Orang Asli Pun Boleh

Chow Gek binti Chow Kiat becomes the first ever Malaysian Orang Asli (Indigenous people) to win the WIM Woman of the Year 2005 Award.

The award was in recognition of Chow Gek’s ability to overcome adversities from early childhood to become a successful contractor and businesswoman.

Chow Gek from Rompin, Pahang, owns Sri Gambir Enterprise that handles contracts worth up to RM1mil. She received the award from Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali at an event here on Thursday. The award, with a RM10,000 prize, was given to women who helped to make a difference in their own lives and triumphed to become exemplary citizens.

The other finalists were Pantai Hospital senior consultant Datuk Dr Nor Ashikin Ahmad Mokhtar, quantity survey consultant Rohayu Abu Bakar, teacher Koh Soo Choon and lawyer P. Jaya Komathy.

The story about award is cool, but story behind the scenes i don't think the writer really know. Truth are completely different from the story. Just give a clue.. maybe you will found something interesting. Good work!!
