The price of petrol and petroleum products had risen sharply and substantially. However, the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister said the impact on flour milling is o.1% and at such Roti Canai price should only increase by 0.1% too. Is that the correct measurement on the cost impact?
Take a Mamak Restaurant as a case study and let's consider roti canai.
Flour cost increase by 0.1%. cooking gas price had increase by 15%. Transportation fares will be upped soon for at least 15%. Utility tariffs will be upped soon. Council fees, licences, assessment taxes, and contributions would upped. Indirect cost related to the operation and maintenance of the restaurant have increased.
So, is the cost impact for roti canai only 0.1%?
Is there no statistician and economic graduates in the ministry?
Why can't the ministry get the universities to do a study on the implications?
Stupidity begets stupidity.

This morning my curry laksa breakfast cost me extra 30 sen.
I'm not very clever like ministers ... can gomen tell me how many percent increase from original RM2.80 a bowl ah??
I guess this lame duck minister wants us to eat raw materials as food. Flour=roti canai, sugar+egg+flour=cake. You know, like the a scene from Mr. Bean, where he puts a table spoon of sugar, pours some hot water and dips a bag of tea leaves and that is his cuppa!
