The invitation was made through the PAS Supporters' Club today.
"Let us join forces and battle for equality and justice for all races in this country," said PAS national committee for unity chief Khariul Faizi Ahmad Kamil in a statement today.
Khariul also welcomed other MIC members to join PAS.
Meanwhile, at the Dewan Rakyat Datuk Tajudin Abdul Rahman (BN - Pasir Salak) urge education minister to only help non-bumiputra students, who achieved academic excellence but not at the expense of jeopardising scholarships awarded to bumiputras.
“By all means, we help them but not at the expense of bumiputra students. I do not agree to increase the ratio of scholarships to non-bumiputra students.
“The ratio of 80% for bumiputra students should remain. I am ready to face the Education Minister for (saying) this,” he said, when debating on the motion on the mid-term review of the Ninth Malaysia Plan.

When did the 80% rights exists? How could that percentage be maintain if the number of scholarships are a fixed quantum and the number of scholarships for non-Bumis to be increase without a reduction in the percentum for Bumis? If ever the quota system is exercised it should have been 60%-25%-10%-5%. How about those with CGPA of 0.8 and 1.0 being granted scholarships by Umno or DPM?
Trusting PAS and it's Islamic policies has far more integrity than Umno and it's kleptocratic system. In reality, it's rhetorics from Umno reps only; they can never help the Malays except for a few. In the end, the Malays are the ones that would suffer heavily under such mediocre system which do not promote competency and lacks integrity.
One thing is certain: globalization is driving competitiveness and competency to such a high level that those left far behind would never ever be able to catch up, even given the gravy train.
Those who had been discriminated over the decades had build up a system of self-reliance and competencies to deal with the situations and to face global opportunities. Through hardwork, frugality and persistence, and under oppressive and suppressive policies and dictates, they had built a strong culture of self-dependence and self-support; they would not be cowed and bullied by oppressive policies and suppressive political dictates. They had continued to forged ahead and face the world of reality with their competency and integrity. In the years to come, and with an impending recession looming, the pain of reality will surface and would hurt most those who lacks capabilities, competencies and integrity and those who had relied on handouts and rent-seeking.

guess where some of the funding for the scholarships come from?
gaming taxes, alcohol taxes, tobacco taxes, piggish business taxes, etc
wtf, so some haram taxes to fund 80% muslim kids.???
It's weird for PAS to do such 'invitation' to MIC. If we all can remember past few years, PAS was very vocal in opposing the involvement of MCA, MIC in islamic parties. But now, their stand had changed by introducing non-islam ppl to the party.
Is the move fuelled by the fact that their, PAS original ideology was rejected by most of Malaysians?
The more these UMNO MPs speak about scholarships to bumi students - the bigger the hole gets !!!
Sejak bila PAS terima non moslem? When did they amend thier consti?
When doing something because of political expediency rather than the party's actual stand, it somehow sounds weird and out of place...
UMNO and Malay Supremacy including 80% scholarship to Malays are all piece-a-shit!
Dont be shock to find that a much dumber Malays be given scholarship to do Pilot and Navigation, Houseman-ship and De-Bonking, and more nuisance courses at the expense of the Rakyat.
Just ignore the nonsense statement by Tajudin De Dumb Fella.
He is from UMNO, the Dumb Fella Party.
it's a very sad legacy, in chasing after tallest longest bestest buildings highway facilities, the leaders have neglected the most important investment of all - intellectual capital. and the knee-jerking response to the unfortunate racial clashes has resulted in the awkward standing our country's competitiveness, or rather the lack of it that we now have.
PAS cannot even agree on the decisions by his colleagues whom they form government with in certain states, this is a big joke.
I dunno if Najib is involve with c4 murder?
I dunno if Najib's wife is involce in c4 murder?
I duno if Najib *framed* DSAI?
But I know Najib declare to wash Chinese blood with Keris in 1980 and his cousin enjoy playing with krisss!
That's enough not to make him the next PM!
Badawi is a *good*man,,,
I mean GOOD mna!
Winner takes all... GOOD POSTER!!
Hello all,
PAS invited MIC to join them?? Are they becoming desperate enough to drop BN out of the federal government? Or is it because they dont have enough agenda to weaken the current government?
PAS is definitely making a bold scene here. So pathetic.
Dani,
Maybe you should spent some time to learn about PAS political philosophy in order to appreciate them. Give ourselves a chance to learn.
Purple-Haze,
You could be right.
Gukita,
I don't think so as PAS have Supporters Club for non-Muslims at each State.
Pui-key-Mack,
What matters is that each individual must have a consciousness of the detrimental system which could affect their future endeavors and that of their children; at such, we have to planned ahead and conserve energy and money to meet the constraints and needs for our siblings and children.
Silver Coin,
This is not a joke; let's give PAS the benefit of doubt.
Edi,
You very naughty.
Wisdomthinker,
It's not pathetic; it's facing up to the social reality of a plural society.
I think, if anything happen to Anwar, the future PM candidate from PR is Husam Musa. What is your opinion Mave?
http://www.husammusa.com/husammusa08/
Just like Obama for US President isn't it?
NONAMA
Nonama,
I certainly preferred Husam Musa over any other candidates including Anwar. The problem is Husam is also facing problem within PAS as many envied him over his fast rising star status.
mave,
you're correct about YB Husam Musa. he's facing problem in kelantan but the kelantanese also prefers him to be the next leader in case something happen to TG Nik Aziz. in fact, i prefer him to be the next PM.
i've seen his write up & his speech in the parliment. so calm & he has the charisma!
about PAS inviting MIC to join their PAS Supporter's Club, why not? even kumutha speaks on behalf of PAS (but she was defeated in the last election). in case you guys don't know her, she's the 1st non-Muslim candidate for PAS in the last election under the ticket of PKR.
bare in mind that PAS is actually color blind. not playing the race card. even our representative in my hometown is a chinese - yb idham lim (but of course he's a muslim!).
Suealeen,
Ya, I know about Kumutha from Johor who was fielded by PAS under the PKR banner.
I agree that PAS is a much more balance Islam conforming to the Quran than the BN Islam of the rhetorical type cliques.
I stayed in kelantan for 6 years.
