2008 has more bad news!

This is a horrible news!

The sweetest newscaster, a former one, and now a businesswoman, Wan Zaleha Wan Radzi was assaulted and taken for a free ride by a terror gang of 3 before she was released several hours later at Puchong Perdana.

Wan Zaleha was leaving office and walking towards her car in Pusat Bandar Damansara at about 9pm where 3 men approached her and psuhed her into their car and drove away.

They demanded her car keys and purse of which she acceded. They then drove back and one of the kidnapper then get her car and drove off while the other two took her for a ride of ordeal before they finally released her at Puchong Perdana at 12 midnight.

Has Malaysia become such an unsafe place to live? Few days ago, Nuraina had a scare of her life too. At about 1am, she was at the Pizza Hut traffic lights at the entrance of TTDI. She noticed a motorcyclist was tailing her. Nuraina was lucky that night as she had the king-size Rocky Bru and Bernard waiting for her at Penang Nasi Kandar in Taman Tun Dr Ismail where she's supposed to meet them. What if, she's alone and the intruder attack her?

So ladies, our social fabric has become a danger to you. The economy is thriving but the crimes are also thriving. Everything is said to have got the better of everything. Even Chua Soi Lek, a Minister, had suffered. What else can't happen which had not yet happen?

The organized crime syndicate is hard at work. The VCD peddlers are jobless. Ordinary people are arrested; mothers had been threatened with prosecution in cases where their child had being murdered or killed, but those criminals are roaming freely in the town and city. But we are told that our enforcement agencies are doing better and far more efficient.

Are we left with only one avenue, that is, to pray, to pray to the Almighty for protection and safety? But even in religion we are so divided, as our ministers and muftis had preferred?

Send back (by force if neccessary) those jobless illegal indon immigrants and the crime rate will plummet as quickly as the value of the US dollar

Anon,

Why blame Indons when those criminals are Malaysians ourselves? Is that how you see crimes in Malaysia?

Crime rate which has skyrocketing through the roof is one of the indications that the economy is not doing well, nevermind about the trillions exports ,stock market capitalization, this corridors, that corridors, bolehnut.........

Those must be quite a nice `terror' gang... C'mon; having THE Wan Zalaha Radzi in a car for hours and leaving her unscathe near a Masjid???? Doesnt sound like a TERROR gang...

Hey Gukita, I think there is more to the story here than we know.

Good thing I am not the clubbing type so I dont stay out late but this is crazy man. Its so scary to even steps out of the house these days.

do we have to go for another signature drive to tell the sleeping PM that crime situation is intolerable now!
what is the IGP doing now? for goodness sake, if he cant perform, just retire him to pasture. or is he just needed to protect the present regime?

When the system breaks down, it's time for the citizens to form vigilante groups to take care of themselves.

i will subscribe to my primary school's motto: All for One, One for All.

Keep up the good work, Maverick. May God prosper thy and family's way all the days of your life.

Ya I think the dept responsible for national security is accused of dereliction of duty. Their advice- hire security guards you normal mortals, we are preoccupied with higher calls. Hey ewoon, were you from Batu Road primary school K Lumpur

THis is scary indeed. I did not know about the Wan Zaleha case.

Just wish all the ladies will be careful going out at night. In the past, cases like these are a rarity. Now? It's like an everyday affair. SIgh.

Why so worse in Security?
==========
Ministries involved a lot:

Internal Security Ministry,
Youth and Sports Ministry,
Education Ministry
Women, Family and Community Development Ministry
ACA
Police

Jobs involved a lot:
Police, Security, CCTV...

How many Police, Security and Neighborhood guards on job?
Are those offensers local or from abroad?

Too many Monks in one Temple is the cause?
Or, no Monk in the Temple the cause?
Or, if Monks know Monk's work?

Next hot job will come - Body Guard or Robocop!!
Or Bruce Lee or Shao Lin to come!!
Prosperity of Security Industries and not Security!

We are getting poorer day by day. The bandits that lead the country are taking our money away into their own pocket. Let people power rule as general election is just around the corner.

Constant_Drama,

Gukita's statement connotes another hypothesis of which we will not discuss here.

Gukita,

What had happened and the damage done is done and will do no good if the public gets to know.

eWoon,

You got to understand that no matter how vigilant we citizens tried, we need an efficacious police force who are empowered to act and arrest, whereas citizens have limited authority to act against crminals. We can't act as crimebusters.

Singh,

I have to agree with you, but sadly, the inefficiencies are just too glaring.

Maverick SM said...

Helen,

Be vigilant when you are in KL.

Sharing,

Body guards and robocops can do nothing; nor even security guards as as the guards are suspicious elements themselves.

i am an old boy of Batu Road School 2. Blue and red are our badge colors. The 'green and yellow' one somehow pales in comparison in academics and sports (at least during my time.)

Are you from school 2 or 1?
*This not a loaded question; just curious.*

Maverick ...

Sure, we can be crime-busters - make citizens' arrests. The police will be relegated to doing clerical work, providing lock-up cells and following up on maintenance. :-)

we pay our taxes and are loyal citizens of the country with no PRs in other continents. yet, we have to live in fear as the government cant even provide basic security for us to live in peace and safety.

just like her, i dont know how many has fallen as a victim daily. when will this sort of madness be contained?
