Freedom is guaranteed by Constitution, not men

"The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It guarantees the rights of every Malaysian. The integrity of that document must be protected at all cost."

"Protecting the integrity of the Constitution was every Malaysian’s way of promoting national unity."

"Get a copy of the Federal Constitution and read it."

This is the call made by Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah to young Malaysians.

According to above text, we can construe clearly and factually that, it is not the political masters that grant and protect your rights and privileges. It is the constitution which was enacted by Parliamentarian chosen and elected by the commoners to be their representative who are mandated to serve the absolute interest of the citizens, not their personal interest, nor the interest of their political parties.

If these representatives failed to provide the services mandated and failed to perform the duty and responsibility mandated, the citizen can use their voting power to remove them.

This is the fundamental Rule of Law and Natural Justice.

I found myself in Parliament today, listening to the Article 11 coalition present their papers to the Parliament ad hoc committee on National Unity and sadly, let me just sum it up, except for one MP who was a lawyer before who actually know the content of the constitution, the content of the papers went over their heads.

Oh yes, they paid no heed to what Raja Nazrin is advocating. At least that was what I got from their I'M-SO-BORED-I-WANNA-GO-HAVE-TEA-BREAK look. Very frustrating :(

Btw,
Vive le Raja Nazrin :-)
At last, someone smart!
