Letter to Celcom

He received sms messages he didn't asked for and was billed for it. Those messages were from advertisers for products promotions. Each month, those messages had cost him some MR6.00 of which the charges are illegal.

Maybe, many of you would have received such messages and had been billed for it. You may not have check your billings; and would had paid for it.

Read the mail letter addressed to Celcom and c.c to me.

Subject: Charges for receiving SMS!
To: careline@celcom.com.my
Cc: Maverick SM

Customer's Name: Lau K... Y..
Account Number: xxxx
Mobile Phone Number : 013-xxx xxxx

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would be most grateful if you can bar the following Gateway Numbers from sending SMS to my handphone:

1. 3252-000-300-50
2. 39444

I have no idea how these companies could get hold of my number as only CELCOM has the only access to my number and I have not given approval nor sign any documents with CELCOM (except for registering with CELCOM) that my number can be given to any other parties except for my own personal use.

As you are well aware, these companies are charging me for SMS which they sent to me and I have not, nor registered myself with any of their *game plans* which they have sent.

CELCOM should be aware that customers numbers should not be given to any parties unless in agreement by the customers themselves. The charges can accumulate to some RM6.00 per bill just for nothing.

I would appreciate if you can kindly look into these matter as I am not the only one being targeted by these companies.

Your expeditious action is appreciated.

Lau KY (Mr)

I hope Celcom would respond to this letter and if they didn't, the matter will be pursued to the top.

(Updates)

Thanks to mahagurusia , the pic below is taken from there and the message read the same:

"Enjoy our promotion! You may redeem free ringtone Chicken Little Theme Song now! Just sms <1133m> for mono and <1133p> for poly to 39444" from 39444

Same here. I've called and called, but then mine is with Maxis and the sender is Shabox. Have never registered with Shabox. But Maxis personnels told me that it could be me registering with the Samsung Fun Club. Even if so, I didn't say I will pay for crap smses that I don't need. And I was charged RM6 for about 4 months.. Even after I've called Maxis up, they still continued sending for a few more months. Which pissed me off majorly. If they were to send more of them to me I will definitely file an official complain.

Hello,i'm a loyal Celcom broadband user from UDA Johor Bahru and i have a few questions to ask.May i know why the Celcom broadband connection is very fast?I,m using a 3.6Mbps Celcom broadband but the CONNECTION IS LIKE I'm using a 3.6bps Celcom broadband and i have to pay RM100 monthly for this such a 3.6Mbps=3.6bps connection? And furtherore,i'm always getting trouble into log in to my yahoo mail, and my google adsense site.Is this the RM100 monthly connection type of Celcom broadband? And all this things happen even before my speed is being reduced because of exceeding usage of 5GB/month.Hope i will get a reasonable answer.Thank you.
