NO Profiling of Chinese Tourist

This is the assurance given by the Prime Minister of Malaysia: "Malaysia has given an assurance that there is no policy against Chinese visitors to the country."

“We encourage them (Chinese tourist, including the beautiful women) to come. We want them to come,” said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

He said there was no policy against Chinese tourists and businessmen and they were welcome to visit the country.

Abdullah said: “If there had been incidents involving some Chinese nationals, caused by a government official – whether by an immigration officer or a police officer – we apologise for that.”

“But these people and their actions certainly do not represent the entire service or the attitude of the Government towards Chinese visitors who come to Malaysia, for whatever purpose,” he stressed.

The assurance came following several incidents involving Chinese nationals and a recent video clip which showed a naked woman doing ear squats while in police custody.

Prime Minister, Abdullah calls for an immediate probe into the incident, with no cover-ups.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Musa Hasan assured that there will be no cover up in their investigation of the person who took the video clip and the culprit would be charged under the Penal Code with insulting the modesty of the person or intruding into the privacy of the woman.

He said it was only the perpetrator behind the clip and not the policewoman that the police was after, as the woman cop was only carrying out a routine check.

Well, it sounds that the police officer would not be investigated at all. The whole attention and focus is now shifted to the videoman.

Musa said a special team under his supervision had interviewed several people regarding the incident.

With the opening up of the pandora box, we will be hearing more of such related events and some are far insidious. Read another news below ...

The Star Reports: Chinese embassy seeks thorough probe of rape

In the wake of several incidents involving people from China, the Chinese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has expressed its concern over another reported case – a rape at a hotel in Klang, Selangor.

The Chinese embassy spokesman urged the police to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.

The embassy, with the help of the police, was also trying to locate the victim.

The 32-year-old businesswoman, who had valid documents, had alleged that four men who claimed to be police officers had molested and raped her at the hotel on Thursday night.

Klang CID chief Deputy Supt Yahaya Ramli confirmed that he had received a telephone call from the Chinese authorities over the case.

He added that initial investigation showed that three of the suspects were air force personnel.

China Press, which also reported the case, quoted army chief Jen Datuk Seri Nik Ismail Nik Mohamed as saying he was disappointed that the case involved his men.
