Rating Malaysian Uni the Malaysian Way

Good News, Malaysian!

The Higher Education Ministry will direct Lembaga Akreditasi Negera (LAN) to start the rating process for Malaysian Universities. The criteria used will be similar to those used by THES (Times Higher Education Supplement) BUT Adapted to suit our Malaysian political needs.

The rating would consider 3-Categories - research, comprehensive and niche.

Research means intensive. Those U that do research on subject matters never dealt with by world-class U will get higher score; example: leaking parliamentarians, top-spinning at outer-space, teh-tarik in zero-gravity, etc.

Comprehensive means offering many disciplines. Universities who offered many, many many types courses will get higher ranking.

Niche means specific area. Universities are encourage to offer courses that are innovative and unknown such as garbage management, toilet management, sex management, managing votes and elections, bloggers management and control system, etc.

Once again, we will prove to the world that we have far superior and ultra modern unoversities unparalleled and distinguished, or at least distinguishable.

Some 70% of public universities and institutes of higher learning graduates in the country are unemployed.

Please add a 4th category: Graduate Employability

Radical Scope,
In many cases, many graduates failed to get employed despite the fact they have a degree is as a result of poor interaction during a job interview. This is the first point of entry to getting a job and many failed at this juncture because many of them were ill-prepared for the occation. Have you attended any job interview lately?
I am actually running a business consulting firm and some time in early September we will be running a public workshop on teaching graduates in the proper conduct during an interview which will include role-plays. If you are interested, you may email me at

if there had been any interviews, that may justify your guess. but the thing is, i didn't get much interview. i'll check up your site and will email you if i'm interested. in fact, i'll have it published in my blog.

It's getting more and more ridiculous. Rather than improving the quality of local U, they busied themselves with nonsensical issues.

Look at the stupid dress code at UUM.
