BTW, it is rumoured that the ministry of defence is currently negotiating to buy more military hardwares, heli & planes from the Russians in order to get contributions to fund the 2nd space programme to the ISS and a possible mission to the Mars. The Russians have kind of agreed to sponsor one of our what-naut if the new military deal is sealed.

Submarine is like carburettors. It's a dinosaur and have no place in todays strategic warfare. The backbone thing is part of a culture.
Instead of spending over RM3 billion on two submarines, why not used the money to provide better salary for our army personnel. But guess i am being too idealistic with the current 'culture' of UMNO if you know what i mean
