Kelantan Menteri Besar Tok Guru Datuk Nik Aziz said the root cause for the political decay in the country could be attributed to Umno."What is haram can become halal according to Umno," Nik Aziz said.
"They have governed on the premise of evicting Islam and Umno is like a party with no brakes.
"The only salvation for Umno is to go back to Islamic roots," Nik Aziz said.

I certainly cannot disagree with Tok Guru. If only Umno leaders and members follow strictly to the teachings as stated in the Quran and feared Allah, this nation will never be corrupt; the people will not suffer from poverty and discrimination; and all the Muslims and non-Muslims wouldn't need to fear of oppression, discrimination and poverty.

Politic is in the religion according to Islam as set in quran and hadith brought about by Mohammad saw as directed by Allah swt. I dont know bout other religion. If you were to separate religion and politic then you're defying Islam. Islam is total submission to Allah swt as when you recite the 2 kalimah syahadah in order to be qualified as muslim. Any act of defying is considered non-islamic.
Thats what happened to umno and their followers, they're non-islamic and facing the consequences as warned by Allah swt as a result of defying from the true teaching of Islam.
Poor umno members, they became loser in this world as well as in the hereafter.

I have to agree with you that Islam is the one and only religion that integrates religion with politics and it cannot be mutually exclusive of each other.
Islam is only the religion that teaches the Muslims how to govern a state and manage the people under a political institution based on the rules and doctrines of Syariah as enunciated by the Prophet Muhammad as directed by Allah swt.
I have a hope that Muslims would direct their knowledge within the realms of the teaching as espoused in the Quran. There is only one book of knowledge that is complete, and that is the Quran.

I think it does not concern about religious standard; a religious standard cannot be changed, affected or modified as Islam is a universal religion and not belonging to any state. It is the issue of leaders in an Islamic State who may have failed to follow the BOOK.
