Manik Urai Malay dilemma

Your choice - vote PAS or new bridge

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today gave voters in Manek Urai a rather stark choice - choose either PAS or a new bridge for the state constituency.

Muhyiddin told the 12,293 voters that should they back Barisan Nasional they would get a 300-metre bridge connecting Manek Urai Baru and Manek Urai Lama in Kuala Krai.

We can build it (the bridge), insya'Allah, but there is a condition. It is easy - all you need to do is to 'pangkah' (vote), but you must vote for BN. If not, there would not be any new bridge. If you want the bridge, vote BN,” Muhyiddin said.

The new bridge will replace the existing single-lane bridge, which was built in the 1990s (left).

Muhyiddin said the federal government would also consider building a new mosque in Kampung Temalir, a village which is located in the Manek Urai constituency.

Insya'Allah, we will have a new bridge!

Insya'Allah, we may have a new mosque in Kampung Temalir.

Insya'Allah, we may have a third bridge connecting to Singapore.

BN's sexy girls fish for votes

Reported by Malaysiakini.com

They came in droves for the dinner bash last night at Kampung Sepetang, Taiping, and the crowd of about 1,500 were definitely hooked.

The bait was simply irresistible. Nope. It was not the delectable spread of steam fish and herbal chicken but rather three scantily clad women.

It is a dinner organised by Barisan Nasional to lure votes for the upcoming Bukit Gantang parliamentary by-election, where Chinese support is crucial.

Donning BN-blue tank-tops, hot pants with 'fishnet' stockings and boots, the girls sizzled the inhabitants of the Kampung Baru Sepetang fishing village.

Among the top leaders enjoying the show was Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the newly-elected Umno vice-president and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in-charge of Islamic affairs.

Also present at the dinner was BN candidate for Bukit Gantang Ismail Saffian.

When questioned whether such performances would translate into votes for BN, Ahmad Zahid said that they were a "part of the Chinese culture".

Zahid said: "We also respect Chinese customs. In fact, we should respect the customs of all races."

"For example, only 20 percent of the voters in my constituency are Chinese. However, I still visit Chinese temples and attend Chinese funerals," he said.

"By using women to lure voters, she said, BN government is enabling and encouraging a sexist culture," Selangor Community Awareness Association (Empower)president Maria Chin Abdullah said in a statement today.

Full news at BN's sexy girls fish for votes and Don't use women as bait, BN told

**********

I agree this is very much a Chinese culture. I applaud Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for showing such great respect and admiration for our Chinese culture.

I think Gambling is also Chinese culture.

Playing with Fire crackers, particularly during the Chinese New year is surely part of Chinese culture.

Lion dance is also Chinese culture.

Prostituting and prostitute may be be considered a Chinese culture too, but asinine and saifulling is surely NOT Chinese culture.

The new Umno leaders seem to be very considerate to Chinese culture!!!

Yong: BN coffers is near bankrupt

BN has sent in thousands of campaigners, according to Yong Teck Lee. He added that knowing the extent and extravagance of BN’s campaigning - especially since he was Sabah’s BN chief minister before - the total bill will rise to tens of millions of ringgit.

Sabah BN alone has pledged hundreds of campaigners for Permatang Pauh.

Umno Sabah's various wings and BN component parties like PBS are keen to impress federal leaders, Yong said.

For many Umno divisional delegates, a trip to Permatang Pauh is a joy trip associated with the on-going party divisional election, he suggested. The cost of travel, accommodation, food and actual campaigning overall would be sizeable.

Yong queries where the money will come from. He feels it is less likely from the national BN coffers which is near bankrupt as indicated by their failure to settle the RM218 million owing for 2004's campaign material.

"It remains to be seen how the BN will settle the election debts of the March 2008 general election. And now the BN has to face their most-feared opponent in a by-election.

"We call on the Sabah government leaders not to allow Sabah to be the milking cow for the BN election debts of RM218 million and for the Permatang Pauh by-election."

