Oops! Mahadev also sponsored by Lingham?

Oops! Lingham gave an affivadit to support former chief justice Eusoff Chin's claim that Commissioner Datuk Mahadev Shankar Lingam brought in an eye expert from Mayo Clinic in the United States to treat him (source: NST: Mahadev refutes eye treatment claim

The affidavit also alleged that Lingam had sponsored to bring Dr Albert Edwards from the Mayo Clinic.

In his statement, Lingam also claimed that a prominent cardiologist, Datuk Dr Joseph Eravelly had arranged for Dr Edwards to treat Mahadev.

Dr Eravelly was also present when Lingam and Dr Edwards visited Mahadev at the Selayang Hospital on July 20 last year.

Mahadev said it was akin to adding insult to injury to suggest that Lingam paid RM4,368 for the treatment. "This is an outright fabrication and totally untrue."

Outright fabrication? So, Karasu was asked to fake insanity too; Eusoff and Lingham both declared that it was coincidence they fly on the same plane to New Zealand. So, everything were fabricated?

As we observed, we find that only Commissioner Tan Sri Haidar Mohd Noor is the only judge not implicated for receiving goodies and favors from Lingham; or did Lingham forget to include?

Lingam's secretary G. Jayanti told the Commission that she used to answer the calls from Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and chief justice Tun Mohamed Eusoff Chin used to contact Datuk V.K. Lingam in his office.

Tengku Adnan, could you deny this?

Mere coincidence again?

Just a question:
When one makes an affidavit and later proven to be false, what happened to the maker of the affidavit?
I used to understand that false making of affidavit is chargable up to 20 years of jail sentence. Am I correct?

Cakap Mesti Bikin,

Mahadev masde an outright denial and rejection of the statement. I think he has some integrity left.

PseudoLawyer,

There is a difference between a "Statutory Declaration" and an affidavit. An affidavit is a written submission of a party to the trial/Inquiry. It is like Jayanti who presented herself at the witness box. Basically, affidavit is just a statement of claim/allegation.

A Statutory Declaration is a sworn statement and if it is criminal in nature and imprisonment is the sanction.

the liar, adnan has been exposed. wonder whether such liars be cleared by ACA and included as a candidate for the coming election. if a bag carrier who breaks foreign laws can now hold such senior position in UMNO, there is no surprise if adnan is included.

the way i see Mahadev rebut is much much better than the ex-chief and lingam with his famous quote! imagine lingam points finger that you involve but you're actually not. and there's truth in mahadev statement, to bribe with rm4000+ for federal judge really an INSULT!

Most of them would have recieved something from Lingam although they did not solicit for it like expensive hampers send to their houses during festivals. They did not expect it to come back to haunt them because it was so remote. I don't understand why entertainment allowance is allowed when most of it is an indirect form of corruption be it in the private or public sector. Imagine having a lunch costing RM 2000 per head and it is OK but the poor PC who took RM 50 will have to spend 2years behind bar.
