He spent $3.5million for his marriage to a sweetie girl.
Ringgitmongers began to attack him via the media. A contractor allege that he owed him $45,000.
Dzulkifli Md Saad, alleges that the money is part of a RM50,000 deposit his company paid to Borneo Perkasa Sdn Bhd in 2003 for a construction project awarded to Roslan’s company.
Dzulkifli said only RM5,000 has been returned so far. At a Press conference at his lawyer Betty Chew’s office here yesterday, Dzulkifli showed copies of correspondence between his company and Roslan’s. Dzulkifli said he issued a cheque for RM50,000 to Roslan, the chief executive of Borneo Perkasa, on May 8, 2003.
Roslan Hashim, popularly known as Datuk R, said the matter should be referred to his lawyer. "If they have documentary proof and my accountants confirm it, I will pay up immediately," he said. Roslan hit the headlines for spending RM3.5 million on his wedding to Puteri Shahanaz Hazlin Hamdan, 24.
Datuk Roslan Hashim has asked his lawyer to study the possibility of taking legal action against those smearing his name.
"I expected that some people would not be happy but I never thought that they would dig into my past and create lies about me," he said.
Several people had supplied the media with "secrets" about his business and previous marriage.
"I’ve been a businessman for more than 20 years and have 17 companies. I would be lying if I claimed that all of my companies are free from problems. "My lawyer is handling the court case involving one of my companies and I can’t make any comments as the case is still pending," he said.
On July 26, Roslan, who is the chief executive of Borneo Perkasa Sdn Bhd, was charged in the Sessions Court in Malacca for allegedly cheating a contractor and making false declarations of his financial status before two Commissioners of Oaths. He was granted bail of RM100,000 in one surety and the case is still pending.
$50,000 problem? He could have spent $3.45mil and settle off Zulkifli!

That's very normal happen in construction business. I got few contractors also facing the same problem. They sub the contract from Main contractor and never receive any payment although the main contractor already earn millions of bucks!
