Construction Safety Case: Pavilion KL Project

Liew Wei Lun, son of Liew Wan Chew (died on the spot), said: "My father had complained many times of the defects and there were several near misses."

The gondola was carrying workers and marble tiles which probably was overloaded, beyond it’s design capacity and the safety features either did not work or was also beyond it’s capacity to restrain.

Gondolas were never meant to carry building materials except for some light materials and tools.

How is it that the cable quality had not been regularly check?

Safety is so lax and workers are so insecure.

Maverick

This Pavillion project is close to the heart of the Mr. PM and of course, the YTL family - rest assured....

You see, the YTL family and PM are both cancer-related patients.... No issue for cases like this one.

Closed one-eye no problem one; closed hundreds eyes also can one...

No eye better ma... cannot see! No see, no complain ma... if workers dont die here, some other people die some where ma...

CIDB... apa nama... "saya tak tahu" and "saya belum dapat repot"...

Itu olang sudah mati, ada olang tak tahu... apa mau buat????

Sudah mati lor...

I can guarantee that 99% of construction sites are not comply safety regulations. I've been work in many construction sites before, I was closed to death twice!

So far, Intel is the most strict in safety I ever been. Every inches counted, but too strict will make everyone hard to work.

CIDB never really enforce the regulations, I always been to construction sites but never been asked to show my CIDB (green card) card before.

I would imagine an official response goes like this;

"
These are accidents. There were nothing can be done to prevent these from happening. Very rare occurrences, 100-years kinda of accident. All officers in-charge are still on holiday overseas. Meanwhile, the status stays at "Red Alert".

Nobody should be talking about these anymore. All information pertaining to these are classified and protected by OSA.

Sincerely,
your very boleh government

The term 'gondola' makes me think of a very popular attraction for VMY2007. ;)
