Cattle and Camel Dilemma

The Camels were angry:

"How can they say we are so thin and lean?

How can they compare us with the cows.

They don't walk the desert, and were given more food than us?"

The cows were not happy too: "We plough the land, pull the bullock-carts, served our masters well; yet we are also sent to the gallows, like Saddam. So what, we work hard, eat only cow grass, and we grow strong and healthy we exercise well and the grass we eat were nutritious. Yet we face the same fate as Saddam, for crimes we did not commit. Our only crime is, to have served our masters well."

Mosque rep’s remark on camel meat causes a stir

TAIPING: Taiping district mosque, Mohd Ariffin Abdul Talib, commented in his acceptance speech for the five camels received:

“How are we going to distribute the meat from these camels as they are quite lean compared to cattle?” he asked the gathering. “If the meat of the slaughtered camels is to be divided among the police stations in the district, each will likely get about 2kg, but how can this be divided among the policemen's families?”.

“Moreover, at least 10 men must be engaged to slaughter each camel and from our past experience, each camel could only supply about 70kg of meat which is not enough to be divided among the recipients. It would be ideal if two police stations shared an animal and a mosque got an animal each."

“Maybe we could make a broth using the camels’ meat so that more people can sample it.”

Datuk Mohd Akram Mohd Tahir, a representative of another mosque, said:

"I preferred cattle over camels unless the latter originated from West Asia as they had more meat than those from Australia."

AIDILADHA is the celebration of piety,.

"Ibrahim was indeed a model devoutly obedient to Allah and true in faith" — Quran (16:120).

God does not want the flesh and blood of animals, much less of human beings.

"It is not their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah; it is your piety that reaches Him!" — Quran (22:37).
