Law Minister Zaid 'tenders resignation'

Pre-emptive strike by Zaid Ibrahim: Resign!

According to a reliable source, Zaid's resignation letter was delivered to the Prime Minister's Office at around 2pm today.

Zaid had earlier said that he would try to meet Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi some time this week to discuss the matter.

Malaysiakini was informed that Zaid did not meet with his boss before the letter was submitted to the PM's office in Putrajaya this afternoon.

Syed Hamid Albar disagreed with Zaid over the detention of the threesome - Teresa Kok, Raja Petra and Tan Hoon Cheng.

This is what Syed Hamid tells Zaid Ibrahim:

There are just too many of the ministers who do not share Zaid's philosophy of justice. Zaid is a lone ranger. His boss could not defend him. His boss wanted judicial reform but cannot accept change and he is surrounded by a bunch of idiots. So either Zaid follow them and stick to the old policies of korek, korek and korek or alternatively pack his bag and to leave in the name of jurisprudence.

However, we commoners will continue to support a good man, a man who stood by his integrity and who would stand up to face the loss of power and position to affirm his ideology of justice and fairness. We salute Zaid!

Quote for Today:

"Everybody has a life span and when the time comes, everybody must exit gracefully. Umno is no longer a safe port, having been worn out by abuses, corruption and money politics. It's a case of the birds have come to roost, and what you sow may be what you reap."

berita ini masih belum sah 100% walaupun ada kemungkinan kerana Zaid sendiri tak dapat dihubungi lagi.

satu langkah yang amat drastik dari Zaid.he's certainly a man of his word.

tapi ada kemungkinan juga dia mungkin dah rancang untuk meletak jawatan.mungkin selepas ini dia akan menyertai PR.siapa tahu?.kemungkinan ini tidak boleh ditolak mentah-mentah.

If it's true, then Datuk Zaid Ibrahim has my respect. It's not easy to walk away from a Ministerial position.

now it all makes sense - aab though labeled sleepy head, engineered ops lalang ii to fuel more BN MP, esp those right-thinking and non-bumi MP to speed up 16 sep mission lompat to PR. he knows that BN-umno is cancer to malaysia, coz he cannot free clutches of old drm and bijan and old umno "grassroots" - he tried to reform by netting 18 sharks but have to comply to slow down after being "advised". bn-umno cannot be cured oledi, the only way to save bn or malaysia is to "reboot", like matrix revolutions (or kmt of taiwan). devised by his femes sil, he made pact with dsai, the latter probably will offer him agreeable pension, gov post after cool down period. after 30 MPs leap, the pm made announcement to resign, allow the MPs to re-elect again new PM which will obviously goes to PR leader who has the majority....... and 16 sep will come true then.

SAY NO TO ISA
The disease of excessive greed of power has created our Malaysian leaders being inefficiency , negligence, corrupted , malpractice and abuse of power. What is highly objectionable, however is the use of ISA to restrict the publication of matters of public interest - when our public interests required openness and continuing need freedom of information in our modern society.

We have to create a more open government, which respect and upholds the fundamental right to allow all rightful Malaysian citizens in all matters affecting the country and people everyday life.
The use of ISA on political leader, blogger and journalist by it self is a self definition of an undemocratic and autocratic government.

Such a government does not become a democratic just because once in every five years it holds general election and win marginally in the 2008 therefore denied people the opportunities to intelligently exercise a free choice of opinions. Through the denial of information and mass media control has confirm that government is hiding information from the public.

This can only deepen the despair and disillusionment on Malaysian and this clearly cannot be beneficial to economic development and progress. So I as a Malaysian citizen pledge to the present prime minister to release those held under ISA .

It's a smart move from Zaid in terms of rising above all the muck that's swamping BN now. His bravado puts people like Koh Tsu Koon and Ong Ka Ting to shame though.

Jumpa pun tak lagi, dah resign. Takpa lah kalau kepala dah jenis macam tu. Takda menyusahkan orang. Ada apa2 masalah pergi kecoh dekat luar, bukan nak berbincang dulu. Nak tarik perhatian orang ke apa dia ni.

I think this Zaid is already planning to jump ship to PKR already.

He is not well-recieved in UNMO, and sooner or later, he will be replace by some UNMO strongman.

He is creating this buzz in order to attract attention, under his new boss Anwar. and to make more people jump ship as well.

In the coming days, news of him going to PRK will be announced.
