Lim Kit Siang made a public apology in his blog and well reported in Malaysiakini. He emphasized that his earlier statement was not made out of disrespect to the Perak Sultan and Regent both whom he have always held in the highest regard and Kit Siang apologised for any offences caused. The statement was the basis of DAP's CEC position at the time.
There have been further discussions and developments on the matter in the hours after the statement. Kit Siang said he will be making announcements of the latest position will be made.
With this assurance and middle-path attitude, Malaysians can now feel much relieved. Kit Siang's statement caused a tremor and much disgust within the community which is still in celebration mode after the Barisan Rakyat had destroyed the 2/3 majority of BN and taken control over 5 states.
Let us all who had hope and dream of a truly multi-racial society and government persevere with our dreams. There's this little hiccup and uneasiness. It is truly not easy for PKR-DAP-PAS to work as a team as yet. They have different ideology and political philosophy. It was the greater aspiration of the rakyat that brought that three parties together. There was never a Barisan Rakyat and PAS and DAP never had electoral pact between them. But because of the overwhelming desires of the Malaysian citizens as expressed via the internet and blogging spheres, DAP and PAS leaders tried to seek a common stand and cooperation to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
Most of all, DAP and PAS never had dreamed that they could seized control of the 4 states other than Kelantan and Terengganu of which PAS has a better chance. Winning kedah, Perak and Selangor was "Mission Impossible" made possible by the Rakyat. Kit Siang and Guan Eng and his team could never dare do dream that this day will come, that they could take control of Penang. The most difficult to believed that BN will fall in Selangor and Perak to the BR coalition.
As such, it is only natural that, in such a short time where we expect them to become a unified integrative whole, to work together as one team, is another "Mission Impossible". But they are trying... there are problems to iron out. They need time which will not be given to them.
Which international company set up within 2 weeks can be expected to form a team which could cooperate immediately without any hitch? There is a need in such circumstances to first, developed a team which requires to journey through the 4-stage processes of Forming, Norming, Storming and Performing. This is the same processes that DAP-PAS-PKR would have to go through, eacxh step at a time until the players becomes a team. Unfortunately, time is the essence and coupled with the differences in political philosophy and ideology between PAS and DAP, there's bound to be mammoth hurdles.
But one thing is certain: if the rakyat keeps pushing these 3-parties coalition to perform and act as a unified whole in order to achieve our eventual dream of a integrated multi-racial society, a Malaysia of Malaysians, and to eliminate the race-based party politics of BN, PAS and DAP and PKR would have to respond to the people; otherwise they would faced the same fate as MCA, Gerakan and MIC.
There is hope; there is still hope. PAS and DAP are working them out now together with the assistance from PKR. The Rakyat's dream is still alive. The past few hours of politicking is part and parcel of political transformation. Change and reorganization is in place and complexities and conflicts are part of the process and adjustments are necessary.
Kit Siang is to be blamed for the initial tremor caused; it was empirical. PAS Hadi Awang must also take the blame as he had been behind the scene in the circumstances that had happened in Kedah after V-P Husam had graciously promised DAP that one Exco seat was to be given to DAP. Kit Siang and DAP was just reciprocating - it was tit for tat; but two wrongs don't make one right; Kit Siang should know that.
We hope that DAP and PAS and PKR understands that the whole nation of people, including BN leaders and members are watching them, and BN and the mainstream media are just waiting to add salt and fuel to any signs of bickering amongst them.
Live up to the rakyat expectations and aspirations, please Mr Kit Siang, Hadi Awang and Anwar Ibrahim. You will never be given a second chance anymore if you screw up the people who voted you in. The rakyat is the boss, remember; not your ego, nor your personal dogmas!

DAP has fallen into trap by the BN dirty tactics. And Lim Kit Siang responded too fast (or hasty) .
This will not the last and BN will continue to do whatever to crack the young coalition of PKR/DAP/PAS.
DAP must strengthen its PR/communication strategies. BN still control the mainstream media.
