After Johor Bahru, Now Penang is Unsafe

Blindfolded, raped, robbed

A 28-year-old, businesswoman was raped by two men, believed to be Indonesians, during a RM4,000 robbery at an apartment in Tanjung Bungah, Penang.

The woman was sleeping when the duo entered her bedroom at about 4.30am on Monday. They blindfolded and tied her up before raping her. They ransacked the apartment before fleeing with her handphone, cash and several bottles of liquor.

A check by The Star showed that the apartment block did not have a closed-circuit television system.

Penang is now unsafe? The rapists have migrated to Penang after the police had reinforced their personnels in Johor Bahru?

Why no CCTVs at the apartments? Where and when would the enforcement requiring highrise buildings to have CCTVs?

How could Indonesian boys gain access to the apartment without the security guards' approval?

Sad to know that the security and safety is deteriorating. Has it to take a murder or rape of our Minister's children to happen before actions would be taken by the authorities?

Billions are spent on anything and everything... Northern Corridor, Southern Corridor, Eastern Corridor, PKFZ, and a $25bil Penang Global City Centre. What's the point when basic security and safety is ignored and so many are victims?

The nation is busy creating issues - Malacca pig culling, Bloggers victimization and monkey calling, unnecessary issues regarding judicial appointments when simple meritocratic decisions would be justified, and unnecessary criticism of climate change promotion while we have basic domestic safety and security issues which are fundamental and APs still at large.

Please cry for us, Malaysia.

Get hold of all the indo 'boys' and 'girls' without valid immigration papers and kick them in the melaka straits to swim back to their country. That was the way mahatir (who is now dying for his deeds) dealt with viet illegals in the late 1970s

The BN government should not be forgiven over its laissez-faire policy and enforcement by allowing millions of Indonesians (legal and illegal) into the country, much less the victims of criminal deaths caused by these foreigners. Agencies are making millions abetting these entries amounting to some 3.2 million foreign workers now. if thzat is not a threat to national security, what is? Vote for the Opposition in protest.
