But if you die poor it's your mistake.
But, But, But, you were made poor by a corrupt system?
Bill Gates didn't say anything about this!
Anwar Ibrahim said many Malaysians of all races and religions were "sick and tired of corruption, of the destruction of the judiciary."
I don't think so, En Anwar; Umno needs it badly under the tuan concept for without corruption and cronyism, many within the groupings may not survive.

Let us all give Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim a benefit of doubt.
He already spent 6 years in jail and probably a better person than the past DSAI.
Anyway, what best can we get from the existing Leadership.
I am supportive of DSAI anytime. Enough of Pak Lah and Corrupt bunch of Idiots.
What do you think Mav??? OKTing been keeping quiet over the recent Fuel Hike you know?
How come like that one...?
Oris,
I tend to agree with you; I think I would love to have Anwar as PM to know him better based on the same reason as you - that the 6 years in prison had changed him to be a better person.
Maverick
Bill gates's wisdom absolutely correct, correct, correct. Living in the capitalism of ketuanan made us less prosperous eventhough we are not in the poor country. I think who else eligble and capable candidate for PM other than DSAI? I did not see any present or semi retired leader from UMNO or any other politician fit to be.
Thanks
Mamadou,
Pak lah is the most eligible PM.
Umno don't have leaders; they have corruptors.
PART ONE
There are no saints in politics and especially in a democracy, but all the same Malaysia is no democracy; Malaysia is an oligarchy monopolized by a clutch of very silly, selfish and immoral elite. It is not true merely to point finger at UMNO as the bad eggs, because the “elite also include MIC & MCA. All these in the government, Chinese, Malays and Indians had at no time in their useless lives, ever had a serious thought about how to improve the competitiveness of the nation, only theirs and their children’s interests counted. That is why Malaysia had not progressed an inch from where we started since 1957; for 50 years the UMNO led elite only gave to all those who were well connected BUT NOT TO THOSE WHO DESERVED THE MOST. This is the most worthy consideration that we must give priority to, ANWAR’S PROMISE TO GIVE THE MOST TO THE MOST DESERVING, (the criteria must always be to the most talented and the most deprived, in other words one based on meritocracy ).
I notice that most comments are still a call for the Prime Minister to be necessarily “A GOOD MAN”, yes this is a fundamentally CONFUCIOUS requirement, ie. That government should be by the most virtuous man leading by example, but Malaysia is not such a society; but Malaysia claims to be a democracy and therefore we need to live by the criteria of a democracy. I dare claim that in a society like Malaysia’s WE DO NOT NEED truly “good man”, because for the last 50 years there was only one PM of Malaysia’s who we can claim to have been a good man, and that was the “Tengku”. The question therefore raised by those who claim that Dato Seri Anwar was such and such is in proper context, NOT RELEVANT. What we want is a man of vision and the charisma to achieve that vision and for that requirement Dato Seri Anwar is the ONE & ONLY leader to achieve that vision. It is not relevant to judge Dato Seri at this time because he has said it and he has had the guts to say in public that race politics has had its day and Malaysia now need most a society that rejects race politics. That is what we need and that is what Dato Seri has made it his vision for Malaysia. Pakatan Rakyat has formed government in the 5 most important states in the federation, the states that pays most on the taxes and the ones with the greatest per capita. These are the states that form the back bone of Malaysia, and they are in the hands of Pakatan and if for nothing else, just for this reason alone all Malaysia need to support Pakatan Rakyat. In order that the nation is not LOPSIDED IN HER DEVELOPMENT. Already we now see the Barisan National doing whatever it is possible to disrupt the smooth running of those states that are held by Pakatan. This is no way to progress Malaysia; give Pakatan Rakyat the true mandate of the people, ENABLE THE PARTY OF THE TRUE PEOPLE’S CHOICE, VOTE PAKATAN RAKYAT !
