The wedding night party was still under way at the family's home when the groom came down from the bedroom complaining that his bride was not a virgin. He could not display the blood-stained sheet that is traditionally exhibited as proof of the bride's 'purity'.
Mr X went to court the following morning and was granted an annulment on the grounds that his bride had deceived him on "one of the essential elements" of the marriage.
The annulment served to send young Muslim girls running to hospitals to have their hymens restored. The operation is in increasing demand from Muslim women who fear the consequences of being unable to prove their virginity.

Datuk Seri Samy Vellu declared that MIC might have lost seats in the elections but not its Sakthi (power). Samy said this in his speech at the Selangor MIC annual general meeting yesterday.
"Are we dead because we lost the seats? We have only lost this once. Only we can speak on behalf of Indian community," Samy declared.
"Today, the young people are scolding us, asking what MIC has done. You cannot sit in your bedroom and scold us all the time. Get out of your bedroom and see our work," Samy challenged the Indians.
He then turned to Dr Subramaniam, who was talking to vice-president Datuk S. Veerasingham, and said: "Subramaniam listen. Veerasingham, don't talk to him. Always talking stories."
Selangor MIC Youth chief P.Subramaniam in his speech at the AGM said Dr Mohd Khir Toyo's decision to award brooms to civil servants had led to many voters voting the opposition. He also claimed that Khir Toyo was the reason for MIC's failure in the state.

Hahahaha..Same as the BMC..for years the people has been fighting for the opening. Nothing happened. Then PR won..BMC after much altercations between Polis and BMC residents, state govt..etc. BMC was opened. And you know what pink lips said " We open the BMC becos we are concerned for the residents" Hey Pink LIps...where were you when the started to fight for the opening years ago. Unless you are also sleeping like ZZZZZZZZZZZPM pls go play your politics within UMNO
I say this to PinK Lips...please shut the f@rk up and focus on your position in your party. Somebody is going to take it away from you.
Artchan,
The problem with BN and Umno is that they need a crisis to act; and some people must be sacrificed in order to see the BN govt act fairly.
jeez, a few going-to-be-empty-promises from the biggest compulsive liar & all sabahan start celebrating like 'monyek kena belachan'
starts demanding for your share...
demand your 20% oil royalty & tell that bodowi : show us the money!
~~~beeranyone
Beeranyone,
I think PM had done more than he could afford.
for a person who could afford to spend 200 millions on a jet & luxurious yacht for himself
splashing 300 millions every year to entertain his frenchy friend during monsoon in t'gganu.
giving out 600 millions of pocket money to his divisions head to spend.
and not to mention contracts worth billions to his childrens & buddies...
so this is the best promises he could offer to the people in sabah?
~~~beeranyone
Beeranyone,
He is still the poorest PM... not yet richer than Bill Gates or Lim Goh Tong.

why would anyone or any government for that matter, that have tonnes of C4 (sei-Four) in their hands bother to bow to any pressure?
they wont even afraid of Toonami or even Tsunami!
Now the Sabahans think they have got what they wanted, or have they? Let's pause for a moment to reflect. If it had not been for Pakatan Rakyat who managed to erode the "market share" of the BN, these fellas in Sabah would not have been considered high-value asset. If UMNO have the interest of the Sabahans at heart, they should have treated the Sabahans with due respect during the good as well as the bad times. Now that UMNO is in a bad shape, they [UMNO] have no choice but to be "arm-bended" indirectly by PR to listen to the plights of the Sabahans. If UMNO were to perform better in the next round, I bet you the Sabahans will once again be relegated to the back waters of Malaysian policitics. In the concession accorded by UMNO, I still don't see the Sabahans playing a prominent role in national affairs and they are still happy with the 5% oil royalty when the state is oozing more oil than anybody else? Gosh, such simpletons!
ORIS,
Any government who did not do right will ultimately bow out or down.
Billy,
You may be right; but Sabah politics is complex and perturbing.
