Brain-dead has baby girl
God is great and loving.
A brain-dead US woman who was kept alive for almost three months to give her foetus time to develop has given birth to a girl, two months premature.
The baby is being monitored at the neo-natal intensive care unit at a hospital in Arlington, Virginia.
The mother, Susan Torres, suffered a stroke on 7 May after an undiagnosed cancer spread to her brain. Doctors said she was brain dead but they offered to keep her alive for the sake of the baby. She was four months pregnant with her second child.
Her husband, Jason, agreed, leaving his job to be at his wife's side and running up huge medical bills over the next three months. Now she has given birth to a girl, Susan Anne Catherine Torres.
The baby was delivered by Caesarean section at a Virginia hospital on Tuesday and weighed 800g (1lb, 13oz).
The baby's uncle said there were no complications and she is doing well. The hospital would not give any information about the condition of Mrs Torres.
May God shower his love and comfort Jason and his new-born baby in their hours of waiting for the miraculous recovery of the mother. I pray that the Susan will receive a divine miracle and recover to see her lovely baby and a happy reunion with Jason their two children, and their parents. Amen.
