A father who sells roti canai, had spent 2 years raping his daughter who was then only 11-years-old. He was sentenced to jail for a total of 36 years and 20 strokes of rotan by the Session Court in PJ. He appealed.In mitigation, his lawyer, S.I. Rajah appealed to the judges to reduce the sentence imposed.
Lawyer: “Justice should be tempered with mercy. The accused used a condom every time he committed the offence.”
Justice Tengku Baharudin: “ You mean it is okay to rape using a condom?”
The accused told the court that, each time, after raping his daughter, he would pay her RM5 as a reward.
