Anwar wants to be PM by Sept 16

TheStar report:

Pakatan Rakyat is in a position to form the Federal Government and it will be done no later then Malaysia Day on Sept 16, according to Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“God willing we will be there. If not next month, the following month, if not June or July, on Merdeka (Aug 31) or Malaysia Day. I think we should not exceed beyond that,” Anwar told reporters on arrival in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on today.

He said he had his way of discussing with Barisan MPs who had given their commitment to team up with Pakatan.

“My talks could be done in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong although it might sound like a joke,” added Anwar, who thanked the Barisan MPs for their commitment to crossover.

On Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman’s claim that all state leaders were loyal to Barisan, Anwar said:

“ He (Musa) must know that he does not have all the members he claims to hold now. If he wants to know, I can meet him privately and tell him.”

However, Malaysiakini report says that Anwar Ibrahim confidently predicted he would be prime minister within three years.

"I don't think we have established a definite clear time-frame when I will take over (as prime minister) but it certainly wouldn't reach three years ... much earlier than that," the former deputy premier told AFP.

Anwar pledged more effective governance and to wipe out corruption and promote racial equality, addressing some of the public's major concerns.

"Our reform programme will certainly be more secure. We will push for a market economy, judicial independence and equality for all Malaysians," he said.

Political analysts thinks the turmoil in the Barisan Nasional would hasten an exodus of MPs and propel Anwar to power.

However, Anwar said: "(But) I am not in a rush."

Pak Lah has to act as fast as possible to win the peoples' support by way of instituting immediate and radical reforms such as the appointments of the members for the Judicial Appointment Commission (JAC) which must consist of men of integrity and honor, the restructuring of the ACA in the mold of ICAC of Hong Kong as proposed by Nazri Aziz which should not report to the Prime Minister but to the Parliament, the demolition of the 4th floor decemvirs/korekers, the setting up of IPCMC, and the unconditional apology to Tun Salleh Abas and the other 4 judges who were sacked in 1988.

Only with the peoples' overwhelming support can he be able to deter the crossover of the MPs from the Barisan fold. I don't know why he is so slow to respond and so indecisive at this crucial moment especially when he is facing tremendous pressure from within his own Umno members and leaders who had been calling for his immediate abdication of power. Unless he acts speedily and effectively, it may be come too late to save his position of power.

In Malaysiakini, he apparently said in 3 years.

According to some sources, our PM really is too nice to lot of people that he tried to help lot of people to the extent that he actually approved 3 or 4 parties on the same projects to be undertaken by EPU.

Sadly to say that but it is true, he is too soft, too good and too forgetfully and maybe he is really too old to be the PM anymore. Whatever he is trying to do now, it seems it is too late to rectify anything.

God bless the good thing to come....

Yes, he will definitely without any doubt be our PM come Sept 16... but don't know what year...??!

Dream on Mr AnWar....

Annuar has let loose a fox in the hen house. The BN leaders will run around like headless chickens. Thats why they needed to put in place the anti hopping law for the MPs. (We can see that will be rushed thru.)

Pak Lah has always been ineffective, reasons best known to himself. Najib contradicted him one day after his attempt to reconcile with the wronged judges. They know he is on his way out, now they are working out which camp will bring them good fortune.

Pak Lah has no friends in UMNO. Once the momentum to oust him has gathered strength, they will push him out. Leave when they are still smiling Pak Lah.

The Straits Times [Singapore] headlined that Anwar to be PM within [or in] 3 years!

UMNO forces are now working extremely hard to frustrate this from happening.

There are 3 groups in UMNO:

1] Mahathir's Tribe.
2] Najib's Tribe
3] Ku Li-Mahyuddin's Tribe

the rest of them will simply pick and choose whichever wins but with casualties and collateral damages along the way.

So, Anwar don't be too confident, the UMNO Malays canbe a desperate bunch and who knows some magical can happen.

