Who wants this job?
Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abul Rashid Abdul Rahman has yet to decide whether to continue holding the post although Parliament has given the nod to extend the age limit.
“If I decide to stay on, I will be doing it for the country. Who wants this job? It is a tough job,” Rashid said.
Do it for the country? Please! If it is a job that nobody wants, then get out since you have reached retirement age and go and enjoy your retirement. You will be given a directorship either at Petronas or Khazanah, or maybe appointment as a Governor. Go, and don't stop the earth circulating...
So, we now hear that Lee Lam Thye had declined to be appointed to the Commission of Inquiry on Lingham's video.
On why social activist Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, who was one of the members in the earlier panel, was not in the commission, Nazri replied: “I do not know why he declined.

Was it the Haidar's chairmanship?
Did he smell something obnoxious at the Panel's inquiry?

plum job after your assignment to ensuer BN wins hands down again? cant blame you coz nobody is gonna compensate you for the losses if you dont perform the task as assigned to you by BN. Another Hamid in the making?

Of course it is a tough job. Do you know the kind of headache he is getting trying to delineate the constituency boundaries so that the opposition will have 1 rep to 100,000 people while the BN has 1 rep to 5,000 people. The next thing he needs to do is to plant more BN voters in opposition areas such as 60,000+ in Ipoh Barat. If that is not bad, he needs to be a master in black magic to raise the dead to vote. He also needs to dig into his grey matter on how to get underaged citizens to vote as well as those above 100 years of age. Basing on the above, these are skills not easily acquired by the ordinary folks. Now you know why his job is so tough. However, the easy part is to say YES to everything the govt (read UMNO) says.

yeah get the hell out if you really don't want the job!! you might get a datukship too.
i bet my bottom dollars he won't get out. just saying... then mayble let people manja him persuade him to stay. sandiwara cakap saja lah!
UMNO and its running-dog coalition wants him but not US, Rashid reminds me of an over-used harlot...retired but still can be used by desperado BN seeking self-gratification.
Billy,
You can now apply for the job because Rashid is going to retire!!!LOL
Beeranyone,
No poem ah?
Lucia,
Don't bet oh; Rashid is joining Space Agency; next trip to the moon.
Zorro,
Harlot? Overuse some more? hahahaha!
Maverick, even I were to be paid a six-figure salary to take over from Rashid, I would still decline as it is a 'tough' job to handle, at least not by mortals like me or you. However, what irks me most is that this Rashid guy has compromised his principles just to stay afloat and he is doing a good job at that.
A six-figures salary as a part-time job, why not!
with Letter of Appointment attaching EC Act!
Finished the job so PM can no more be boss
and can retire with no hard feeling at all!
Time to show to be a bat or rat!!
To miss no way even in the dark
or to damage while in the dark!