Yong referred to the reported RM16 million intercepted by anti-money laundering authorities in a foreign country. The fund were apparently on its way to the Peninsula by-election from Sabah via a third country.

SAPP implored Sabah Umno and other BN leaders to consider their conscience in this matter.

"At a time when families in Sabah cannot afford an extra meal, people struggling with petrol prices, children foregoing tuition classes, sick people missing out on medical treatment, tenants worried about over due rentals and electricity bills, Sabah BN leaders must show that they care enough to do something about the peoples’ livelihood.

"By year end, families will face the prospects of higher school bus fares and various expenses related to schooling."

All these factored with rising inflation and higher joblessness have made SAPP wary about what the future holds for Sabah.

Recent Coincidence Cases

Case 1: Arif Shah donates RM1,000 to flood victim

Arif Shah gave out RM1,000 to Teh Soo Chair, 44, whose wife and daughter went missing after they fell into a flooded monsoon drain in Tanah Liat. The body of his daughter was recovered this afternoon while the search for his wife continues.

Asked whether this flouted election laws, Arif Shah argued that it has been a practice to give out such aid.

"The money is not from me, it’s from the NGO. It’s just a coincidence that I am the chair," he said.

Case 2: Tabling of DNA Bill 2008

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today urged all parties not to politicise the DNA Bill 2008 which was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday. The premier dismissed the assumption that the bill was connected to PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy charge.

If DNA became an issue in the case, it was a coincidence, he said.

Case 3: Saiful's swearing on the eve of Permatang Pauh nomination day

Saiful: "It's all a coincidence. We don't know that Anwar is going to contest and I wish to stress here that I need strength and God has given it to me now. It so happens that it is Friday today."

Source: Saiful: Sodomy wasn't consensual

What a coincidence that they all said the same line.

Of the three incidence that is coincidental, I would say Arif's act is virtuous and coincidentally the right thing to do.

Noraini alleged Puteri Umno were fondled.

Noraini Ahmad alleged that Puteri Umnos were fondled at Permatang Pauh.

Now, we may potentially have another swearing ceremony. This time I think they can get more than 4 witnesses.

But ... they look so happy about it, didn't they?

Read the NST Report below:

Puteri Umno has claimed that several men wearing Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) T-shirts and carrying the party’s flags fondled their buttocks as they gathered here during the nomination for the Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election today.

When the women turned on the men in anger, they spat at them, said Puteri Umno chief Datuk Noraini Ahmad.

She said they reported the matter to the police who deployed Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel to ease the situation.

Noraini also expressed disappointment over an incident which happened at about 10 am and almost sparked off a quarrel among supporters of both the Barisan Nasional (BN) and PKR.

Noraini: "PKR men were of Violent Behavior & Not Gentlemen"

“The by-election has just gotten off the ground and there is already such violent behaviour,” Noraini said, adding that the PKR men were no gentlemen at all.

I hope those Puteri Umnos buttock are still okay. Dr Mohamed is no more around to carry out the examinations. They may have to go to HKL. They must have sacrifice a lot for the others to fondle them. From the picture above, I observed that they seems pretty happy about the buttock thing. I don't think they will want to swear about it.

The Secret of Indelibel Ink: EC chief drops a bombshell

Election Commission chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman today dropped a bombshell by revealing that the cabinet had rejected the use of indelible ink in the March 8 general election on the day Parliament was dissolved.

“I have not told the country about this (before) but what happened was that cabinet rejected our proposed law (on indelible ink) on Feb 13 - the day dissolution of Parliament was done,” he revealed.

Last Tuesday, Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar told Parliament that the EC's decision to scrap the ink was based on 'hearsay evidence'.

Cabinet ordered me to take responsibility

Admitting that he had avoided this subject since the election results were announced, the chairperson appeared relaxed today and related how he was made responsible over the cabinet’s decision.

He disclosed that the cabinet was swayed by the police information that political parties had purchased indelible ink overseas.

“I was told that PAS in the east coast bought ink from Thailand. Then Umno came to know (about this) and Umno also bought the ink.