Watch out for more BN tactics in the coming days and months and be prudence.
Respect LKS's courage to apologize to the Regent of Perak.
The more you give, the more you gain!!!!
Work harder and work carefully.
PKR + DAP + PAS... MY DREAM TEAM.
WAITED FAR TOO LONG FOR THIS TO HAPPEN... GOT TO HAVE SOME FAITH IN THEM.
GOOD & BAD... WILL STILL RIGHT BEHIND THEM, ALL THE WAY, ALL THE TIME.
... beeranyone
yup, their domineering and rumour spreading mechanism started already. and it's damn easy to fall into!!!
thank god it finally resolved!!!
let's pray
Phew!
But BN's MSM machinery went into overdrive mode and painted a very ugly and gloating picture of a burst-up in Barisan Rakyat.
everybody seems to ignore BN existence in perak. they are the real majority there - 28 DUN seats. And do you really believe by putting PAS MB life will go on as usual with check and balance from DAP. This chap also is another kind with "orthodox" mentality. When PAS MB to implementing something, something islamic from PAS commitee central and kelantan influence, how sure are you that BN (maj UMNO+muslim) will oppose PAS. do you think BN will oppose everything from PAS, these days are different oledi - they will enjoy BR infighting and add fuel to it. and PAS can always threaten to pull out of coalition mantra to force DAP into submission. and pas too has nothing to loose if they pull out - BN will always welcome them and even retain nizar as MB.
putting PAS as exco is different coz they cannot govern the whole state affair, but that's total different for MB post. see how perak will turn another kedah and kelantan where the state once used to be twin of selangor. pas is so lucky, least performer and yet manage to gobble 3 states!
PKR + DAP + PAS = BARISAN RAKYAT ,,,,TAKBIR......REFORMASI.....MELAYU, CINA, INDIA DAN LAIN-LAIN....MARI BERSATU DIBAWAH BARISAN RAKYAT....BUKAN BARISAN NASIONAL.....DARI AKU MELAYU.
well well just as you guys attacked LKS so much (esp. in the earlier post), go and attack syed husin ali now!

This is my message to DAP (Lim Kit Siang) & other Barisan Rakyat parties:
The Rakyat can make you as strong as they want you to be But they can also take that away from you as shown in previous GEs.
You are here to serve the Rakyat.
Donot repeat your past mistakes (or the mistakes of UMNO)
Who is the facker who started all these? Kedah or Penang or something else?
PKR-DAP-PAS now is either in a win-win-win or a in lose-lose-lose partnership. Better wise up.
Doc, such "noises" are just beginning. Expect more to come.
IMHO, LKS just create an hidden poll and our voices just cast the vote. No, he cannot use online polling, because there is possibilities of sabotage by their own supporter or even MCA.
When we are enjoy the newly acquire democracy, many people still not get used to it, or inherit the old napoleon(animal farm) ruling mindset.
kau orang MESTI (melayu mudah lupa sangat) ingat, DAP dah berkali-kali tunjuk KURANG AJAR and it's not going to be the last..jangan TERMAKAN sanagt dengan mulut manis DAP ni...INGAT YA!
CMBSS,
Ya, we are comforted by LKS's apology. We now hope they will cooperate.
Beeranyone,
I agree with you. They need time to develop as a team. Goodwill and trust must exist.
CK Tan,
Ya, it should now work.
Bayi,
The Mainstream Media and UMNO-MCA are working very hard to cause tension and revolution.
Denzook,
Let's allow Nizar and the new team to work. We had to observe whether they could do better than BN.
Lucia,
Politics101 just take the news from Malaysiakini without referring to KeADILan site; it was not correct. Read Nathaniel Tan's blog for the explanation.
Yan,
I agree with your statement.
Hasilox,
BR is a loose coalition and now they had to work as a team; it's not easy. So let's be patient with them.
Moo_t,
You are right. We need to allow things and events to evolve. This is about a paradigm shift. In any change process there's bound to be chaos and conflicts. Thats where the leaders are found.
