Mum stops wearing sleeveless tops to daughter's school
This woman, who declined to be named, had been wearing tank tops when she took her 8-year-old daughter to school daily.
Her child is studying in a primary school in Sungei Petani, Kedah, reported China Press.
This young mother, a beautician, recently received two warning SMSes from the principal, prohibiting her from wearing such 'sexy and revealing' clothes in the school.
The mother said: 'My usual attire is spaghetti-strap tops and the school never had any problems with it previously.
'But after the new principal took over, I was barred from wearing such clothes if I wanted to enter the school.'
She said he warned her to 'dress appropriately'.
'The principal also told my daughter to tell me not to wear clothes that are too sexy.
'I should be free to wear what I want. How can the school tell me what to wear? I do not think my clothes are revealing.'
But to prevent the principal from harassing her daughter, the mother said she would comply with the request.
She said: 'Now, when I send my daughter to school, I wear clothes with sleeves.'
The mother alleged that just last week, her daughter was slapped on the hand by her form teacher because she forgot her textbook.
'My daughter's hand was swollen and red, and she was crying,' she said.
When approached by China Press, the principal declined to comment and would only say that the matter had been settled.
Is this what Najib referred to as "Standing few inches taller?"
Is the nation suffering from womanmania or phobiamaniacism?
What is the code of conduct for mothers' dresses when they sent their children to school? Has religion or moral decayed to a state of impotence?
I don't know but I know that "few inches do stand".

The principal apparently got sexually aroused on seeing her bare shoulders and calves.
This sort of ruling already in force at my kids' primary school a few years ago.
Apparently, too many young (& not-so-young!) parents walk around the school in spag straps and shorts/mini-skirts complete with brightly coloured hair. Some teachers feel this will affect the morals of the young children.
We have too many moral guardians around who are so afraid our society will stray twds indecency but I wish some of them would just adopt higher morals in practise with issues like corruption and dereliction of duty and abuse of power rather than focus so much on appearances.
sexual depressive idiots do always relate anything & everything to sex...
and this sick animalistic behaviour is dangerous to society.
that guy probably also a smutbucket
I have been taught from young that when people sees evil in things, normally their hearts harbour one. The Chinese wise saying, " A thief sees everybody a thief."
Only a devil sees evil in everybody's hearts. So moral guardians in our midst, are no angels. Bluntly, majority are hypocrites. In Rome and Italy, there are so many thousands of priceless pieces of "classic oil-paintings (art exhibits) with human anatomy often naked or partially clothed. To those holier- than-thou guardians here, these must be pornographic and completely banned. You can argued the cultures are different from ours, conservative and all that crap. But these moral guradians should realized that we are created and accept as such. There is a limit to social norms and a boundary of decency but let's face facts that the motive is the principle of arguments whether one is decent or not. The principal argued that 'moral" is the question and setting a good example to children. Only children can be polluted by the principal's cause of actions. Something is not right here.
naked donkey
The principal was too sensitive about sex...just suddenly raise the issue of too sexy bout the clothing ...bla bla..no body want to talk bout it, but he so busy concern a women's wearing.
Try look around at the city and town, there were too many women...even man wearing like that la...
Come come principle, make a public talk in the middle of the city, and tell the society not to wear sexy ya...
I make a summary, no one is saying that women is wearing sexy, in fact, maybe the principle can't stand to watch women's skin explore to the sun, and then saying her too sexy.Emmm...maybe he has a good intention also...
This is outrageous. SInce when the school dictate what parents should wear?
This is really going too far. Isn't this a violation of human rights?
She complained about the principal and she complained about the teacher.
This is the kind of people who think that the world revolves around them.
I rest my case.
Whats all the fuss about how we should or should not wear our clothes? What has this country become?? In future, i think all must wear like ninja.
I'm just sick of ppl who keep harping bout other people's prerogative... just grow up!!!
Let her wear what she wants... even if u wear a sack to ur kid's skool there would be some moron whose all hyped up 2 make some nasty idiotic down right stupid comments!!!
wake up bozo's ....
However, to be frank, i'd usually make it a point to cover up or at least refrain from wearing ultra sexy stuff like tight shorts and all when i go to my kid's school.
It's a form of respect for the institution...and not due to some religious obligations. This is basically good common sense...knowing when is the right time and place to where what. Would you wear shorts and slinky spagetti tops to work (as in actual office and not some hair salon, ok?). Or to meet potential clients, in-laws, etc.
(BTW, I'm a born and bred city girl and not some ulu kampung ah-moi)
So, yeah, I think that particular parent deserved to be told off....perhaps no one else dared to sound her off and the head master had to do the dirty job. Not necessarily due to being sexually turned on...If it were me, I would have told her off, but perhaps in a more diplomatic manner.
The other day, at a mall, there was this 40+ auntie with lots of "flesh" who wore spagetti strap top and short shorts...I almost wanted to puke...so tasteless...
I too think that this particular parent deserved to be told off. Thumb up for the Principal for he is doing the right thing. For goodness sake, please show some respect.Do remember this is a school and not a beauty salon. Please use your common sense .Even the school staff have a dressing code. It is like when one wanted to visit a government department one must be decently dress if not the security guard too will tell you off.
I don't know what & how that Principal ticked off this parent.
My personal opinion is that we should wear proper clothing in proper occasion or places. Eg wear formally in official places like governemnt departments, schools (where students wear uniforms) etc. or in sacred places like churches & temples. But, by all means, you can wear tank tops or even bikinis at swimming pool area or beaches.
Hi all Commentators,
I would disagree with all the opinions. Only one point - see that clothing she did wear... was it sexy? Was it indecent? I doubted!
Dressing skimly to a school is definite a no-no. Had this directive barring the lady from such dressing come from a Chinese or an Indian headmaster, I guess we can take it as part of the school's dress code for parents. But since it was not mentioned whether it was a Malay or a non-Malay headmaster, we automatically assume it to be a Malay HM since all schools are now run by them and thus with it, comes the "religion" factor which is definite a big no-no to the non-Muslims.
j=che, mave -- reading your "Header" I thought you were writing about Zakaria's mansion -- indecent and incestious. I may report you to AweBlogs for "misleading" blogging!:( "SeramatHaliLaya"--Desi
PS: So I see Anak Merdeka APpeared hear! She's avoiding Desi at Men Kee!
Dear Maverick SM,
I wouldn't say what she wore was sexy or indecent (mainly becos she's quite out-of-shape, so irregardless of what she wears, I don't think she can be termed as "sexy") and in her case, it would be safer to categorise her dressing as tasteless and tacky.
Seriously, I think its high time people be taught to wear the right clothes that suit their figure and for whatever occasion. With all the cellulites and lumpy skin, she should know better than to wear something that highlights all the unsightly lumps.

"But the irony is that those who told the truth were being arrested and detained and being questioned for spreading lies. Truth becomes lies and lies becomes truth. Which is which?"
And here I will like to share one of my favourite quotes:
"What good is truth without power?" from the play 'Enemy of the People'
Those being detained who told the truth, are they the ones in power? Certainly not.