“This was given to me in black and white by the police and the same report went to the cabinet and they believed that this was happening,” he said.

According to Rashid - after being informed about the cabinet’s decision to cancel the use of the ink - he was ordered to be responsible for the controversial scrapping of the indelible ink.

“And I was called and told about it and I was told to take the whole responsibility for agreeing to the ink. I took the whole responsibility."

He quipped that as EC chief he had for many years been taking the "responsibility" for some of the controversial decisions made.

“It’s not easy to be EC chairman and I took the responsibility but that cost me dearly to me and to my house. They threw red paint on my house and my gate,” he lamented.

Source: Malaysiakini: EC chief: Cabinet rejected indelible ink

The cabinet was the schemer. Syed Hamid said it was the EC's decision; EC chief Rashid exposed the secret and said it was the cabinet's decision. Who was lying? Rashid said he was directed by the cabinet to accept responsibility and take the blame. The truth is revealed.

But why is it that Rashid didn't have the balls and integrity to uphold justice and fairness, the fundamental virtues as espouse in the Quran?. It was clear that he had allowed himself to become a tool for the politicians in the ruling regime. He was fiduciary required to be independent and fair.

There wasn't any proof of PAS buying the indelible ink and Umno was the one that did, due to their own malice and the fear of losing to PAS. PAS is an Islamic party of which the Quran was their guiding behavior; Umno is also a party controlled absolutely by Muslims who should also be guided by the Quran; why did they do this to PAS, their brethens?

Mahathir inscribe Pak Lah's Epitaph

Dr Mahatir issued a statement today calling for the resignation of Pak Lah.

Dr Mahatir condemned Pak Lah for having “destroyed” a once invincible ruling bloc.

“I think he should accept responsibility for this. He should accept 100 per cent responsibility”, said Dr Mahatir, “I am sorry but apparently I made the wrong choice.”

“The problem is we have become so arrogant. We suppress any opinion that we do not like and they begin to believe in their own reports which are not actually consistent with what is happening in the country,” Mahathir said.

Anwar Ibrahim has this to say about the Barisan Rakyat victory:

“This is a defining moment, unprecedented in our nation’s history. The people have voted decisively for a new era where the government must be truly inclusive and recognise that all Malaysians, regardless of race and colour, culture and religion, are a nation of one.”

Do we have Barisan Rakyat?

The people have expressed their decisions at the ballot box. They wanted change; they do not want a government who allowed corruption to thrive and with a judicial system which is managed by the politicians and businessmen.

How can the government allowed the judicial system to be influenced and directed by politicians and businessmen? How can promotion and appointment of judges be made at the influence of businessmen and politicians? All that we need to know is expressed at the Royal Commission of Inquiry. We found out that we do not have a justice system anymore. We need a radical change.

No where in democratic countries have you heard of massive corruptions at the highest level involving so many at the top of the system administration and to such magnitude of daylight robbery. The Deputy Internal Security Minister was investigated for corruption with linkage with the organized crime syndicate and cartels. The Inspector-general of Police was also investigated for corruption. The chief of Anti-Corruption Agency was also investigated for corruption. And all of them were declared clean when the system remains dirty. Most of the ministers were investigated for corruption - Samy, Rafidah, Nazri, Ling Liong Sik, and many others. We have close-one-eye case in Melaka; we have PKFZ RM4.6 billion bailouts; we have so many failed projects; we have toll Concession Agreements which is one-sided and all for the benefits of the concessionaires which translates and transfers the costs to the rakyat and burdening them.

The people were extremely concern with the rise in crimes. The police have yet to solve the Sharlinie's case. Nurin was kidnapped and raped. See Sheau Fang was murdered. Ooi Ying Ying, Ho Ping, Lo Ching Poon, Liew Mei Fong, and many others were murdered, raped and/or kidnapped. Lest we forget Altantunya, Khrisnasamy, Koo May Ling, Ang Chin peng and Wong Tan Yong, Ching Eng Wah, Tang Lai Meng, Sujata, Noritta, Ooi Choo Lee, Nora Jawi, Tengku Teh, May Goh Lee Fang, Patricia Wong, Julia Law Lee Mei, Mah Ann Ann, Darren Kang, Xu Jian Huang - all of them were murdered and the murderer are still at-large and in some cases, the accused were acquitted.

