Effendi seeks Divorce

Effendi Divorced Posted by Hello

The Star Report:

FORMER Agriculture Minister and Ntv7 owner Datuk Seri Effendi Norwawi filed an application to divorce his wife Datin Seri Farida Effendi at the Syariah High Court in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

The Malay daily Utusan Malaysia reported that Effendi, 57, was escorted by a bodyguard and arrived at the court at 11am. His lawyer Muhamad Burok accompanied him. They were seen entering the chambers of Federal Territory Syariah chief judge Hussin Ahamad.

Also present was Malaysian Muslim Lawyers Association president Datin Paduka Zaiton Othman, who appeared as an independent observer. Farida, 54, was not present and not represented by a lawyer.

"The application was made at the Syariah High Court following a high claim for property,” the daily said. Effendi married Farida in the 1970s and they have three children – Efeida, Elyna and Ezra.

Wish you well and hope it is not too expensive to settle this problem, Datuk Seri Effendi; and to Datin Farida, "take care of your cake of fortune".
