Malaysia has to classify bloggers as professionals and non-professionals as a mechanism to prevent the misuse of blog sites, Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin said.
“This classification will also facilitate any action to be taken against those found to have violated the country’s laws,” he told a press conference at the Putra World Trade Centre here yesterday.
Zainuddin said this was important in enabling the people to determine whether they could trust a certain matter and whether the blog content was the truth or a rumour that could cause discomfort or undermine unity.

I think you should also look into the contents of what the parliamentarian spoke and determine whether we Malaysian Rakyat could trust them and whether these elected representatives had carried out their duties for what they were expected to have done, ie in the interest of the rakyat. It should also apply to Ministers.
Bloggers are nothing and it is never a question of trust. Readers merely visit blog sites to read and find out what the main media wouldn't write or report or whether the facts and been twisted to suit. The fact is, the general public do not trust the main media anymore and that is the reason they turn to blogs for further and better particulars; not otherwise.