It is important that I remind all Malaysians that you have for the past 50 years living in a fool’s paradise, ask yourself what it is that has kept Malaysia out of the “poor basket case ?” What are the MONEY EARNERS in Malaysia’s economy ? There are only 4, petro-dollars (soon to be depleted), Palm oil, tourism (hardly developed) and the garment business (hardly count in any substantial way ). When oil runs out there is nothing in the way of a national “money earner”. The point really comes down to what other than oil can Malaysia depend on to make a living, after oil ? NOTHING ! Let me spell it out to you what Malaysia had been in all these 50 years, Malaysia squandered all your oil wealth on trivial nonsense like flying a man into space as a space tourist for Rm.100 million and trying to buy a disused space capsule for another Rm.300 million. You have squandered billions of US$ training an army of useless MALAY BUREAUCRATS. Malaysia had trained an army of do nothing penpushers, who contributes A BIG FAT NOTHING ! Malaysia has no human capital that has industrial “KNOW HOW “ to attract foreign investment, and what reserves has Malaysia to fall back on when oil has run out ? NOTHING ! The billions that went into a failed policy of Ketuaan Melayu has still not awakened you to the reality that you will need to face very soon. Malays too have as good talents as the Chinese or the Indians, but they are out there in the kampongs WHERE 25 MILLION MALAYS who are very talented live BUT NEVER HAD A CHANCE, because they are not politically CONNECTED. This is the promise that supporting can bring a change for the best for all, Chinese, Malays & Indians. MALAYSIA CANNOT BUILD A POOL OF USEFUL INDUSTRIAL TALENTS ON THIS BULLSHIT OF KETUAAN MELAYU !
Anuar is not the right candidate for PM. Let chose someone else but not from PKR, PAS , DAP & BN
All of them are similar.(Macam Ketam mengajar anaknya cara berjalan)
Anuar spent 6 years in jail for what ! 1000 reason hidden behind he and BN & Mahathir. We only read what was written in the newspaper. True or not true aoHe is ex UMNO guy .Why we form only 2 man know it .
He quit UMNO anf form new party . For what ! . bcz he didn't get what he want (from BN)
and Anuar form new party bcz of his personal interested and for rakyat. Let other who are not involved in above stated party rule the goverment (if possible become PM). In America anyone can be presedient as long are capable and resume the country form the int & ext issues.
Look at US presedient campaign. Intersting and have confident on the candidate. In Malaysia every election only talk about corrupition. If the person who talked about corruction did not take or bribe someonle else , I agreed that he can talk on this. Howmany politican are in this list ! Anuar defiately NOT int this list. Look at his family , luxary life man .same as Pak Lah and his croni.
if you were made poor by corrupt system, who is to be blame?
simple, just like you die poor! coz, there is a majority of "you" who voted year in and year out, the same corrupt regime. in this country, the regime is called BN and is made up of malays, chinese, indians, dayaks...what a freaking melting pot who is excellent in screwing the people.
Yapchongyee,
I must say, Malaysia is a democratic country.
In democratic principles we practice and create policies for the majority; that is a fact.
However, the fundamental weakness of democracy is the alienation of the minorities whose plight will not be heard and attended unless it is also the majority's plight.
The way how the nation uses the oil monies are subjective in nature, and we can't say it is wrong. What it fails is the objectivism and how it could have been used to develop the nation and create human capitals and competencies wholesomely, which leads to the uplifting of the intellectualness of the people of the nation as a whole to be able to compete in a globalized world of competitive advantage and using cutting edge technologies and management skills.
I think this sickening matter has nothing to do with race but everything to do with cronyism and pillages of the system.
Mav..
Tun took 22 years to destroy the fabric of democracy..and in the spirit of Malaysia Boleh and to get into Guniness BOOK of record (malaysian edition), AAB is trying to do emulate Tun and is trying to do worse than that within the short span of 5 years. That is a blardy good achievement considering the fact that he is alseep half of the time.
Artchan,
I don't think Dr M had destroyed democracy at all; it's just that he was a demogogue.
Sorry, spelling error - demagogue
Greetings Mave !
I believe you have just agreed with my opinion, essentially of course. On the issue whether Malaysia is a democracy I have yet to contribute my opinion, which I will do soon enough as Part 2 of this thesis !