The people are unhappy with the pillages and pilferages by the little napoleon and executives and wasting of the taxpayers money.PKFZ, indelible ink, bailouts of failed companies, RM224.94 for a set of screwdrivers (that is worth RM40), RM5,741 for a 2-ton car jack (RM50 each at the shops) and RM10,700 for a set of technical books that is worth RM417 in the market.

The people hate kleptocracy. The people of the nation hate the suppression of liberty and oppression of the people. They used tear gas, water cannons laced with chemicals against the people who wanted to voice their concerns. They arrest the rakyat and put them under ISA - detention without trial.

Finally, the oligarchy challenged the people to voice their frustrations through the ballot boxes and not through street demonstrations or protests. Of course the rakyat knows their rights to vote the government through the election process; we don't have to be reminded. The challenge was somewhat contemptuous and scornful. The ministers thinks they can never lose in an election. For 50 years, they had ruled, they had never suffer defeat of more than 1/3. They think their divide-and-rule doctrines will work forever. They think they can pay $200 to the electorate and the people would succumbed to greed.

But this time the people didn't, for once, after 50 years. Many take the $200 but retain their conscious rights and duty as a citizen. The final outcome: BN lost 5 states - Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor and Kelantan (which was retained by PAS).

Never in the history of Malaya or Malaysia had so many states being lost by the ruling regime in a single election. It was far more painful for BN to lose Selangor which is a wealthy state. Gerakan never dream that they could ever lose Penang. Perak was most inconceivable for the opposition to capture. But the people expresses "Makkal Sakthi" - Peoples' Power - at the poll.

Now that the DAP-PAS-PKR had won based on the Barisan Rakyat concept, would they be keeping their promises and commitments made to the rakyat? Will they be able to deliver and perform better than the BN? Or, will the 3 political parties be engrossed with power and the gravy train? We are anxiously waiting to see what is going to happen now.

First and foremost, the Barisan Rakyat must put in place only those competent and honest people who will be mandated to manage the state portfolios. They must then set up a management system with a well-design control and monitoring system to ensure that their plans are implemented effectively all for the benefit of the rakyat irrespective of race, color or creed. They must pay a lot more attention to the poor and destitute.

Most important of all, the Barisan Rakyat must be conscious and aware of the customs and cultures of the people. The Malays still have phobias and paranoias; the ruling party must be conscious in managing them. The lower-class Malays must be given full attention and assistance. Of course the Indians must also be given attention in particular to the problems and issues which were voiced out by Hindraf. Then there is also the Chinese who are concerned with education and religious bigotry. And middle-class which is the key factors to the current wind of change must received attention to their career development and the high cost of living, in particular the city folks.

There are specific goals which the Barisan Rakyat must address:

(1) Ensure a clean and transparent govt by putting in an adequate control and monitoring system which will keep an eye on corruption and kleptorism. Involve the people to provide feedback on corruption and kleptorism. Listen to the peoples' voices of concern. Pay attention to their grief and plights.

(2) Maintain a fair and just government of the people, by the people, for the people. There must be clear goals and objectives of the plans for the state management team. Involve the people, the rakyat to provide feedbacks of system dysfunction or poor management.

(3) Practice meritocracy and work hard empirically by putting in place a performance baseline and performance management and tracking system.

(4) Make sure that all projects which uses taxpayers money are well spent, frugally spent, and benefit the public. Projects that do not have sufficient public benefits must be shelved or terminated.

(5) Work as a team and be courteous and cooperative amongst yourselves - PKR-DAP-PAS. Put your honesty, integrity and virtue as number one and the public interest as number two. There must be a monitoring and control system to track honesty, integrity and effective management.

