Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir coined the Vision 2020 in the 80s which was a 25years target to turn Malaysia into a developed nation by Year 2020 and of which was in line with World Trade Organization and International Labour Organization's vision.
Current Malaysian PM came up with a much far-sighted vision 2057 which is a 50years target to turn Malaysia into a high-achieving class of people. It includes "A Professional in Every Home", "Top-Notch Offering for Top-Notch People", Top-Notch Parliamentarian with Topless Brains", and ... (can't recall lah) ... top in everything lah.

what? i will only have 3 years to enjoy being top notch? adui! pak lah better make it vision 2047... so that i have 13 years before the world ends at 2060.
What? Rules the planet only? I thought the PM's "vision" includes the whole consternation with all its galaxies. Ahem, make way, America, in 2057 Malaysia will be the wealthiest place on earth (according to the vision of a certain Mat Jenin dude still on his second honermoon)
70-odd years ago, three demented idiots from Italy, Japan and Germany had similar visions about their countries being the greatest in the whole damn world. The result? Nearly 100 million dead and their countries ruined. The first two bums were hanged while the third shot himself after drinking poison.

Few years ago, I read an article about V2020 from economic perspective. It argued that V2020 is no longer achievable after the Asian Financial Crisis.
At least this 2057 is too far for smartass economists to evaluate. Good to keep all critics away. :D
