Ibrahim showed up at a press conference at Parliament House today by about 20 disabled persons from the Malaysian Against the Discrimination of the Disabled grouping.
"I never offended you but if you interpret that it hurt you, then I beg for an apology," Ibrahim told the group.
Ibrahim then went on to say that he would not apologise to Karpal. "I won’t apologise! You cannot force me!" he shouted.
The group then yelled at him to apologise personally to Karpal. Ibrahim, however, remained obstinate telling the group that they could not.
After much yelling and shouting between both the parties, Ibrahim stormed off leaving a black cloud over the disabled group.
The group spokesperson said they would not accept the apology as they requested it on behalf of all the disabled irrespective of whether they were politicians or not.
They also submitted a memorandum demanding that Ibrahim Ali apologise immediately and unconditionally to all disabled Malaysians

for the God fearing, He will deal with him....
for the agnostics,....
he has an on going battle with his psyche
what good is demanding for an apology? the way i understood apology is,.... it is uttered when remorse engulfs the person and the person is inwardly ready to apologize. and utters the apology, otherwise, we wait....
another form of redress is,.....to display protest or dissatisfaction to his conduct,... the apology must come on his own,.... not some half cooked one leg on each boat apology about a crooked blade. ( for example )
no point hoping him to apologize. ibrahim ali?
jangan mali lain kali
Don't you think it's all rather uncivilised? :(
a member of parliament, sworn to serve the people, when he is in the parliament, he refuses to heed to the people's request. sigh...head getting too big. even if you dont apologise, you dont have to shout rite?
reminds me of the japanese 'apology' to china for their ww2 crimes. not only china suffered under the hands of japs, but the whole of southeast asia. how many died in malaysia, burma, indonesia and others? thousands and thousands.. but did they ever say sorry to us, malaysian? never!
He's so arrogant. He must know that God can take away everything he has in just a blink of an eye.
his ego and pride is so humongously BIIGG... so in no way will he ever want to apologise to karpal (whom he should consider as public enemy!).
apologising to the disabled groups, is no problem with him at all because they have not done anything to him but to apologise to karpal?? certainly no way for him! but then again he's stupid - if he didn't want to apologise to karpal but he apologised to the disabled people, it is consider as no apology at all. the disabaled group is smart not to accept his apology. the call for apology from the disabled group arise when he insulted karpal, so naturally rightly he should apologised to karpal and the disabled group.
Neanderthal thinking naturally says that apology makes one less jantan(macho) wat. He has to be all jantan and caveman, naturally.
Ibrahim Ali think it is a problem between him and Karpal. In fact, this spell trouble towards UMNO and Pak Lah.
In fact, when Karpal called Ibrahim Ali the uncivilised bigfoot, it is part humour and part provocative. Ibrahim should have take the chance to show himself, not a bigfoot.
It is obvious why the Pak Lah and his Information minister are rush on the decision to stop broadcasting. Some people and media spin the whole episode as "shouting" session and "show off".
But those who watch the video know the main stream media spinning doesn't hold water.
Yes, the problem is with Karpal and Ibrahim. Two arrogant MPs!
I cannot understand why everyone is getting into the fray.
Typical Malaysians, all kay poh! Tak kira Cina, Melayu or Keling!
F**king racist aren't I? I will be the first to admit it but I will not APOLOGIZE.
anon 11:18,
don't worry, you are not a f*&^king racist yet, so long as you don't generalize a race into supreme being and sub-humans, like what hilter did.
i figure you a bit kaypoh..too, just like the rest of us, except we don't call ourselves that. We are deemed 'concern citizen', and we are for the well being of the nation.
Jefus & CK,
I agree with you that an apology is not the criteria here. It is more to do with respect for others and as a MP he should set good examples for all Malaysians.
Anak Merdeka,
Yes; I totally agree; and the sad truth is they are our MPs, the law-makers who had no respect and humility.
Ycg,
That's the crux of the issue; it is about a person in high position who lacks good behavior and mental capacity to represents the rakyat.
Hopeful,
Ya, he is.
Lucia,
It isn't about his ego; it is about an MP elected by the people who lacks the intellectuality and humility.
Wits0,
An MP must be a good example for the rakyat.
Moo_t,
Ibrahim will be casted out of the system if he does not behave.
Anon 1:46,
Looks like we two anon talking cock. Problem is if you define racist as 'generalize a race into supreme being and sub-humans' then we all are.
Making sense of living and trying to manage our lives in this world require us to generalize and stereotype. Yes, the Chinese are crooks, the Indians can't the truth and the Malays are hopelessly corrupt; generally. You and I cannot change that because it is set by the general behavior of races.
But if all the shit hit the fan and the Chinese or Indian goes running to a Malay for help, whether he gives them shelter or the parang, will show if he is racist or not.
For now, let's all be Indians and talk cock till the cows come home or when Pak Lah resigns.. err whichever comes first?
i think race is not the main issue here. i think its mutual respect and the gratitude for life's blessings - all vital in the lifestyle of a civilised human beings. and i guess the protagonists in this story aren't.
Phillix,
I share your view; mutual respect and more so for an elected MP.
Mav
I should think RESPECT is learnt daily from young at home, school and the community.
There is simply no "more or less" -as if one becomes more civilised when one is an MP & less if one isn't. One either have upbringing or NOT!
This is for Ibrahm

btw - 1 fler writing under RaZ or most times known as anon reading yr blog has "complimented me" in Rockybru of being able to send greetings to the 4th fl boys.
Yeah. My crime is posting "how can 1 site or blog have such power as to be seditious when all of us hv a choice?"
The choices are
- stop reading or watching any contents offensive to us..burn it, flip the channel, exit the site.
Life is always choices in everything we do!
Ditto Ibrahim!
.
Gobloking,
I do agree with you pertaining to the values and inculcation of respect and honor.
However, what I am emphasizing is that, if you are an ordinary citizen, your behavior is in the lens of your friends or acquaintance. But if you are a public figure, a person who holds high position and especially an elected leader, a law-maker, then your conduct and behavior comes to the eyes of the public where expectations are not the same as ordinary folks. The conventions require that MPs and ADUNs must have individual responsibility and collective responsibility and to behave respectably.