(6) All members of the state cabinet must be men or women of knowledge and competent in skills and the uses of the tools and techniques of good management practices. each and every one of them must have the right attitude to serve the people and treat the people as their boss. In another word, they must be philosophers and at the same time are servants of the people.

The people have put PKR-PAS-DAP into power. They must now deliver. If they fail, in 5 years time, they will not be given a second chance - they will be completely wipe out and cremated at the next general election to ensure that they will never rise again.

Pak Lah is not resigning!

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi says he will seek an audience with the Yang di Pertuan Agong on Monday to form the next federal government following BN’s simple majority win in the 12th general elections.

Pak Lah said: "I don't know who is being pressured (to step down). I'm not resigning," he told reporters at a press conference at the BN operations centre at the Putra World Trade Centre.

To a reporter’s question on whether the BN coalition would be denied its two-thirds majority in Parliament, Abdullah said: “This is what the people want if they do not want us to have a two-thirds majority.”

The Sun does rise from the West

2008 General Election: The Voice of the People is finally heard!

Winds of Change have strike the nation hard.

At this moment, Kelantan, Kedah, Penang and Selangor have all fallen into the hands of the opposition. Perak is likely to fall too.

Never in the history of Malaysia had such magnitude of change occurred. The incumbent had been having good sleep all these years, believing that they can never lose and always will win hands down.

On March 8, 2008, they were dismayed. The people have spoken - the people are not happy with the government; the way it had been ruled and led; the way the ordinary people had been suppressed and made to suffer.

The people had even gone to the streets to demonstrate their frustration. Refusing to heed the plight, the ruling regime uses the police, the water cannons and tear gas to drown the protesters.

The ruling regime denied all the wrongs had existed. They claimed the demonstrations against the government on issues such as corruption, mismanagement, judicial incompetence and collaborations, discriminations and rising cost of living were never their own doing. It was either an Act of God or acts incited by the opposition parties. Instead, the ministers challenged the people to voice their frustrations using the ballot boxes.

On the 8th of March 2008, the peoples' voice was loud and clear: "If the govt. is not going to change and take actions on these key issues, the people would express their plights through the ballot boxes in accordance with the challenged posed by the minister in the prime minister department, Nazri Aziz.

So, Penang is gone; Selangor is gone; Kedah is gone; and Kelantan remains with the opposition. 4 states are now in the hands of the opposition who would form the next government. Perak is on the brink to become the 5th State for the opposition.

What had happened? Were the oligarchy blinded by their own follies?

The nation states are founded on erroneous ideas of justice and fairness, which lead to discontent and "revolution". The Indians were the smallest community in the nation. Though by itself the community can not act to effect any form of structural change, but the Hindraf essence was sufficient to give rise to this tsunamic occasion although it was never the true cause of sedition.

The system is now destroyed by the power and influence of the middle class which include the underprivileged class. Critical issues include illegality and fraud upon the people and failure to maintain good feelings between the rulers and the ruled.

The Prime Minister was surrounded by "Bodek Kakis" who were more willing to say good things and hide the truth. His ministers were corruptors. Then there was his 4th Floor boys whom the citizens knew were the king-makers and the biggest merchant of govt. projects. Other problems include destructive agencies and little napoleons, class-oppression, religious bigotry, exhausting of public revenues, corruption and nepotism, burdening the citizens through pillages and pilferages and the rising cost of livings caused by high tolls and regularly raising the fuel prices.

What will become of the nation and the states under the new rulers? We will have to wait and see whether they would be better managers and administrators.

I have Voted!

I have voted!

I had exercise my duty and my rights as a citizen.

Today is the day where the citizens of the nation decides who they want to represent them at the legislature.

In the system of democracy the people must accept that, whichever the political party that had secured the most number of seats in the legislative assembly would form the next state or federal government.

The choice of the people would be known soon.

We will wait for the results and we must accept it irrespective of our personal preference.

May God bless us!