Anuar , u are rellt a culprit
People want a good leader and not the leader chasing for title
U are only concern about ur individual achievement (CIA information .... u wanty to revenege Mahathir and other UMNO jokers)
Don't waste ur time thinking about when u will be the next PM , think about what u can contribute to rakyat at the moment since u have PKR candidate in the state and federal
U are a really not good leader buying BN people. Remember they (BN) win thier region based on BN flag and not PKR. If u are claim taht BN candidate willing to change their flag, then u only win based on monety politic and not people power. I challnage u if they (BN) want to become PKR ask them to resign and re-contest again then we see who is the real hero. If u win , then good if not f*** off.
U r ex UMNO , We have no confident on ur administration. U become PKR bcz u been sacked by ORG TUA otherwise u will definately will not form any oppostion caliming that care for rakyat. I didn't see u care about rakyat when u are in the BN (UMNO) cabinet. Now claiming care abot rakyat. Cukup lah jangan nak klentong.Bapa , Bini dan anak lagi nak apa ... tak cukup apa yang ada sekarang ... gila kuasa , kasi peluang pada yg lain. Anak u, tak layak jadi wakil rakyat tapi u slecet her why there i not other candidate in PKR ! Ketandusan pemimipin atau ketandusan kuasa. Fikir lah masak masak , jangan ikut kehendak hati u, fikirkan masa depan rakyat. Jangan ber..tau..buat --> biar bertaubat.

This article is very interesting and informative, but I do not think the reasons for the huge loss of support for the BN has anything to do with the 4th floor boys as it were. What has been reveal are matters that will not reach the hearing of the Rakyat; but what I believe caused the loss of support to the BN had been the riots inspired by the Hindraff protesters. This was an open demonstration that saw the riot police shooting off their water canons and the chaos. This demonstration wiped up anti establishment recentment. The Chinese had already regested their protest against the MCA and rightlly so. It was a combination of several factors and the main one of which was the opposition's UNITED FRONT TACTICS. This above all else had worked like magic. Malaysian politics will never be the same from now on. Everything from here on will depend on the progress of what Dato Seri Anwar is now putting together a coalition that will form the counter balance to appeal of the BN. From my perstective the BN is already a dead duck, because the MYTH IF AN INVINCIBLE UMNO HAS BEEN de-mystified.

Malaysian politics of the 21st century will be one that had taken 50 years of achieving nothing ! The politics of Malaysia will have to be more mature, departing from the nonsense of race based poitics to one that will need to be consensus among all the races, and for this reason UMNO HAS ALREADY BECOME IRRELEVANT ! UMNO is stuck in the rut of race politics and it will be a long time for it to extricate from.

The evidence for my assumption is that from an Indian voter base of a mere 8%, their protest had caused the crucial support for the BN to loose government in 5 states, so what WILL HAPPEN IF ALL THE CHINESE WITHDRAW SUPPORT FOR THE MCA ? This lesson will not be easily lost on the Chinese.

The Chinese people must now know that their support for any government is pivotal, and they must also bear that the MCA had NOT GIVEN OUR CHINESE PEOPLE'S INTERESTS ANY MEANINGFUL REPRESENTATION AND THAT IT IS RIGHT THAT WE CHINESE MUST DISMANTLE MCA AND GIVE OUR SUPPORT TO DAP ! Chinese people need not worry about kissing UMNO arses to get along. We can stand up in our own right. Dismantle MCA is the most urgent pre-condition to be self reliant !

Anwar is a bisexual sadist and he wants to become PM? Gay and lesbian must be looking forward to the day. Anwar "the bi sexual sadist"PM , Lim "the anti-Malay bastard" DPM 1, Ustaz Hj. Hadi " islamic militant and pig seller" DPM 2 and Karpla "depan main belakang main bengali" Home minister.

Mahatir's advice: umno needs to only offer RM100 million each to 8 PR MPs and you will see them jumping over to BN to get 2/3 majority. The RM800 million can be recouped in a week by merely raising the price of petrol by 20 sen a litre.

