My Team Vs Malaysian Team

EXECUTIVE producer Khairy Jamaluddin has apologised for MyTeam coach Serbegeth Singh's "unfortunate remarks that Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) had put its foot in its mouth by agreeing to the national team playing against MyTeam in May.

"MyTeam was never, never meant to be antagonistic towards any party. "We want the MyTeam players to be the best they can be. "This is a chance for amateur to shine and if we can find even one gem, then we would have succeeded. "I hope that there will not be any more misunderstandings regarding MyTeam and I apologise once again to FAM."

Why does FAM want to play a completely fabricated set up of an amateur team of foot-ballers? Why? Would a professional team risk his reputation to play with amateurs? What is there to proof if they win? And what is the stake of risk if they lose? Wouldn't the professionals be a laughing stock to all Malaysians?

I remember that FAM sent the national team to Taiwan and played a friendly match with a novice football team assembled from factory workers as the Taiwan team was not available. Our national team lost!

Why set up MyTeam? Is it to prove to Malaysians, in particular, Azman Mokhtar of Khazanah that Khairy being at 28, do have the magic to turn garbage into stars; turn amateurs who had never played a ball into international professional footballers within a short span?

It can be observed that if MyTeam would show a glimpse of a little success, it will propel Khairy to the political limelight justifying his contention that he is the best and he can make diamond out of coal.

In the words of Khairy:

"We want the MyTeam players to be the best they can be, whether they win, draw or lose heavily to the national team. This is a chance for amateur players to get a chance to shine and if we can find even one gem, then we would have succeeded."

Even if one gem, no matter how miniature the gem is, and no matter how much money is spent to fabricate the team of amateurs, even if it finds a "0.00001 carat gem", that should be considered a success; a profound definition from Lord Khairy.

That's how success should be defined!
