Shirts that beat the heatwave

The ultimate way to beat the heatwave is a shirt designed with air-conditioning system built-in.

The shirt produces a layer of circulating air which enhances sweat evaporation and is invented by former Sony technician Hiroshi Ichigaya.

Two fans at the back pump fresh air around the wearer and out through the neck and sleeve ends. Moisture can also pass through the cloth. The 10cm diameter fans are powered by AA batteries, which last for several hours or bu plugging into a computer using a USB cable. The electrical parts can be removed for washing.

Ichigaya is now the president of Kuchofuku whose products range include the aircon shirt and blouse.
