INEFFICIENCY & MISMANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS IN AID OF THE POOR

"Give out funds quicker," says Dr. Chua Soi Lek

Health Minister Dr. Chua Soi Lek wants subsidies and funds to be disbursed faster to kidney patients and NGOs running haemodialysis centre. According to Dr. Chua, it was unacceptable that the funds and subsidies took up to 8 months to be approved and disbursed by National Kidney Foundation. Dr. Chua wants the process to be relook into to find out why the process needs a middleman.

I'm not sure why Datuk Jimmy Chua Jui Meng, the former Health Minister failed to address the same issue throughout his tenure as Health Minister and we had to have a new Health Minister to have the foresight (or should I say, EYESIGHT) to see the problem which was "a pain in the ass" for the needy kidney patients.

In a similar case, it took Utusan Malaysia's Awang Selamat to highlight the plight of Nur Atiqah Najwa who suffered from a swollen heart and needed an operation that would cost $300,000, before we hear of actions coming from the Ministry of Health under Chua Jui Meng.

It just seem that we were having Ministers who are too busy serving everything except their portfolio.

Maybe, we are seeing some lights at the end of the tunnel under the leadership of Pak-Lah and hopefully, we are not passing through a twilight zone.

Cheerio; Soi lek-BOLEH!!!!!!
