In the next couple of days, i.e. on the 8th of March, will be the day of reckoning, whereby the citizens have made their choice, of who they want to lead the nation for the next four years.But the sad truth is that, the choice made as to who we want to lead the nation, the individual whom we elect, will not be the ones that will lead the nation. Because of the democratic process of electing government is framed by the process of classifications as a group; thus we had political parties who had the biggest number of elected representatives, will then form the government of the day.
As such, political parties formed strategic alliances to gather to become a bigger groupings so as to enhance their strength in numbers, and thus gets a better chance to take control of the government of the day.
In Malaysia, the biggest groupings of strategic alliances of political parties is the Barisan Nasional which has more than 14 parties banded together and controlled by the single largest class. The group originated from the first strategic partnership between three political parties which were formed to represent the three class of people within the nation. Now, they had expanded and called themselves Barisan Nasional, a some sort of a league, which ensures their continued existence, to serve their own purpose of existence, and a form of self-protection, to ensure the goals and objectives of those in power are not affected by the general community.
At each general election, it was an opportunity for the people of the nation to express their wishes, and thus to elect whom they want to govern them. But many citizens are in a dilemma; many said they know whom they would not vote for, but just can't decide whom they will vote for. Some said they wouldn't vote because the electoral rolls are unclean and fixated with phantoms. Some even says, while it is certain that the current regime will win hands down, why trouble to take time off to get to the polling station and cast the votes; afterall it is futile.
Whatever it is, March 8 is the day of reckoning; it is the day which, for whatever reason, and whoever we had voted, will be the ultimate criteria of what is going to happen to us over the next four years. Thereafter, we can shout and cry foul; we can make noise and demonstrate; but to no avail, for this day you had decided your fate and destiny; and that day was the day of reckoning of what is to become of the nation and its people, and how much more taxes will have to be paid to plug the leaking coffers of the nation caused by pillages and pilferages of those whom you had elected who then transformed to become your legislators and made the executives of the democratic system of government with the power to spent the money of the nation, and to make the citizen pay for all their wrongs or mistakes or craves; pay for all their personal and personalized expenditures, and include paying for whatever their families and cadres desires.
Yes, we have to pay the price for our actions or inactions; for those who chose to vote-in the burglars or bigots or tormentors, and those who would do nothing to prevent these burglars, these bigots and the life tormentors from coming to power; together you do decide for yourself and for the rest of the people, including those of your kins and friends, including those who cannot participate in the election process due to their age or being indisposed, what type of people would be installed in the chambers of power to exercise the power to do good or do bad, to increase the taxes and burdened the citizens such as to benefit their own self, their families and their coterie; and plunder the nation into the age of darkness so that we will live in the tumultuous era of uncertainty, or should we say, an ear of certainty - the certainty of high prices of goods and food; an era of Barang Naik!

I forecast that after 8 March, things will be the same for the next 5 years. BN will again win 2/3 of majority. We will continue to shout and cry and remain helpless.
The internet has surely created awareness but the impact is minimal. Minimal because majority of the voters are in rural area. In the next few days, these rural voters will be convinced by the mainstream media, added with goodies announcement and some threat here and there.
The cyber literate voters are mainly in urban but that is not good enough. You and me are fully aware all the issues. But how are the voters in rural such as in Sabah & Sarawak and kampungs going to be convinced. Furthermore with the wealthy machinery, voters will be easily succumb by the immediate financial goodies. For as low as RM200 or sewing machines voters can be "bought" instantaly
We have to be in more concerted effort to disseminate the knowlege and information and distortion of news by tradional manner to these rural voters as well as those less educated.
The impact of the governement servant is great. At present, with the revision of salary and bonuese to the government servant, there are very comfortable and this significant influence their family back in kampung and rural areas. Rural folks will says this " My children in govt services, are doing well, this govt is great". We have 1,000,000 govt, think of the multiplier effect.
I admire the way PAS uses the internet in disemminate information to reach voters. I personally seen these PAS workers, with hard copy of internet printout, explaining to those commoner at warong, all the rubbish/bullshit by the govt or in mainstream media.
So long as voters do not have access to balance information, we are doomed. BN machinery is too strong. But there is hope, perhaps in the next 2 or 3 election , by then voters education should be elevated.
Noble words of encouragement, unfortunately the needs of the ordinary Malaysian vary from basic needs, ( abject poverty ) to more lofty ideals of freedom of speech, rights, level playing field etc etc.
the arrogant plunderers know this and manipulate it to their benefit.
with all other instruments of government under their control, the outcome is a forgone conclusion.
i only hope for a steady change of midset from the voting population - be it incremental change or a tsunami of change to make a difference.
a step forward would be to have a stronger opposition to set the government straight. how large the first step will be decided in the next few days!

How can a voter go for an alternative when there is none worth going for. When the current bunch of opposition members are a grouping of convenience, if they have mores eat, the country and the type of opposition will very much dependent upon who has the most seat in parliament. If it is pas, the country is subject to pas visions and idea, if dap,like wise and so on with pkr.
The problem being, these parties are not acceptable to the great majority of the rakyat.
So, what do you suggest I do? the rakyat do?
I believe in the system enabling to heal and improve itself overtime. I have no other alternative because what is presented as an alternative is not the way forward.

even if there is a system and only way to heal it or prevent them from screwing it. - deny anyone a 2/3 majority.
I mean the govt will be the same ie, ignoring the suffering of the plebian (eg raising of toll, electricity & petrol), bulldozing all glaring corporate deal or rape ala ECM Libra, PKZ, buy jets, yatch submarine.
People must be convinced not to be hoodwinked by all those mainstrean media on BN promises, macam chinese school, crime prevention. The government should be assessed by what they have done last 4 years, not kelentong macam jual ubat di tepi jalan during the election time.
People must be made aware what is the purpose of a YB. A YB should be a voice for the citizen in the Parliment to express their concern, need. Voters must not vote a candidate who is just a lapdog, meaning in the Parliament who will at all time, "Kami sokong sebulat suara tindakan kerajaan"
Look at BN component candidate, all of them have been leveraged and tutup mulut, even if they would have to sell their mothers or fathers.