See you later !
YUP SM, always find an excuse for your lousy and miserable life or failings! Find a scapr goat!
Never blame yourself!
Warrior2,
One thing I am certain; I ain't more miserable than you or failing! If you are doing well, lest be assured I have the ability to earn far better than you do; and I don't need NEP and all those privileges that you enjoyed without sweating as you did.
SM, YUP, assume (eg. that you have the ability to earn more when you dont even know anything about me and how I went thru life) and blame others! Thats your game.
When Bill the Great Gates said to blame one own self for one`s failure (mistake) of which you yourself print here, here comes SM the Great contradicting Bill! Now you must earning more (or have the ability to earn more) than Gate!
My oh my!
Warrior2,
Ya, that's my game. Talking about blaming others, lest you lost your memory that you were contemptuous and imputed that "I am failing and having miserable life and looking for scape goats."
I don't care who you are and similarly you don't know who I am; the empirical evidences over the various comments you made here has shown you do not have respects for me and all the other commentators who are just expressing their own opinions which are impersonal whereas you have always shown contemptuous towards them. This is a private blog and they are expressing an opinion and so long as they did not wrote seditiously nor attempt to be bigotry I will allow their comments even if they are diatribes or blitzkrieg.
I hope you can show respect to others by the choice of your words and not call others including me as failings or miserable guy. Respect yourself and respect your religious attributes of a Muslim. Don't think too highly of yourself even if you are the son of the prime minister or the sultan or a billionaire's son. We do not know each other except in this writing space and it is important that we show each other respect; I hope you understand.
SM, understand the context of my comments . They have always been in relation to what you wrote. My usage of "failings and failures" must be read in the context of what you wrote .
I have never raised myself up "like you". I have never think highly of myself like you who thinks your earning ability is far higher than me without knowing who I am in the first place. OK la, I am a street sweeper! unless you are also a junior street sweeper who just joined the profession, yes you are earning more than me.
Now, how is it that bloggers always hide behind "this is a private blog" when things dont go too well for them. And yet, everybody is shouting freedom of expression!
BTW, whats wrong for me to give my views on what is written by you or commented upon by others?
And as far as I can recall,I have not touched on other readers comments the past 3 days after I started to be active again.
My oh my. Touchy touchy!
Warrior2,
I suppose you don't even know your own arrogant characters and abuses hurled on individuals.
This is a blog, which you also have one, and in your blog you write your thoughts, your ideas, your ways of seeing things and doing things; I have never gone to your blog to ridicule you as a person.
As to those commentators, they are voicing their own opinions, own intuitions and reasons which they preferred and do not expect you to agree.
You can disagree but disagree with the points raised and their representations; but you showed contempt by hurling abuses as individuals; anyway, you didn't even realise it by the way you had said here.
BTW, your usage of "failings and failures" were in the context of what I wrote or targeted to ridicule me as an individual? Please re-read what you wrote and critical reflect on your own writings. You are a well educated person who traveled the wide world; yet your thoughts and behaviors of your writing betrays your intelligence.
I am not hiding behind a private blog as it is factual; similarly your blog is also a private blog.
I admit I wrote highly about myself in response to your contemptuous comments as what you wrote was a utter disrespect for the writer. I don't know who you are, I admit, and neither do you know who I am; so don't call me a failing and a failure; that's contemptuous.
As a Muslim I do expect you to be virtuous, empathetic, humble and honorable because I have the highest regard for Islam and its teaching of virtuousness towards mankind as propagated by the Prophet; but even this comment itself betrays that virtue.
I am not a junior sweeper or a street sweeper; call it pride or prejudice whatever you preferred; I am an academician. I just hope you learn, as a young guy, to be a good Muslim.
You are welcome to share your thoughts or to refute critically of other's point of view; but it is respectful to write in a third party position and spoken in response to the point of contention, and not directed to an individual personally. You are also a blog owner and writer; and I believed you too hope those commentators would also show due respects and decency.
I am not sure you will try to understand.
