Khairy: $150,000 for an Appointment???

Cash for appointments claims ridiculous, says Khairy

Ridiculous, Khairy Jamaluddin said on allegations his machais had collected RM150,000 from those businessmen in order to secure an appointment to see him (Khairy).

The Prime Minister's son-in-law said he had never employed “runners” to represent him to fix appointments in exchange for money. “It's very easy to request for an appointment and in time you will get your appointment. There's no payment to be made for an appointment," Khairy said.

During the question-and-answer session, a participant, Mohammed Abdullah, who called himself a “failed businessman,” said he had been trying to meet the Umno Youth deputy chief for two years and one of his (Khairy's) runners had asked for RM150,000 to fix an appointment.

Khairy said he had no idea who the so-called runner was, adding that he had not received even a sen from the appointments. When met by reporters, Khairy disclosed that a lot of people claimed to have easy access to him and “all that stuff.”

One guy, he said, had even falsely represented himself as his (Khairy's) representative wanting to do business. “I threatened to take him to court."

Well, if the machais can't make these monies from such connection and influence, then he would have no machais.

We don't see people going around using other peoples' name such as Marina Mahathir or Lim Kit Siang, or Tony Pua. Only those names that could have croni-nepo-content could be of value.

UMNO, by tradition and shared values, had the ability to attract and convey this sort of opportunity and influence. It's common and it's part of our lifestyle in the Malaysian business world. It's undeniable and there's nothing wrong as the system had validated them to become the grundnorm.

While this allegation might hold water, however to be fair to KJ, someone might be using his name without his knowledge for their own benefit.

I think RM150K is too cheap for KJ and he is looking into bigger pictures, figures like RM150mil, I reckon.

If khairy has no idea about the matter, then, only be 2 possibilities left. Either he was 'pimped' without his knowledge or that man is a conman.

macam macam pun boleh

If the allegation was untrue, KJ should have gotten the man's details and check out the so-called runner. And to show his sincerity, he should offer an appointment to the man.
