The Sun does rise from the West

2008 General Election: The Voice of the People is finally heard!

Winds of Change have strike the nation hard.

At this moment, Kelantan, Kedah, Penang and Selangor have all fallen into the hands of the opposition. Perak is likely to fall too.

Never in the history of Malaysia had such magnitude of change occurred. The incumbent had been having good sleep all these years, believing that they can never lose and always will win hands down.

On March 8, 2008, they were dismayed. The people have spoken - the people are not happy with the government; the way it had been ruled and led; the way the ordinary people had been suppressed and made to suffer.

The people had even gone to the streets to demonstrate their frustration. Refusing to heed the plight, the ruling regime uses the police, the water cannons and tear gas to drown the protesters.

The ruling regime denied all the wrongs had existed. They claimed the demonstrations against the government on issues such as corruption, mismanagement, judicial incompetence and collaborations, discriminations and rising cost of living were never their own doing. It was either an Act of God or acts incited by the opposition parties. Instead, the ministers challenged the people to voice their frustrations using the ballot boxes.

On the 8th of March 2008, the peoples' voice was loud and clear: "If the govt. is not going to change and take actions on these key issues, the people would express their plights through the ballot boxes in accordance with the challenged posed by the minister in the prime minister department, Nazri Aziz.

So, Penang is gone; Selangor is gone; Kedah is gone; and Kelantan remains with the opposition. 4 states are now in the hands of the opposition who would form the next government. Perak is on the brink to become the 5th State for the opposition.

What had happened? Were the oligarchy blinded by their own follies?

The nation states are founded on erroneous ideas of justice and fairness, which lead to discontent and "revolution". The Indians were the smallest community in the nation. Though by itself the community can not act to effect any form of structural change, but the Hindraf essence was sufficient to give rise to this tsunamic occasion although it was never the true cause of sedition.

The system is now destroyed by the power and influence of the middle class which include the underprivileged class. Critical issues include illegality and fraud upon the people and failure to maintain good feelings between the rulers and the ruled.

The Prime Minister was surrounded by "Bodek Kakis" who were more willing to say good things and hide the truth. His ministers were corruptors. Then there was his 4th Floor boys whom the citizens knew were the king-makers and the biggest merchant of govt. projects. Other problems include destructive agencies and little napoleons, class-oppression, religious bigotry, exhausting of public revenues, corruption and nepotism, burdening the citizens through pillages and pilferages and the rising cost of livings caused by high tolls and regularly raising the fuel prices.

What will become of the nation and the states under the new rulers? We will have to wait and see whether they would be better managers and administrators.

And yes! it is a new beginning for us, Malaysian. I hope Barisan Rakyat with the power from Rakyat will rule those 5 states fairly and undo the damage that BN had created.

Cheers!

Moo_t,

It is now time for the Opposition parties to work and perform; if they fail, they will be wipe out in 5 years time.

Zach,

Ya, I was dreaming too.

Constant_Drama,

The Rakyat has expressed their displeasure and the BN is still in a state of shock.

Chicken Ball,

Thanks for the compliment; and I believe you can, too.

PSC,

This is everyone's hope and aspiration. PAS-DAP-PKR cannot fail the people; they had to keep their promise; otherwise they would be wipe out in 5 years time.

CruelAngel,

I totally agree with you. Finally, PAS-PKR-DAP had managed to work as a team. I think Raja Petra and Haris Ibrahim had contributed much in this matter.

Will the new, totally surprised winners succumb to the same greed once the treasury lock is accessible to them?

Hopeful,

Thanks!

Zewt,

Ya, most of us, if not all of us, are!

Gukita,

Without doubt they could if they willed; but I believed they would be wise enough not to do so.
