Indian Ministers hates Phone with Video-Camera





Hindi news channel Aak Tak telecast video footage showing MPs belonging to various political parties in both the Houses taking bribes.

The MPs shown on TV were BJP Lok Sabha members M K Anna Patil (Erandol-Maharashtra) Y G Mahajan (Jalgoan-Maharashtra), Pradip Gandhi (Rajnandgao-Chattisgarh) and Suresh Chandel (Hamirpur-Himachal Pradesh). Congress MP Ram Sevak Singh (Gwalior), RJD MP ManojKumar (Palamau-Jharkhand) and BSP MPs Narendra Kumar Kushwaha (Mirzapur-UP) and Lal Chandra (Robertsganj-UP), Raja Ram Pal (Balhour-UP) and BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Orissa Chatra Pal Singh Lodha also were shown accepting money.

Following the expose, the BJP on Monday announced immediate suspension of its MPs caught on camera.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also arrested the personal assistant of Minister of State for Finance Gingee N Ramachandran for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh for fixing the posting of an Indian Revenue Service officer. The arrest has put the Minister of State in a spot and his fate hangs in balance as the Prime Minister goes in for a cabinet reshuffle on Saturday.

R. Perumal Swamy — a political appointee who has been with the MDMK leader for four years beginning with his stint as a minister for textiles — was arrested for taking money from Anurag Vardhan, a 1994 batch IRS officer, at his Sarojini Nagar house. Vardhan, deputy director of taxation in Delhi till yesterday, wanted and got a posting in Mumbai. Vardhan too was arrested.
