO Take because it helps the Malays. What about those Malays that did not have a chance to TAKE? Not all Malays are UMNO members? And not all UMNO members had a chance to take - many did not receive APs; many did not receive projects; many did not get positions in government or Putrajaya; many are still poor; and many are PAS members and KeAdiLan members... Who is going to explain to these Malays who had been sidelined and many of whom are struggling to survive? Can UMNO explain without using conspiracy theory and using the Blame-game?

Malay Traitor vs National Traitor

He called Anwar a "Traitor" to Malay cause.

He said Anwar is a puppet of the United States and the Jews.

Is Anwar a Jewish puppet or agent?

But Anwar said he is a "National Traitor".

So who then is the traitor of the nation and who then is the traitor of the Malays?

Which is which? Aren't both synonymous?
