UMNO - Money Politics
Shahrir Puts Paid to Money Politics Debate
Article from: The Sun Weekend; Comments, 10th Oct 2004
Abstract from the article by Datuk Shahrir Samad, the MP from Johor Bahru.
“By suggesting there is money politics in UMNO, you are implying the candidates have a lot of money. That means they either have rich parents or they are corrupt.”
“Since it is known the candidates do not have rich parents, all suggestions of money politics point to only one thing – that the candidates are corrupt.”
“But that cannot be true. They have been cleared and pronounced clean before they were fielded as candidates for the general election.”
“So any suggestion of money politics means that we are questioning the ACA and the leadership. So just take it that there is no money politics.”
Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzil says "Its Money Politics."
Datuk Seri Adnan, the MB of Pahang says - "Its money politics."
Datuk Shahrir says, "if Money Politics is true, then the candidates are corrupt."
So lets just take it that its not true for the sake of it.
