BAM & NSC? Pak Lah & Khairy? Who's Who

Badminton men's single coach, Li Mao had left.
Now, women's doubles coach Cheah Soon Kit will also be leaving.

Tan Kim Her was far luckier. He refused to come back to coach.

Why? What's happening to BAM?

Because their employer, is having a problem and their employer's employer is giving problem.

The coaches employer is BAM who had no power to renew contracts.

BAM is subjected to the power play of the National Sports Council who dictates and then pays the coaches' salary and who love to play waiting games - they love to test the patience of everyone under their payroll - till they get frustrated and fell to their feet to beg, to beg for their pay, beg to be employed, beg to be a beggar. Coercion, sanction and submission is the value system.

So, you know why Malaysian badminton and football is at it's "highest"? oh, not highest in performance of the sports, but highest in bureaucracy under the crazies.

Cut red-tape? Pak Lah, you keep talking as the tape keep extending longer and longer.

Maybe, you should cut...all color of tapes!!!

RM500 million available for building a sports training centre in England but no money for BAM's coaches? Public donations are being sought for Penang's Suffolk House renovation while Old Uncle Noddy's alma mater received RM25 million from the govt. It's not having no money; it's whether the person giving the money is in the right frame of mind.

procrastination for the sake of it? is there a hidden agenda?

you think bureaucracy at its highest point? i doubt so. beg its spring cleaning time. watch this space when the new coaches are appointed. then you know why.

good luck BAM. i can forsee you sliding downhill.

The culture of inability to implement filters down, evidently. And it appears that it is THE ACCEPTED CULTURE.

Very very sad. These group of "Public servants" used the Public monies as if it's their private monies (including our No.1 Public Servant).
Suka suka here spend some millions RM, there some millions RM. In the end, WE, the Malaysians got ourselves to be blamed because WE voted "Them" there or WE allowed "Them" to be there even though WE didn't voted "Them".
I admire our neighbours ( Thais & Philipino) for they got strength & determination to pull down their corrupted (elected) Public Servants.

Hearing this, I'm saddened by the state of things. I used to be so hooked up on badminton in my young days and I follow all badminton matches in and out of the country religiously. Now?

You know, this is what happens when people think they are god and you mortals are at their mercy. Sick.

Screw up practically everything. First, I found that soccer has gone down to such desperate level. Then, badminton...what is next?

Thank goodness we still have Nicol David to gloat about :)

That's why I say the squash and bowling bodies are the most professionally run. They bring in the results and get the country the kind of pride we need. And yet I read in the papers that Dr Nathan is being challenged by a politician for the top post in the national bowling association. There is nothing wrong about being challenged but the politician has a lousy trach record. Once a national body produces results, the politicians want to join the bandwagon to get the credit they never worked for. We'll see what happens.

It is not fame and credit that politician wanted in a sport body, it is the allocation for that particular sport esp those sports which are performing well.

Sad but I see no future in Malaysian sports!

Chicken Balls,

I agree with you. The politicians are taking positions to tap on opportunities such as allocations for the sports and power that connects to fame and fortune. They don't care about the sports.