Ipoh Ceramah

I came down to Ipoh. Since I will be free tonight I was told by my son that DAP will be holding a ceramah in Ipoh town opposite Methodist Girl School (MGS) and MCA is also holding a ceramah at Chin Woo Hall right opposite the DAP ceramah.

I haven't been to election rallies for years and I thought I would not give it a miss tonight as it is the last night of the election rally. I called Howsy to get him to meet up there. I called a few friends to find out whether they would be there. Howsy said he may be there around 9pm and my other friends said it's raining and may not attend.

And so I drove out at 7pm to the town as the ceramah starts at 8pm. Suddenly it rain and was very heavy. When I reach the place at MGS there was only 2 cars. My first thought was there won't be many people who will turn up to listen to the diatribes. I sat inside the car as it was still raining heavily. By 8pm the organizer starts announcement and I walk out of the car with my umbrella.

The crowd was around 50 people. Fortunately the rain stops at around 8.30pm and I can start taking pictures. By then the crowd had swelled to about 200-300.

The speakers stage was not a stage but a mini truck; I think it's a Toyota Hilux pickup truck. DAP could not get a hall and so had to conduct the ceramah in front of a shophouse. Opposite the shophouse is the roundabout where the people gathers.

By around 9.30pm the crowd had swarmed the whole roundabout and my guess is around 3,000 people. I move about to take some pictures of the crowd. The road is still passable to traffic.

By this time my friends had arrived. At the same time I met Howsy and we had a good time chatting.

The last time we met was at the 2007BUM which is almost a year since.

Lim Kit Siang and Fong Po Kuan arrived at around 10.30pm. The sentiments were overwhelming. When Kit Siang and Po Kuan arrived, the crowd went crazy. And by now the crowd had spill over and overflowed the road where the cars and lorries are still plying. It was almost impossible for the traffic to flow.

The crowd went crazy when Fong Po Kuan spoke. They love the cilli padi.

Fong thrilled the crowd with her usual oratory. But the 13 days of speaking must have taken its toll and her voice has gone hoarse. Fortunately, tonight will be the last session and the rally must end by 12 midnight.

By this time (11pm) the estimated population at the ceramah is around 15,000 people.

I can no more walk around to take pictures anymore as there's just no space to move. The road is filled up with people.

Fortunately the traffic police came to close the road to traffic so as to avoid untoward incidents.

The last speaker of the night is of course Lim Kit Siang.

Kit Siang must have stressed himself to his human limits.

His voice is almost gone but he tried to put up a good show.

The crowd loves him. They clapped at every instance.

Observing the sentiments of the people in Ipoh and speaking to many others, it is foregone conclusion that MCA will be trashed. I was told that the MCA ceramah at Chin Woo Hall has less than 200 people.

The DAP is certain to win in a number of seats. The victim will certainly be MCA.

MCA begs voters for mercy

Have mercy, MCA's plea to Kinta Valley folks

MCA secretary-general Ong Ka Chuan pleaded with Chinese voters to "show mercy" to the party.

MCA leaders on the other hand are not defending their leaders nor Abdullah and his policies. In fact, posters featuring MCA's top brass and Abdullah are very hard to come by in the streets of Ipoh unlike in the 2004 general election.

There also appears to be no obvious attempt by the MCA to fend off DAP's accusations of bad governance, corruption and economic mismanagement.

Instead, MCA blames DAP for Ipoh's apparent economic downturn and proposes the party's nine-point economic plan as a solution.

The nine-point plan was launched with much fanfare right after nomination day and was touted as MCA's economic saving grace.

A week later, Ong changed his tune and appealed for voters to "show mercy" and not allow MCA to "lose too badly".

"If you have five people in your household, I plead to you to give one vote to MCA. We need your support to serve the people and bring about development.

"In our last outing, we lost three Kinta Valley seats. I hope that this time it won't be so bad. We will fight for every vote until the last minute," he told reporters.

MCA is now dabbling on the race card, claiming that the community would suffer if MCA candidates are voted out in favour of DAP.