Anon 8.59 AM , don't be an idiot here, don't you know that if an MP resigns , he/she will not be eligible to contest parliamentary seat for five years.

Meaning :-
Resign and re-contest is not an option !!!

I wonder people like Nazri Aziz bites their tongue when putting forward proposals of restructuring the ACA in the mold of ICAC Hong Kong.

When he was the Laws Minister, such suggestions to him seems to have fallen on deaf ears - now, he is all EARS !!

I hereby confer him the title "Hyprocrite of the First Order".

The "opposition controlled" state government is trying their best to impress us but our federal government & ministers are pulling their legs!(including holding up the federal funds meant for the states)

I would rather prefer the PR take over the federal governemnt & have a more free hand to govern & make necessary reforms. Let PR try it out for a few years. Lets see whether PR could perform without obstacles from BN. Let PR & BN compete with each others.

As for Badawi, it's too late for him to make any reforms now. The UMNO warlords would not listern or obey to his wish for reforms. Even the DPM is singing a different tune with him publicly. He should have done it after 12th GE. Previously he is sleeping, now he is really out of control.

Joeyy132,

Ya, you are right. I did mention it above.

Jeffkhoo,

Maybe your source is right too.

Bayi,

It is; but it's also 5 months from now.

Jefus,

You may be observing the current state of affairs. But if he acts radically, Umno members are fickleminded.

CK,

As I said, UMNO leaders are fickleminded.

William,

Ya, I agree with you.

Kiri J,

You thesis may be worthy of observation.

Yapchongyee,

Your observation and hypothesis is good and is a positive corelation. However, you could have miss that 4th floor element.

JH,

Thanks for using a moniker.

Gan,

The title is still honarable.

Yan,

Your opinion may proof right but I still think if PM acts radically he is able to save himself.

don't you think this is another spinning by the MSM? the other week i red in the same paper, DSAI not in hurry to overtake the federal government, more to strenghten the people alliance at this moment. this MSM is poisoning u and me again and again.

i don't care who is the PM-to-be as long as he can carry out his duty successfully.

He is playing mind games with the feeble minds in BN and in particular Mahatir and his dirty gang, a bunch of un-Islamic racists and mamaks who want to be Malay than the REAL malays of this nation through outright demogoguery. Shit!

You must know that Anwar and AAB are in tandem, don't think AAB wil allow Najis to take his seat. He will see Anwar do that than allowing Najis, a Mahatir stooge take over. Mark my words.

Hasilox,

He is bigger than Goby or Koizumi; he takes risk - risking others.

Suealeen,

I agree with you that it doesn't matter who is PM as long as that man performs his duty and task well.

Wan,

You have a good opinion but I think Anwar is not AAB and they are not in tandem.

didn't Anwar said "he is not in a rush?"

so why many Mangkoks worry about about him; originally many Monkeys claimed Anwar is irrelevant, include the Hacks fella back 10 years ago.

our Parliament need a strong check and balance; Anwar and his team can do best on this matter...

the country economy is on the brink of kaput like Papua New Guinea, and yet we have certain quarters still promoting and supporting colluption and humble donors lifestyles.

Anwar has the right to dream to become PM of Malaysia. I don't see anything wrong with his speech. Whatever he says, lets give him the benefit of the doubt.

Sure, we have given UMNO guys for the past 50 years as PM. And, what do get! Racially divided in all aspects of our lives! Now, do we want another 5 years of discrimination by UMNO?

For goodness sake, I won't allow my children and my childrens' children future to be more appalling than the existing state of welfare in this country.

Whatever needed to change the existing mindset and discrimination by UMNO/BN -- I will agree to it all the way! Even, if it is Anwar as PM. Certainly, not Najib, Ku Li, KJ or Nazri Aziz!

Maverick SM said...

D_Dollah,

Anwar is not dreaming. It's a matter of time.
