Have We Forgotten Mahathir?

THANKFUL MAHATHIR Posted by Hello

In his 22-years as prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir had always been surrounded by thousands of scores of people, all wanting to see him, to seek his blessing, to wish him well, to ask for projects, to ask for ministerial positions, to seek political positions, to get APs, to get him to officiate events, to bodek, to cucuk belakang, etc, etc.

2-years since he left office, many of those he had helped have not been seeing him, or at least, send him good wishes. Some who had heap enormous praises on him had even begun to question his past leadership, his fight against corruption, and the issue of APs. These unfaithful ones include his previous ministers and journalists. When he was the Premier, these same people spoke of him so highly and praiseworthy. Today, they now are bodeking someone else.

In a speech at a dinner hosted by the Malaysian Indian-Muslim community, this is what Mahathir says:

“Some people have forgotten me, but some still remember me. And I am thankful to those who still remember me. I had been asked many times whether I had Indian ancestry. I don’t have to be ashamed of having to admit that I have Indian blood flowing in my veins but then again, NO Malay is pure. As to Our former Prime Ministers, one has Siamese blood, one has Bugis blood, another Turkish, and the fourth had Indian blood. I think the fifth also cannot claim to be completely pure."

Whatever you think of him, Mahathir has done so much for the nation. We just cannot forget his contributions to the nation as a whole. Please, don't just choose to remember your presumed bad things that he was supposed to have done; he has done mountains of good for the nation, and he was the one who appointed Pak lah to be Prime Minister.

This is a sign of frustration, good for Tun to speak out. The Bumi must know that even earth is made up of various elements.
