PAS Hindering UMNO Agenda

Khairy Jamaluddin urged Kelantanese in Pengkalan Pasir to vote for Barisan Nasional on the ground that it would be difficult for UMNO and the Federal Government to implement and ensure a complete success for what he termed the "UMNO Malay Agenda" if Kelantan is lagged behind. The UMNO Agenda to ensure a large stake in the national economy for Malays cannot be achieved if Kelantan continued to be under PAS rule.

"The Federal Government can plan and allocate funds, but it is the State Government which implements the plan. If the state is ruled by the opposition, it would be difficult to ensure that development keeps up with the schedule," said Khairy.

"What did PAS do for kelantan over the last 15 years?" Khairy asked.

Since Tok Guru's tenure, the State of Kelantan had not had the privilege to enjoy the development funds from the Federal Government except for some piece meal projects isolately awarded to some cronies. But one thing is for certain; the ACA has been having easy time in Kelantan due to the facts that there is negligeable cases or reports of kleptorism within the ruling system. That is what Tok Guru had achieved - a near perfect clean state government; tho' may not be absolute.

Looking back into the history of Kelantan, it must be noted that Barisan Nasional had also ruled the state for decades. The hypothesis forwarded by Khairy in that "UMNO and the Federal Government will not be able to implement successfully the "UMNO Malay Agenda" if Kelantan is lagged behind" should derive a negative co-relation. The very fact that UMNO had ruled Kelantan for more than two decades and yet Kelantan is still far-lagged behind do justify the notion that a negative corelation exist and runs contrary to the statement of contention by Khairy.

It should also be remembered that during the time when Barisan ruled and where Annuar Musa was then the Rural Development Minister, hundreds of millions of funds allocated for the rural hardcore poor were being abused and the case had being heard in the court. Now Annuar Musa is the Barisan Chief and what a coincidence...

At such, the UMNO Agenda to ensure a large stake in the national economy for Malays cannot be achieved if Kelantan continued to be under PAS rule, is utterly falacious and can only exist in the dream for the coterie. If decades of rule cannot produce the effective results of the Agenda, could Kelantanese dream that it would be achieve by someone who is less than 30, and who has personal wealth worth hundreds of millions today? Where does all these wealth come from? Did it drop from heaven? Probably, Annuar Musa and Khairy would be the main Agenda Lagenda.

If Khairy is totally committed to the interest of Kelantanese at-large, he should convinced the government and UMNO to allocate bigger and larger funds to the state government for the development and progress of Kelantan, irrespective of who rules the state, be it UMNO or PAS - both are Muslims political parties; they should not differentiate among themselves and cause a great divide among the Muslim Ummah. It is against the fundamental principle of Islam. How could a Muslim from UMNO make stained the character of a well-respected Tok Guru Nik Aziz. Even non-muslims have such high and adorable respect for the leadership of this Tok Guru who had lived a modest life of himself and his family members, and that he and his family members is the leading example of Muslims who only look for divine rewards, not worldly material rewards and riches. Compare him with the oligarchs - see the differences in behavior and characteristics of life-style ... judge for yourself!
